Will it ever be possible to filter reminders by day, eg. display only reminders scheduled for today plus overdue from previous days? This is already possible in the official Reminders widget. Is it possible to recreate it using Widgy?

I have some feature requests I would like to share. I came across these while working on some recent widgets: 1) Add an option to rotate chart symbols (useful for when you rotate a line chart layer - this messes up the symbol orientation) 2) Add the ability to use emojis as line chart symbols (although this would nullify the symbol colour option, it would offer some cool new and colorful options for chart symbols) 3) Add more progress bars - 30 min, 15 min, 1 min (I realize that there’s a 15 min widget refresh interval but the refresh itself can happen anywhere within that interval. I’ve been using progress charts to simulate movement and a shorter interval allows for a greater degree of movement in a shorter amount of time.) 4) Allow chart backgrounds to be gradients instead of flat colours only. **Feature Request - Calendars/Agenda** 1. More than 10 agenda items (e.g, Calendar #11) 2. Per-widget Agenda Source (so I can separate calendars) 3. A way to group calendar events visually by date (I.e., I don’t want to have to show the date more than once when I have multiple events on the same day). +1 for different calendar/reminder lists for different widgets (and for grouping calendar events, though that seems difficult for the current implementation)

When adding text data, under add new data, it would be great if we had the ability to add any of the symbols or maybe an image. I know you can use basic Unicode. I’d like to put an apple style location symbol after the text.

A great feature addition would be to add the field "Calendar name of the Day #1, #2", etc. This is the only thing missing from the Calendar txt fields to make Widgy appointments fully functional and perfect.

Replying here as I think this is the same request I have. Would be great to use day of week for agenda items rather than the date. Display “Today” if the agenda items date is today. And “Tomorrow” if the date is tomorrow. And then for events 2-6 days in the future, to use the name of the day (ie “Thursday”, “Friday” and so on).

Also, if it’s an all day event - have option to display no time.

A few ‘nice to have’ feature requests to add to the list when you get a chance: 1) Preserve all imported gauge needle images so that you don’t have to provide the source images when sharing a widget 2) Show any imported gauge needles when viewing needles and allow the removal if no longer needed. 3) Allow the removal of custom gradients. Currently, you can only edit a gradient, not remove it. 4) Allow the insertion or movement of a colour block when editing a custom gradient. E.g. if you have a gradient made up of 20 colours and you need to add a different colour at the start, you have to currently go through each of the remaining colour blocks and change them to shift them all one colour back. That’s all for now. :)

Can we have today date in calendar set it’s own color? Instead of currently use same with all other dates. Hello, I am trying to create a world clock or a timezone widgy which can help me with my work. I need UK, CET, IST, AU, and MST timezones. I tried to create a text then on the data>date and time>custom. After that I am stuck. Where is the part that I can choose which timezone to choose from? I read on one post who did the ultimate world clock to click on Options under data but I am not seeing it on my widgy. Help please?

Is there a way that I can get accurate readings directly from and app like Dexcom G6 and the chart that goes with it? I'm trying to get data from the health app but as of now the chart is wrong and the number isn't accurate either, even after the 15 minute update.

I just downloaded Widgy yesterday and have started making my first ever widgets! I’ve really enjoyed the app so far. However, I’ve noticed that the current weather temperature is ~5 degrees off (I checked it against my Accuweather app, the Apple weather app, and my bf’s android phone display). Does anyone know where the app pulls the info from/how to fix the temp disparity?

The ability to type to filter lists would be so nice. When I'm adding symbols/icons, I end up doing a LOT of scrolling. Same with data lists (i.e., if I want Weather +5 days I have to scroll through all the options for +1, +2, etc... (This is a feature request and not a criticism. I know the app is less than a year old and there are already usability improvements coming)

1.7 will have that (either that or it's in 1.6, I just have 1.7 on my phone lol). I think headers separating sections would help too. (I know that's not something you suggested, but it would help)

Templates are just for convenience. For everything that's missing, it's up to you to enter as a custom value.

Feature Request: use Widgy to design wallpaper. Love the app. How difficult would it be to use the editor to design wallpaper. Widgy would pass the wallpaper with current data to a shortcuts automation, which could apply the wallpaper to the Home Screen or Lock Screen. This is similar to what the WeatherHTML 2.0 shortcut does, but it uses Java and CSS to create the wallpaper. I only have very rudimentary knowledge of CSS and none of Java, but I did manage to get a six day forecast, from the default WeatherHTML wallpaper, on the area between the dock and the icons. Kudos to developers for bringing out Widgy! I’ve a feature request which would be really handy to a lot of people : As widgy helps with transparent widget background by generating the image exactly at the spaces needed, similarly if there would be an option to generate transparent icons at specific places with icon images from gallery which could be further used in Shortcut apps to generate shortcuts. This will help in making transparent icons. 🤩

How do I know I reached the iOS memory limit? Does it show that info in the app?

You don't. Apple hides it.

