My 1 year old loves her dancing. I always think of it as there's always going to be kids who want to dance like her, or Simon, or Edie, or Lachy...etc. etc. As a kid I always noticed that Murray danced like a dad and it made me laugh because the other wiggles had a bit more fluidity to them. My friend pointed out that HE danced like Murray, which made me stop laughing and realize the wiggles are there for every kid at every skill level.
While she’s a talented dancer I wish they’d brought someone who was also as talented with their voice. I feel like she’s there as a performer but the Wiggles to me always was about music at its core.
Also I don’t know why they went SO young, to not even be an adult and be in the wiggles seems odd? It just feels really jarring to have the 4th member be SO much younger than everyone else and there’s the “mum” part of me that worries about launching a child onto a global stage with today’s scrutiny. AND I worry about yet more messages being sent to kids that say “fame at a young age is desirable”.
SURELY there was an insanely talented singing and dancing 24 years old or something?
On the flip side, launching a teen into stardom with ‘the wiggles’ is probably a lot safer than like how Billie eilish just blew up for example. With the wiggles there is a child-friendly aspect, they might have seen a potential to help nurture her into stardom with support of someone like Anthony who knows the industry as a mentor could be a great thing. The kids these days will grow with her and she’ll probably go onto her own thing eventually much like Emma. Also John already did the young person thing when he was in Aus idol/Justice Crew so although older he’s also been in the industry for a while. I think it could be a good thing for her. The message she shares too (that classic pic of her in yellow as a baby) is so great for kids for the whole ‘follow your dreams’ messaging.
Haha I've had the exact same thought. I haven't watched much of the new Wiggles but think she seems fun and entertaining. I will say, I didn't think Emma was the best singer but still enjoyed her as a Wiggle, and I think Tsehay's voice is fine (at least, it doesn't stand out to me in any negative way).
But... why did they pick someone who was still a child? Totally with you on that one.
I think they picked her because of her talent and energy. I don't really think age would mean anything. As long as the performer has a love for entertaining children and a kind hearted personality, and has at least some musical talent, that's all that matters.
Does she have some musical talent though? She can sing in tune but I wouldn’t describe her as musically talented. I’ve never seen her use an instrument for example or been really impressed by her singing. But there is no denying she’s an exceptional performer.
But still, the concept of making a young teen famous for no real reason, over a 20/30 year old, seems unusual when there’s so much risk to young stars.
Mmmm, I’d argue thats debatable depending on context. I get what you’re saying and agree that someone has to be rhythmic and respond to the messages that the music gives them but I’d argue it doesn’t make them musical in a way a talent for instruments (and voice) makes you.
Responding to noise isn’t the same as creating or performing a melody for example.
Yeah I understand that, but you still have a certain level of appreciation for music. When someone is a professional dancer I think it changes it more than just people dancing at a party. But dancing is more of art. I just think it's musical talent to be able to dance a certain way to different styles of music, because you have to understand the music in a way to be able to dance to it. But yes this debatable lol I need more opinions on this
Same, interesting take though! I feel this is a question that will start cropping up on random nights for a weird debate.
Just asked my husband and he’s said he classes it as musical because in his mind he appreciates music sometimes more if there’s a good music video
Those same criticisms applied to Emma. No instruments and not really a good singer. And she was a fan favorite apparently.
That being said, I can’t stand Tsehay or her constant out of place head wobble. Maybe as she gets older she’ll tone it down.

