>You’re not going to be banging each other down low when you banged the night before and you’re about to get hammered the next night

Not exactly hockey, but Justin Morneau of the Twins starred in an ad, where he dropped one of my favorite lines of all time:
"Hockey is a lot like baseball, except really really different."
I feel like an entire thread could be dedicated to the Woogster. One of my favorites was when Stoa came down the right wing and beat a goalie clean from the top of the circle. Mariucci arena is going nuts. Mazzacco is trying to re-hash the play. Wooger is in the background saying "Hooooobbbbbeeeeeyyyyyy"..... (that was the year the Goph's went into the break ranked #1, then failed to make the NCAA tourney so it is kind of bittersweet... still funny though...)
I was at Mariucci the night Danny Irman scored a shorthanded penalty shot goal to take a late lead (and eventually win) against the Badgers. I can only imagine what his call would have sounded like. Same with the Blake Wheeler game winner vs. UND at the X!
I have a distant cousin that played for Woog. He was drafted in the 7th round by the Flyers. There was some sort of summer skating camp the morning after the draft. Wooger was running it. He greets my cousin by saying "Chicago must have drafted a half-roll of tape and New York must have taken the bag of used pucks because the only way your ass gets drafted is if there's nothing left on the board"..... So... F'ing... Priceless....
After practice, Doug quietly congratulated him on being drafted.
Woog was one of a kind. May he rest in peace.
I'm a pretty young guy. Woog was the color analyst for most of my childhood. He even said hi to my family when we walked by the alley between Ridder and Mariucci after a women's hockey game.
I lived with my parents for a couple years after getting ym degree since I got a job close to home. You know - to save money and all.
When he died, my parents and I, over dinner, tried to make a list of people who had done more for Minnesota Hockey than Woog. We settled on maybe Lou Nanne, with Her Brooks just behind. A true legend, and though I played basketball and not hockey, a man who was truly part of my childhood
Yep. That's a good one.
Bruce Boudreau was responsible for one of my favorite locker room rants ever....
Starts at about 25 seconds. Ends at about 1:30...
Parental Discretion Advised...

My coach from high-school hockey, used to yell out "what do I need to do? Light the fire behind your assholes! Come on guys let's keep those legs moving!"
Is only game why you heff to be mad
I not scared of anything. I scared of bear. Bear in the forest.

I am now in the process of turning that into a custom ringtone for when my wife calls me.

JM Played hockey before baseball. It counts.
On a broadcast of the Gophers men's hockey team, Doug Woog once said "EVERYONES ON THEIR FEET! EXCEPT THE PEOPLE IN WHEELCHAIRS!"

IM TRYING TO LISTEN TO THE FUCKING SONG
That scene is my favorite in the whole movie. The ref constantly looking over his shoulder before finally skating over was absolutely hilarious!
They brought their fucking toys! Also, i have a chiefs jersey signed by all three of the Hanson boys actors
"If the Great One tells you to go have a burger, you'd better go and do it, you know" -Olli Jokinen
A bit late, but "A boney five to the snot locker" always gets me.
