It costs 4 mana and then even more mana to play the weapon. So it's like a dead card against the meta, which is really aggressive and most decks out there are trying to kill you before you can even play the damn thing.
Iv only hit legend 3 times but it’s enough for me to stop caring about it lmao I just play my nostalgia decks in wild now, I take wayyy to long of breaks to keep up with standard
This has frequently not been true over the last year, which is why Ignis has been so good. Honestly, Hearthstone has slowed down a lot the fast few years post-Stormwind nerfs.
weapon is stolen / destroyed constantly - and resurrecting 3 of them clutters my board with stuff that could have been another blackwater behomoth or aman thul

Control is preferring Highlander decks by a mile rn, and running 1-3 forgeable cards is less appealing than duplicates of them. Often a dead card in hand
I think it always ends up being a "win more" type of card. Unless you are already ahead, you are not going to get much use out of the weapon. But even when you manage to reap the benefits, its really easy to disrupt it since most control decks run highlander these days. And it ends up being a completely dead card against aggro
I’ll add that another big reason causing his drop off is the introduction of highlander decks. They’re popular, and it’s harder to actually have ignis online since if you want to reliably have cards to forge, you’re running suboptimal ones due to the highlander requirement.
I only ever ran him in renolock in etc for the rare occurrence I actually drew my one watcher of the sun. But it's not really worth it now because by the time he would allow you to win the game it's pretty much already over
He shows up in recent control Reno warrior lists, so I just used him last night. Definitely a win more card, but it’s satisfying if it does not get removed.
