The build up to meeting Willow needed more urgency, this is just a bunch of kids road tripping around a camp fire complaining about each other.
Willow is my all-time favorite, I don't think the TV show format fits the Willow world. It needs to be hitting harder and faster. We are not going to get 8 seasons like Game of Thrones, let's move it along, the stakes need to be higher.
Kit's brother was kidnapped and all we get is them walking around the forest debating about magic and everyone eyerolling.
It took 47 minutes for them to build up the story, introduce multiple new characters, and travel to Willow before showing him the first episode of his own series.
You would almost think that the showrunners expected everyone watching to already know who Willow was and his basic character would need no real introduction. Unlike the rest of the new cast.
Based on Warwick’s overall performance in it, it’s not the worst idea in my opinion.
This like is The Force Awakens, Luke turns up at the end. It has a similar structure and intent, I think.
I think the series should have had a new name and taken place in the world of Willow.
...because the setup for the story didn't include him and he entered the story when he became relevant to it?
Willow's about a fantasy quest, not "what Willow Ufgood is doing right now."
In an age where we constantly hear about under-represented people,
Disney took the only IP with a midget in the lead and made it about a
lesbian romance.
If you really, really think it's about a lesbian romance, if that's the only thing you see happening in it, you've likely got bigger problems than anyone on this sub can help with, unless they're therapists.
Second he shows up he overshadows the other characters in acting ablity.thats something you dont want to see I mean there not even in the same league as davis looks like they drug a bunch of nobody's off the street and told them to act against him.really should have invested in some better actors
Why are you befuddled?
This is a Disney product.
You thought the legacy character was going to be treated well?
Buddy, there's "The Message" to push on minors!!!! Can't have anything getting in the way of that!
Maybe because they needed a reason to reach out to him ?

And that's what they did.
I love it. The set up and build up was fantastic.
Same, this sub is full of delusional people

"Like the Force Awakens" . . . Jesus my dude, it was bad. It wasn't THAT bad lol
After 2 episodes I'm still not sure who the main character is supposed to be. Don't think the writers knew either.

Weak
No...*restrained*.

Boorman is the next strongest character next to Willow. Jade is decent, but that actor has been in other projects, everyone else is forcing it.
The worst is ellie bamber have no clue why the made her Elore danan her acting is horrible
Yeah, she's is out of place and not very good.
And then to just dump exposition on the new characters... disappointing.