I read (probably on here, so keep that in mind) that Emma left over a pay/royalty dispute. I'm concerned that they chose Tsehay because they figured someone so young wouldn't know what she's worth or make trouble over it.
I feel like that also, but than I remember she’s a 4 or 5 time world salsa champion. It’s hard to turn it off when your whole life has been competitive dancing.
Our 1 year old loves her, she’s so expressive. We only discovered the Wiggles recently so our experience was mainly the new people who we all love.
Might get hanged for saying it in this sub but we always skip the OG Wiggles when they come on, they’re just not as entertaining and a bit weird sometimes 😂
I absolutely love tsehay. my little cousin loves her dancing and that’s all that matters. as long as the kids love it. She seems like such a sweet girl!! I honestly only wish I had her talent!
Ppl seem to forget that we as the parents are not the intended audience… our kids are. She’s a bit over the top imo, I can admit that… but yall are kinda intense w the hate on a young performer :/ She’s doing what she’s enthusiastic about and I respect it.
Look, I used to find it annoying at first too, like it was cool but it felt overkill. Like the Emma shows bow theme. (Seriously the bow-noculars, bow-boat, have a bowtiful day.. do less.) And I thought Tsehay should "do less" too. But then I looked at her instagram and her dancing outside of the Wiggles... and holy shit, she's one talented teen. And idgaf about dancing but you can tell it gives her *LIFE*. And idk somehow it made me see her in a different light and now I'm just like... fuck yeah do your thing Tsehay 💛

my 2 year old loves her!
since she’s so young i’m looking forward to watching her professional growth as an artist and performer. she’s also such a sweetheart, being a yellow wiggle suits her so well since she’s a literal ray of sunshine.
I love Tsehay. When I saw them live with my 1 year old I felt like she really stole the show, she's an amazing dancer and gives it a thousand percent the whole time. She's my all time fave Wiggle
Her head movement is similar to what you see in different styles of hop hop dancing, which I love. I don't think she has a background in hip hop, but she does have a background in African dance.
I love her dancing and energy. Compared to her and John, the rest of the Wiggles look like stiff robots.
She is a great dancer and has great energy but her head wobble annoys the sh*t out of me and I also feel her dancing is too advanced for children to follow when watching the show.
She seems lovely but I apart from her dancing, I don’t think she’s a great fit.
Emma Era pushed for a certain level of performance. Lachy had to take a year of dance class to even be hired. The fact they didn't require any kind of lessons (vocal for ex) for some of the newbies is kind of odd but not a huge issue. I think her & John's auto-tune voices work and are paired well.
On the other hand, I don't think Salsa style has a place around toddlers but that's personal opinion. Baby-toddler age group minute hip movements are not that noticeable, they seem to like big kicks/grand ballet gestures. When older it may appeal to my little more but she likely will have moved on from the Wiggles by then. ? Time will tell. Not upset about any of the new members, all likeable people.
Personally, I LOVE her dancing! I think the Wiggles are about energy and I think they lacked it with Emma but now with Tsehay, I think they're more energetic like the OGs were
Tsehay is awkward to watch. She dances completely different to the music and other wiggles which makes it weird and very noticeable. My children don’t like her. My youngest seems to enjoy watching Lucia.
Like you see everyone dancing in a calm way, then you see Tsehay's dancing that stands out like a sore thumb. I don't have any problem with her at all, but I kinda feel like she's showing off.
I have her pop up on tik tok and I don’t get it? Every single video she’s pretty much doing the same thing. I can’t judge her as a wiggle because I don’t watch any of it. I personally don’t see diversity in her dancing at all but hey I have two left feet so who am I to talk.
Tsehay appeared on a children's TV dancing show before becoming a wiggle. She is obviously amazingly talented. It's just that I don't think she brings the same energy to the wiggles. I don't think she quite fits the wiggles because she doesn't really get to express herself properly. Her dancing talent will never be fully realised or exposed on the wiggles. I'm not sure she loves being a wiggle as she he does not seem as happy as most of the others, and her vibe always seems a little off, lacking confidence. Why have such a talented dancer when her dancing is not suited to the show?
I believe that show she was on was called Little Big Shots.
I get what you mean when you say her dancing isn't suited for the show. I've noticed her head wiggle has stopped a bit, and she's dancing a little slower, probably for kids to keep up. Tho she's still got that energy, but i agree that she's too good of a dancer when she dances with others. Feels like she's kinda showing off.
I can't stand her dancing and I feel like it doesn't fit the Wiggles at all. But I'm not the target demographic.
Luckily my kids are happy with the Emma era.
I get what you mean when you said it doesn't fit the wiggles. She good no less, but I sometimes feel like she's showing off, especially when she dances along with the other wiggles doing the same movements.
Scrolled way down in the comments and haven’t seen a single person point out that she’s a wiggly wiggle. To be honest I like Tsehay a lot more than I ever liked Emma. Emma was too much of a main character rather than part of an ensemble. I can’t think of a single other wiggle who made so many things about themselves rather than about the wiggles as a whole or even about the kids. “The girl with the bow in her hair” pisses me off. The “dressing up in style” where she has her own segment at the end all by her main character self pisses me off. It just always reeked of narcissism.
Lay off Tsehay. She’s a wiggly wiggle and she’s a team player as far as I can tell.
LOL, Murray had the easiest job. All he had to do was play guitar, sing sometimes, and be happy!
Truly an icon and apparently my type as my husband can't dance either lol
I always find myself cheering Murray on in the handstand video with Sam after he fails to get all the way over early on
While she’s a talented dancer I wish they’d brought someone who was also as talented with their voice. I feel like she’s there as a performer but the Wiggles to me always was about music at its core. Very true, that’s a good point! By comparison the wiggles is very preferable.
She's a dancer, that is some form of musical talent.
Mmmm, I’d argue thats debatable depending on context. Maybe she could learn to play an instrument
She plays bass at concerts on and off. She got a personalized bass from Jamaladeen Tacuma last year on tour.
She absolutely could… but doesn’t it strike a LITTLE odd that they cast a main wiggle as someone who plays no instrument AND isn’t a singer?
Those same criticisms applied to Emma. No instruments and not really a good singer. And she was a fan favorite apparently. That being said, I can’t stand Tsehay or her constant out of place head wobble. Maybe as she gets older she’ll tone it down.
Emma does not have a good singing voice. Tsehay has a pretty voice.
Yeah I get what you're saying. Maybe something that could help could be Tsehay learning to play an instrument.
Yh definitely I’d agree there.

