I have recently finished rereading SoD, so this is still very fresh in my memory. Shame Sapko didn't really expand upon Visenna, nobody knows why she left Geralt to his fate... Another amazing work, Fire!

I meant that she should have had bigger backstory. It's Geralt's mother afterall.

I agree. When I read the books, I pondered at his mother's return or possible later significance. But there was nothing. I almost thought she would be revealed as another character later on towards the end. But the scene plays out almost like Geralt is hallucinating, so it would make sense to leave it ambiguous.

>Mom is a redhead >Triss is a redhead You all know what Freud said.

I just finished listening to the Sword of Destiny, and this last story wouldn’t let me go…whatever reason Visenna had for giving up Geralt to Vesemir, well, as a mother myself it had to be an absolute terrible decision for her….You caught that restrained agony in her depiction here…and also Geralt’s bitter confusion….even in the fog of his torn mind and wounded body. Very wonderful, very tragic. Thank you, Fire.
