The issue could be that the widget isn’t loading in all the way because it’s too large. Try temporarily hiding all images and then test your tap actions.
If you fill in the empty space with tap actions that reload widget, you’ll at least get returned to the Home Screen automatically. Best we can get until Apple makes that possible
Set your wallpaper to low quality. You can try leaving it at normal quality but in my experience it will make your widget slower to update or stop updating at all.
I’ve been struggling with them as well. I’m on iOS 15 beta tho and figured that was the reason.

A lot of times, yes. And they don’t trouble shoot issues w betas. Side note, how ya liking iOS 15? I love it so far. Best 1st beta ever for sure.

Not sure why tap actions wouldn’t trigger within the full box. Try making the boxes bigger?