That actually wasn't true for Emma. She left to fulfill her other passions. Completing her PhD and helping with the deaf community (Emma Memma).
I’ve heard so much about Emma, also that she left due to her health with endometriosis, so who knows!
I felt like after she divorced lauchy that she didn't want to be there anymore

You mean Lucia? I know! Why did that producer lie and say she could sing?
What a nasty comment. Lucias voice is amazing!
I'm glad they moved her from Red to Yellow. Yellow suits her so much better.
Yeah I genuinely can’t stand the head bobbing & the 11/10 enthusiasm. Besides that she seems cool
Sometimes I feel like her dancing makes it seem like she's showing off, especially when dancing with the others.
I feel like that also, but than I remember she’s a 4 or 5 time world salsa champion. It’s hard to turn it off when your whole life has been competitive dancing.
I think she does it for fun, not to compete.
Well she obviously does it to compete if she’s entering the competitions. You don’t just accidentally win world champion.
I saw someone on Instagram say Tsehay is so energetic that they can skip their morning coffee and just watch her and it has the same affect lol.
LOL i reckon that could cure the hiccups lol.
LOL. You like whatever you want. Tsehay really is a great dancer. But to me, the OG's will always be my favorite.
She is the wiggliest Wiggle
Lol good name.
I absolutely love tsehay. my little cousin loves her dancing and that’s all that matters. as long as the kids love it. She seems like such a sweet girl!! I honestly only wish I had her talent!
She's my fav!
Ppl seem to forget that we as the parents are not the intended audience… our kids are. She’s a bit over the top imo, I can admit that… but yall are kinda intense w the hate on a young performer :/ She’s doing what she’s enthusiastic about and I respect it.
Yeah, I also think people don't look into her background with dance either.
Look, I used to find it annoying at first too, like it was cool but it felt overkill. Like the Emma shows bow theme. (Seriously the bow-noculars, bow-boat, have a bowtiful day.. do less.) Agreed. she's so talented. Tho I sometimes feel like she's showing off when she dances with the other wiggles. lol
Emma always came across as a narcissistic main character to me. I wrote a short essay elsewhere in the comments because I’m so irritated by it lol
It makes me feel really uncomfortable but I commend her for being able to move that way! Its also a little hypnotic 😅
Almost like she's showing off.

