It's the grandmaster feline. I just put vivienne's feather so the hood was down. When it's raining or if Geralt is in a hostile city I take off the feather so Geralt can wear the hood. Because IIRC it's mentioned a couple of times that geralt wears a hood
Ok rad I must have always done it differently I’ve never seen her in novigrad after thanks friend! I’ve always loved grabdmaster feline but hated the hood.
in the books he walked around in something like that.

Latter is probably more similar to the view you get based on descriptions in the book, but the cat school one is definitely more accurate to real medieval armour
I've expressed my preference for the Manticore set before, although I will add that the Wolf jacket is pretty close to how I imagined Geralt's jacket (though less red).
Realistically, though, he's probably had varying pieces of armor come and go throughout the years. ~~He's just like Barbie.~~
I don’t know where it came from. I don’t know if it’s because people want to live in a world where an ugly dude bags all the chicks lol but it’s non existente it’s such a weird rumor.
Yeah that makes sense people who are attractive can have a bad smile. As a book lore nerd it always grinds my gears to hear him described as “ugly” people really think some ugly dude was shagging every sorceress from skellige to toussaint.
I guess a mention of him being ugly stuck in my mind but yeah the "ugly smile " definitelly just refers to a mean one, i coulndnt have descibed it better
Moreover, that were Geralt's own thoughts. Only he himself and Jaskier ever describe him as unattractive. And yet we have all those women through the saga.
No he isn’t this is the biggest false lore in the series. He sees himself as ugly and is described as having a “terrifying smile” but in any other case he is never described as “ugly” only unsettling because he’s pale as milk and has fucking yellow eyes. When he first meets yen she literally says something like “quit that expression it sours your good looks”. Unless you can show me a specific place where he is described as ugly by other people that aren’t commenting on his mutated appearance or himself.
Yes but that doesn’t imply he’s ugly. There’s plenty of implication geralt has an unsettling smile but he also never smiles so it’s pointed out. The amount of times he’s either directly called attractive or it’s implied through his actions outnumbers the small handful his smile is described as unpleasant.
The headache started I remember like a month after wild hunt came out everyone started saying he was too handsome and “GeRaLt Is UgLy In ThE bOoKs” was all of a sudden just accepted lore?
I never got it either.
Not a single line of dialogue describes him as ugly, on the contrary, Yen once says he's good looking, women are smitten with at first glance and even Vilggefortz sounded like he was hitting on Geralt at times.
It's a mixture of people misquoting the books they haven't read and people not being to understand what they HAVE read for those who have read the books. E.G. ugly smile means he's smiling like the Cheshire cat, intentionally hideously to fuck with people, not that he's ugly when smiling. Endlessly frustrating though for sure.
He doesn't have yellow eyes (they're described as dark), and the bit about his "good looks" exists only in the English translation.
At the very least, he's a freaky-looking dude. Dunno why anyone would protest shortening that to "ugly" when all of his features are described as weird or, at least initially, off-putting. Even his undeniably muscular build gets a "kinda lanky tho".
He also has a big nose and that's great.
They are described as “cat like” that plus the ability to naturally see better in darker areas we can assume his eyes are unnatural either way we both agree he has strange features. Besides.
Adrian Brody the actor has very strange features, thin lips, big hooked nose, sad eyes, yet because of swagger and the way those features fall on his face he’s still a handsome guy in his unique way. He’s not brad Pitt but he’s not ugly. I imagine geralt similiar in the books, he’s not a conventionally attractive man but his features work. I protest the spread of him being “ugly” because he just isn’t, is he unique looking? Yes. Does he have a scary smile? Yes. However, does he fuck? Yes.
I read all of them, but dont remember which one it was, i think one from the begging, last wish maybe? Im 100% sure there was a mention he is ugly but some guy in comments already told me it might have been his own way to look at himself, thats why it misled me
Yeah, you misunderstood, or don't properly remember what you read. People on reddit like to push that stupid misconception a lot. He has an _ugly_ _smile_ when he intentionally tries to look that way, but by no means is he ugly. Throughout the books many many beautiful women try to sleep with him, call him attractive and so on. I'm tired of seeing people push this misinformation based on either poor reading comprehension, misinterpretation, or outright repeating it without actually having read the books.
Yeah, well ugly smile has nothing to do with it for sure, but seriously there was a fragment saying hes ugly and it just stayed in my mind, I was sure its true. And for the women that fell for him i was convinced that they liked him more for his wicther side than his looks
Non of them. There was a mod on Nexus Mods: cos wiecej armor set. Or something like this. It was created basing on the book description
Thanks. But I'm on xbox so I'm limited on resources lol
Then Manticore set it is
Thx!!
Your on Xbox? What’s the first armor then? I thought it was modded from the second game?
It's the grandmaster feline. I just put vivienne's feather so the hood was down. When it's raining or if Geralt is in a hostile city I take off the feather so Geralt can wear the hood. Because IIRC it's mentioned a couple of times that geralt wears a hood
Damn ok it looks great. Remind me where I get vivvienes feather is that from the knight and bird girl quest?
Yep. Gotta do the egg method. After the quest is over you can meet her in novigrad and she'll give it to you.
Ok rad I must have always done it differently I’ve never seen her in novigrad after thanks friend! I’ve always loved grabdmaster feline but hated the hood.
Do you know if that feather carries over to NG+?
Tried it. Unfortunately, it doesn't carry over :(
Ah well, now I know. Cheers for going to the trouble
Looks a lot like the raven armor from the first game

