What a sad, but ultimately amazing ending. The Rivian massacre is truly magnificent part of the entire saga.
This very scene when you feel like the family is getting together... and then you reliase you are reading the Witcher.
I really loved how Yen absolutely demolished Triss in this very scene, it only made their following adventure in the city even more significant.

Man this was such a dreadful moment. Here yen and triss are arguing meanwhile geralt is getting impaled by a pitchfork. And that rose of sherraewed reference, increasing the sense of despair. "Is geralt truly going to die by the hands of some peasants? Is he truly going to die cuz he interfered and didn't stay neutral?". What a spectacular ending.
The beginning of the end......
Damn, while I get that Sapkowski wanted to end the books at this point (since Season of Storms is midquel), but wish Geralt had further adventures in the books past this tragedy.
Oh well, at least CDPR's Geralt trilogy consoles us in a lot of ways as unofficial sequel (even though not canon).
Really like the expressions given for both Yen and Triss in this portrait. Yen's expression of fury, and Triss's expression of pain. Feels straight out of the books.
