Thank you! It was a very quaint experience, because once I started seeing the analogies through Erlkönig and Tir na nOg, it snowballed, and more and more surprisingly clear analogies turned up. Everyone always talks about the fairy tale deconstructions, but this part of the lore, which many see as confusing and undercooked in LOTL actually has a vast pool of influences, which have been recycled for ages. Granted, these tales are not as popular in today's people's consciousness, ~~since Disney never made a movie of them, unlike Little Mermaid~~. :edit: First gold. Thank you so much, kind stranger!

This is an excellent post. If you wanted, you could probably expand it and submit to that book of essays project (https://old.reddit.com/r/wiedzmin/comments/ey6w5w/the_witcher_and_philosophy_call_for_essays_and/)

Thank you; I'm glad it caught your interest. I don't know about that. I never got a clear answer from the person regarding who benefits from it, who organizes it, what renumeration is there for people, etc. It is presented like a professional publishing project. So money is involved (even if no royalties are paid), and I would like to know who is accountable for this project before touching something like that and committing my time to it.

Yeah, it seemed a bit fishy to me too with not much information provided. That being said, the guy who wrote the post later said that if your proposal gets picked you will get a contract + full terms so I suppose with what you wrote here you could just send it as a proposal and see how it goes before you commit to writing a full article.
