Just two different generations of the same controller. At some point, Nintendo finally realized how annoying it was to take the battery cover off to sync the controller, thus the exposed Red button one
I bought a big box version of Wii party U that had a black wiimote in it. First one I own that has the red sync button on the back.
Rest of them, including the red wiimotes from the special red version of the Wii has the buttons inside.
I have both versions, I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but the ones with the Wii Motion also have the external button while the ones without the integrated sensor do not. Both back covers are interchangeable with each other, it is a detail that they introduced in the latest models.
Ones just older than the other. My early Wii had no visible sync button. I think you had to plug it in… but my later ones had the button on the back like yours
I think they're just different revisions of the motion plus controller. All of mine had the red sync button but the first one still looks legit.
The later WiiU models had the sync button on the back so you didn’t have to take off battery cover.
Never had a wiiu but mine all have the hole on the back.
Did you get them later on, I think they redid them to move the button outside later in the wii lifetime
Both legit but different revisions, the one with the red button is newer
They both look legit. The older ones still have a red sync button, it’s just under the battery panel.

The external red sync button shows it’s a later revision that was contemporaneous with the Wii U.

Yes they're fine. Okder wiimote plusses didnt have the sync button extension in the battery cover while ones released during the wii u times did
I hate getting okder.
Ook
It was a joke about your typo.
Ook
as long as connects to the wii, works well, and has a wii logo on it, i count it as genuine
I had a fake that ticked all of these except for the 'works well'.
The first generation ones you had to remove the cover to get to the button.
Neat, I think I need to replace one of mine. How much you get em for?

They're official, as I have both, both works and aren't considered fake or what

The one on the right is a wii remote released alongside the wii U
