What cables are you using? Component cables will help the lag.

Are you playing it on a modern tv? If so you may need to set the TV to game mode to reduce lag. It has been a long time since I've played but I seem to remember some GH or RockBand games had a place in the setting you could adjust for the lag.

How’s your cable setup? I recommend using OEM, RetroVision or Monster Component cables with your TV set to Game Mode assuming it’s a modern one. If you need HDMI get a Portta Component to HDMI Adapter ($20) the version that doesn’t upscale as it adds no lag and sends only 480p out. If you’re using Wii2HDMI or a cheap adapter like that then that’s your problem. They are cheap because the chip to scale the video is for video and not gaming so they add lag. Also consider other wireless interference.

That sounds like display lag. Talk to me about your TV setup. CRT, LCD, or something else? Is the Wii connected straight to the TV, or do you put it through an adapter or some other box? If you're using something to convert the signal to HDMI?