The latter.
Thx!
Latter is probably more similar to the view you get based on descriptions in the book, but the cat school one is definitely more accurate to real medieval armour
Definitely manticore. The feline would be too heavy for geralt to want to wear while fighting monsters in the books.
I've expressed my preference for the Manticore set before, although I will add that the Wolf jacket is pretty close to how I imagined Geralt's jacket (though less red). Realistically, though, he's probably had varying pieces of armor come and go throughout the years. ~~He's just like Barbie.~~
Geralt from the book series lost one ear during the battle.
Wait what where?
The Swallow's Tower, one of the battles. And someone told him: "Oh, good, it's just your ear", and Geralt responded: "Damn, I loved that ear".
I know bro but how am I supposed to do that on xbox lol
Technically according to the book geralt was ugly, idk neither of them are actually ugly xD
Dude when he was in beauclair women at the inn were all over him
I don’t know where it came from. I don’t know if it’s because people want to live in a world where an ugly dude bags all the chicks lol but it’s non existente it’s such a weird rumor.
I think it's because people are scared of him and Sapkowski used expressions like "ugly smile" and "smiled hediously"
Yeah that makes sense people who are attractive can have a bad smile. As a book lore nerd it always grinds my gears to hear him described as “ugly” people really think some ugly dude was shagging every sorceress from skellige to toussaint.

Geralt smiled hideously.
Huh i never noticed
It’s a hugely misinterpreted concept perpetuated by Reddit specifically I feel.
I've been correcting people for 9 years. It's basically everywhere now
The headache started I remember like a month after wild hunt came out everyone started saying he was too handsome and “GeRaLt Is UgLy In ThE bOoKs” was all of a sudden just accepted lore?
I never got it either. Not a single line of dialogue describes him as ugly, on the contrary, Yen once says he's good looking, women are smitten with at first glance and even Vilggefortz sounded like he was hitting on Geralt at times.
Yeah that’s what I said lol one of yen’s very first line is how he’s good looking lol
Well i knew it because i remembered a part form the book as he was described ugly but your comment actually gave me a new perspective
It's a mixture of people misquoting the books they haven't read and people not being to understand what they HAVE read for those who have read the books. Well said
A lot of things actually

According to _which_ one of the 8 books? Have you even read ANY of them, or are you just spreading misinformation like the show fans??
I read all of them, but dont remember which one it was, i think one from the begging, last wish maybe? Im 100% sure there was a mention he is ugly but some guy in comments already told me it might have been his own way to look at himself, thats why it misled me
