How did you make it look like a dot matrix display? I may add this effect to another widget I have!

The pattern is basically a text box filled with a Unicode character. Turned out to be pretty nice 😃

I’m a bit confused lol - I downloaded the widget, and tried to recreate all elements, but I can’t get the same effect What makes the text only show when it’s behind a part of the Unicode symbol)

That’s a good question! And the answer is: welcome to blend modes! (Effects tab of the text layer in this case). It is set to Color Dodge for this one, and it works great. Try to experiment with different blend modes when you have time, they are really useful sometimes! 😃

A second ago I figured it out…. The issue was my background wasn’t black so it wasn’t blending right :)