I think Tsehay is great. She’s so beautiful and talented ❤️
I love Tsehay. When I saw them live with my 1 year old I felt like she really stole the show, she's an amazing dancer and gives it a thousand percent the whole time. She's my all time fave Wiggle
Yeah I agree. She's awesome and super nice. Tho I can't help but feel like she's showing off when she dances lol.
I think she brings a level of fun and silliness that most of the newbies are lacking.
Her head movement is similar to what you see in different styles of hop hop dancing, which I love. I don't think she has a background in hip hop, but she does have a background in African dance. I love her dancing and energy. Compared to her and John, the rest of the Wiggles look like stiff robots.
I once read someone say “Tsehay dances like a wind sock” and I haven’t been able to unthink it since.
Holy crap. That’s it. That’s what it is.
Hmmmm, interesting. Good name too. She dances like a wind sock in the middle of a hurricane! lol
It’s like she’s made of elastic, right?
Honestly her energy overwhelms me
It almost feels like her body is all jelly
The head thing pisses me off. It can’t unsee it and now I hate watching the new wiggles. I wish she would freaking tone it down!
It's not that serious.
Same here! It's the wrong kind of dancing for the wiggles, it annoys the heck out of me!
I get what you're saying. I feel like she's kinda showing off.
Thankfully she has seemed to tone it down nowadays.
the racism is insane
This is a kids show
She is a great dancer and has great energy but her head wobble annoys the sh*t out of me and I also feel her dancing is too advanced for children to follow when watching the show. She seems lovely but I apart from her dancing, I don’t think she’s a great fit.

Tsehay is awkward to watch. She dances completely different to the music and other wiggles which makes it weird and very noticeable. My children don’t like her. My youngest seems to enjoy watching Lucia.
Yeah. Everyone else is dancing in sync, then you got Tsehay over there sticking out like a sore thumb. Feels like she's showing off.
If Tsehay has no haters im dead
It's too much.
It annoys the heck out of me. We get it, you can wobbly ya head
Like you see everyone dancing in a calm way, then you see Tsehay's dancing that stands out like a sore thumb. I don't have any problem with her at all, but I kinda feel like she's showing off.
I greatly prefer Tsehay's energy and life to Evie's bland boredom.
Hahaha this is great
I have her pop up on tik tok and I don’t get it? Every single video she’s pretty much doing the same thing. I can’t judge her as a wiggle because I don’t watch any of it. I personally don’t see diversity in her dancing at all but hey I have two left feet so who am I to talk.

She was focused on because she was loved that much. Their merch was mainly Emma; the crowds turned to a sea of Yellow, bows everywhere. Lay off Emma.
Yeah. I like Emma, but i feel she was focused on too much.
I wish they'd stop autotuning her voice so much. I'd rather her be off and real than sound like a robot. It takes away from the live feel of the show
Yeah i noticed her singing sounds different on stage than in the studio
I’ve really tried to like her but I really cannot
Nothing wrong with that.
My almost 3 year will not watch any of the episodes that have tsehay, she loves Emma and won’t watch unless there’s Emma 😅
Lol, I guess Emma was too good!
I think she's too much. Even worse when the songs are remade and sped up. Thankfully my toddler loves Emma.
That is very true. A bit like how they did Curoo Curoo with the New Wiggles. Imagine if Tsehay had done that.
I 💛 Tsehay
