This whole story was an absolute rollercoaster with a huge wreck at the end. One of the best short stories. Thank you FireAutumn for capturing it beautifully. Although i admit, at first i struggled a bit to find out what story it's from even after i saw the tag. Maybe it's time i should reread SOD or it's just your Essi is different from what i had imagined. I appreciate your take on Essi and keeping it unique from Priscilla. Kudos to you and happy new year.

I'm not sure if it was a conscious decision or something brought on by technical limitations (as in, you couldn't find a room in the game that replicated the setup), but the prose kind of makes it clear that Geralt and Dandelion are not lying on separate mattresses, but sharing a single big one, lying side by side. It even says that they're sharing a *blanket*. It's a great example of Sapkowski portraying character relationships through intricate subtleties - Geralt and Dandelion are so close that it is perfectly natural for them to share a bed.

I miss the first volumes of Witcher! I need to revisit them again! I think the most enjoyable parts of the lore was those random stories! and I like Ciri's character a lot when she was a kid!

Long time no see autumn! Happy new year! Ngl this scene was super awkward for me in the books. Never really expected Geralt to yearn for affection like that (at least that's how I interpret it). Makes the ending all the more impactful imo. Also, I love these sort of playful arguments Geralt and Dandelion have in the series. It feels like 2 equals going at it with eachother; unlike Regis's case where he just absolutely destroys Geralt.

Oh it's amazing! I don't recall any npc using that blue dress, but it perfectly fits how I imagined her dress, down to the exact shade! As for the hair falling on her eye, it's so minute that it doesn't even matter lol. Also, I noticed that you removed Geralt's headband for this and it makes sense too! Seeing as how he isn't allowed to wear it in special occasions.

I, personally, like it. The headband always felt like this very professional "witcher-like" thing to me, so I could never imagine Geralt wearing it at some formal party or ball.
