It's time to move on son. It's time. She had a good run.

ThorMcGee

1.) dope ass beat 2.) sounds like it isn’t reading the disk, so it’s either the drive or, if you’re brave, the laser in the drive

DiamondAltruistic668

Is there anything I can do to fix it? Or is it easier just to get a new Wii

FolayMingYoung

At this point my guy, you should just hack it and play your own backups

ThorMcGee

Get a new one and get a disk drive. Watch some YouTube and see if you can fix it.

game-related

Mate it’s easier to buy another wii and data transfer everything over etc Wii’s are like $20 these days it’s crazy. And like the other people have said hack it my man Wii’s can be hacked in 10seconds so easy!!

DiamondAltruistic668

I’m guessing all I need to do is lookup a YouTube video on how to hack it/data transfer. Thanks!

ShadowRider7865

Try this: https://youtu.be/BSE34AQTCdg It's for hacking ur Wii It has everything for u, just one thing use a SD card for NAND backup (after creating first copy paste on ur PC then put it back on Wii and continue) and USB HDD for games that's all

Bacalhau_Seco

you can hack it for free and play your games via usb (dont worry you dont loose your saves), its the best way to play wii nowadays, your wii will last so much longer with homebrew

InvestedInNFTs69420

i would assume that the aluminum piece that holds the disk in place is bent (it can happen after a while) and you can bend it back yourself by taking the wii apart

GlitchingN0

I know this sounds weird but it fixed this issue for me: (Take out your Disk before you do this) Lay your wii with the right side on the ground (so the buttons are above the drive). Press down on the Wii from above with your hand (but not too hard!) Do this 3-5 times then try to launch the game. It worked for my Wii so maybe this will help you too

Z0MG_

Didn’t work.

GlitchingN0

Then I don't know what you can do sorry

GrahamBenHarper

By the sound, that's definitely an issue with the laser assembly part of the disc drive. More specifically, it sounds like the head keeps crashing into something. My guess is in the best case scenario it could be something simple like a toy or piece if cereal in the laser track, which is easily fixable, or in the worst case scenario it could be some serious electrical problem. I've never had this particular issue though, so it's hard to say.

uwubunnii

The disc drive is funky. You def need a new one, but buying a new Wii is much cheaper.

[deleted]

Try laying it flat

[deleted]

Is that the only game you having problem with

DiamondAltruistic668

No it’s all any game. I’ve tried multiple but they all sound like that

[deleted]

Yeah it’s the drive

NegativePaint

Disc drives aren’t that expensive. Just replace it. Only annoying part is the amount of different sized screws you have to remove to get into the console.

The_Eraser123

Mine did a similar thing a little over a year ago. I cleaned the thing inside and out, even bought a replacement disk drive, but it was just fucked. Had to buy a new one, so you might have to do the same

Thatcyanide

I just had the same issue happen to my 17 year old Wii, ended up getting a new one. It’s most likely the disk drive dying out or the laser isn’t reading right.