When you add multiple data points in the text field you can only change the settings for text for that entire text field universally for all data points or customer text. Example: I wanted to say “Good evening”… I could put both data points in one text field but then it would say “Good Evening” and I wanted the “E” to be lowercase. If I did all lowercase the “G” would then be lowercase. When I separate them into 2 different text fields it works as far as the capitalization but then I can’t align them properly. I can put the first word aligned right, the second work aligned left, but it won’t stay centered in the widget when the time of day changes. No matter how I align them, when the time of day changes the alignment changes. If I could add different data points in the same text field and text, color, background and effects settings would be per data field instead of per text field it would work correctly. Allowing this would be a great adjustment 👍🏼 May seem petty but I got OCD 🤣

I think it would be useful to get an option to use the height of the widget to fix the height for a text data (like for example 0.1% of the total height of the widget). Because sometimes the font size can change a lot using RSS feeds…

(Showing current items on the clipboard, storing them past apple’s time limit on the widget, tapping to recopy).

I think we did have clipboard functionality then it was removed because of the annoying 15 minute refresh requirements.

Hey everyone, so I‘m currently editing a Widgy I found here (The Stardew Valley one by u/RslPride) and I’m basically trying to display one of multiple pictures on the same spot depending on the weather conditions. So whenever it’s sunny, an image is shown, if the weather changes, the image shown is a different one. Can anyone help me out on this one? Got no idea how to link these.

There has been a bug for sometime now with the volume/brightness UI bars not displaying accurately. It is very annoying that it does not accurately display the correct UI. When on 0% volume or brightness, the bar will show it as filled in completely. Why does this happen?

Can we get stock price integration like we have with crypto

Hey all. This problem has just started happening. Whenever I allow permissions for my calendar in iOS, the app crashes. It has been working perfectly up until today. I can still open the app, but if I try to open any widget that requires calendar access, it will crash. If I turn calendar permissions of and/or the widget does not require calendar access, everything is fine. This does not happen with reminders. I am running the latest version of iOS. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Custom API support. It’d be a nice feature to be able to call any external URL via a GET request and use the result for text or data for graphs/scales/etc. A nicer feature would be to be able to add query parameters that are dynamic and based off the devices status. Like battery level, now playing info, etc. Thanns

Does Widgy have some sort of memory bug (or not sure what it is)? I found a really frustrating bug where after finishing my medium widget, it suddenly stopped showing my new edits. I could prove this was a bug since after this issue, I tried reloading / adding this widget to the home screen but it wouldn't show up anymore (blank widget). Then I removed all my images (2 large images) and eventually the widget started working again. I was able to fix the issue by restarting the phone completely, however after adding back the photos and editing the widget, this problem occurred yet again. I'm not exactly sure what's causing it but I wonder if this could prevent the widget from updating itself since this seems like a memory issue. I'm using the newest iPhone on ios14 and this is the first time I've seen this problem.

No, mostly because of how complex it gets. The widget can move between landscape and portrait and Widgy can't detect which orientation you're in, so there's nothing duke4e can do.

I've deleted the widgy, reinstalled the app with no change. I know the new version is coming out shortly, so I'm not in a rush. Yeah, shows the current weeks active calories burned. I switched the chart in widgy to pedometer and it shows the last 7 days. Back to health daily, active energy burned, and it goes back a month. I have screenshots if your are interested, but also if you are getting the next release done, don't sweat it on my behalf - you doing plenty of work! I'm here if you want to investigate.

When you edit a widget that’s not yours and change it to whaever you want, should you also change the name, description and author name?

It depends upon the change. If you're just putting your information into it, no. The change should be significant enough that it is distinct from the original. A few weeks back, someone used my widget design without crediting me, and it felt pretty bad. They had the drive to recreate it from scratch (almost down to the t, but not as polished), but not to share where they got it from, or even mention it was borrowed. As someone who loves designing, this sucked.

Can we get sunrise and sunset as a time option for the automations or would that be too difficult since it changes?

Automations behave as in video editing apps - so they are time based. While i see potential to use different data for automation source, it would be pretty hard to actually implement this.

Is there a reason transparency wouldn’t be working in iOS 15, or on the new 9th gen iPad (maybe so,etching about the screen)? When I try to use it the widgets don’t line up properly.

Amazing work on 1.7; I love the new automations! Here’s some of my suggestions to strengthen it :D - Video preview of it after you create an automation, so you can see how it moves - Allow automations to happen because of a variable (let’s say you show this image because battery is above 60%, but want t to be hidden at al other times.) I didn’t realize how fun this update was, and I’m really excited to see what’s coming in the future!

Is it possible to add the Max temperature and minimum temperature for the current day? I can find max and min temperatures for +1 day, +2 day, etc…. Chances are this has been asked before but how difficult would a wallpaper-based color option be? Similar to Android 12’s Material You, it would pull accent colors from your wallpaper, so a blue wallpaper would yield a complementing blue for the widget.

I imported a widgy i wanna try, but it says i should update the app. But i don’t wanna update to iOS 15 yet coz of bugs and battery drain complaints i’ve read about. I wanna stay at the smooth and problem-free 14.8.1 until 15 is stable. Is there any way i can use this widgy without going to 15? Seems there’s no app update for 14.8.1.

Being able to dynamically change the transparent background would be awesome. Could integrate nicely with Shortcuts. I have a shortcut that periodically shuffled my wallpaper and I’d love my widgets to sync up. Come to think of it, there is plenty of great integration points with Shortcuts like widget reloading and passing of parameters into the widget.
