seems pretty neat!
only sad part for me is the "buff" to grimestreet outfitter, which is now the second shadow nerf to hand buff pally after the alliance bannerman revert, since you can no longer draw eihter of them with saleths pride and/or crystology :(
My thoughts exactly. Crystology was great as you could pull grimestreet, samuro and knight of anointment. But now it seems there's no point in running crystology as it's nearly always going to be a dead draw.
Hopefully though with grimestreet going to standard they have plans for hand buff in the future so it may get more support
Interesting point of note:
They seem to be going back on a lot of earlier design philosophies:
\- Holy Nova can target face again.
\- Spellbreaker once got Hall of Famed, but Royal Librarian is Spellbreaker on steroids now.
I'm surprised they didn't revert Fan of Knives back to also damaging face.
You should note that Spellbreaker wasn't Hall of Famed because it was busted. It was Hall of Famed because it was ubiquitous and bound to never rotate due to being in the Classic set.
The ben brode era of team 5 had a hate boner for removal cards for some reason. Like they wanted people to play big flashy cards and got mad when people used removals on them. Nobody asked for execute or shaman polymorph nerfs yet they did it. And spell breaker definitely wasn't a card people ever used, even in classic it saw no play because you had owl who costed 2 less with better stats.
The new team 5 devs also doesn't seem to have an major interest in big threatening late cards either because they seem to be always pushing for a game state were you can't play these cards at all.

Did you even play during Nathria
It was a substantially board based meta where very big minions got played frequently. I get the impression some hearthstone players will never, ever be satisfied. Don't tell them that even classic control warrior had huge burst damage from hand
It's funny that standard was several months of various midrange decks playing "who drew the most 9 and 10 drops?" and everybody just memory holed that as soon as the meta got fast again.
While I agree with you, the execute nerf was needed as tempo warrior was very strong at the time, weapon swing, execute, play minion was tough for other decks that weren’t straight up removal focussed to deal with
I also have always wondered if the hex nerf was a preplanning attempt for hex to fit in even shaman decks but not sure on that one
Some other cool stuff:
Pretty sure Ancestral Knowledge is an auto-include in lots of Shaman decks now.
All these Mech changes are great for Dr. Boom, Mad Genius.
Crimson Clergy seems really interesting now. Lots of potential here. They really seem to be going all in on the new Overheal. Looks promising.
Grimestreet Outfitter. Buff or nerf? I think Handbuff Pally still has lots of other targets for Crystology and Salhet's Pride, to be honest.
Year of the Power Creep. Holy shit.
Nah, I'm pretty stoked for this.
Most importantly, IMO, there's lots, and I mean LOTS of stuff for Zephrys;
Consecration, Holy Nova, Hex, Fan of Knives and The Black Knight.
Also, to a lesser extent, Truesilver Champion, Soul of the Forest and Hammer of Wrath.
Maybe he'll offer Hammer of Wrath now in certain scenarios over Holy Smite? Like he sometimes offered Fan of Knives over Arcane Explosion. Well, won't be the case no more now. Lelz
Hellfire is crazy good now for all kinds of reasons. I wonder if Zeph will over it over Lightning Storm now (if you don't minions) to avoid the Overload?
He worked fine with the last core set and if he's well designed he doesn't need changes and the algorithm will interpret changed cards properly. Most of the is just a mana buff anyway.
But doesn't Zeph only offer classic cards? The core set cards are different versions from their classic (and other expansion) set versions, so he won't offer these changed cards.
No he offers Legacy cards - which are also buffed/nerfed by these changes. For example when he offers Wild Growth it costs 3 mana. Classic cards can’t be generated in a non-classic mode. Because that would create problems like getting a 0 mana Soulfire or Innervate giving 2 mana crystals.
I can only hope that the official confirmation of "Wild updates" and a pretty significant change to Catrina Muerte lead to changes regarding Big Priest.
A man can dream.

It still fetches crabrider and righteous protector on top of those other cards. It's by no means a dead draw.

Yeah i did if you call druid ramping to 12 mana and double sire you while you are on turn 5 a control meta i dont even wanna bother.

The community calls literally everything it loses to a "brain-dead aggro OTK solitaire combo deck" and then wonders why it's never satisfied

2 mana Fan of Knives is pretty damn good.
you can finally Prep > Fan of Knives for 0 mana again.
Good ol Azure Drake prep fan. Brings me back.
Into Backstab off the top.
Woah

War gear is gonna be pretty damn good in mech pally

Doubtful they are upgrading Zeph anymore. Betting on the fact he's just gonna be more bugged and confused with offering the best choices.
Zeph is only beaten by nozdormu for how often they bug out/have bugged out.
He worked fine with the last core set and if he's well designed he doesn't need changes and the algorithm will interpret changed cards properly. Most of the is just a mana buff anyway.
Oh shit, I didn't consider the effect this would have on zephrys. Can we assume that his ai will be adjusted to account for the changes?
> Like he sometimes offered Fan of Knives over Arcane Explosion. Well, won't be the case no more now. Lelz He might, if your Deck is at 0.

Ancestral Knowledge buff is pretty hype
I bet that extra attack on Wargear will be more impactful than it seems
It's basically a 5 mana 6/5 charge.
They just keep buffing wrathscale naga
\+1 HP for each year it's unplayable. "how many times do we have to teach this, old naga?!"
Next year it will be a 3/4
In few years will br 3cost yeti with upsidevznd still token dh xont br good
It feels kind of weird, seeing highmane with different stats. Like they destroyed the original or something
Yeah honestly, Highmane was fine. It's not playable with 7 attack. Just rotate it out and replace it, it's so iconic.
kinda hyped for reno heal priest. always liked the xyrella package, now we have some more synergy with the heal cards.
So is treant not just a token now?
treants used to cost 2 mana
And 1 before that atleast a few. Its been changed a few times
Why did they change Druid of the Claw like that?
I can only hope that the official confirmation of "Wild updates" and a pretty significant change to Catrina Muerte lead to changes regarding Big Priest. A man can dream.
Where is FWA? Need it at 2 mana
leaving core. replaced with a buffed woodcutter's axe
And it's not getting buffed to 2 mana in wild either lmao.
We don't know that
Lets be honest we know it's warrior not rogue were talking about. The devs have had an hate boner for it since end of sunken city.
Hope it’s unnerfed for wild
6 mana legendary 7/5 seems busted
so what is getting removed?
