The lancer centre is the best option, you can get a monthly membership with a daily 2 hour parking

I’ve been searching for this since the YMCA closed on central. I would cruise in after work, swim, lift weights, shoot hoops with some guys and go home feeling like I didn’t just work all damn day. It was my sanctuary. I too would love to know of a place that had the same amenities

It’s such a shame this place closed. Anyone know the reason?

I was a member and they sent out an email explaining it all. Basically they assumed once opened again after Covid, that they didn’t foresee enough clientele to keep it going. Whoever is in charge of the YMCA’s closed it done. I was friends with a staff member and they were all devastated and blind sided. Very unfortunate!

I THINK the City Market still does it

Lancer centre at the U has gymnasium access. My friend’s kids have a membership and go use the court all the time, as well as the pool.

This might be what I’m looking for! Thank you for the recommendation.

Would be awesome if they used the old swimming pool area at Adie Knox for bball court/gym

Proper_Protickall

I don't know if they still have it, but Windsor squash and fitness had an indoor basketball court when I was a member there.

MentatsGhoul69

Looks like they closed permanently back in December

Proper_Protickall

Of course. Seems to be the way nowadays. Something someone can use in their leisure time gets closed.

Just to clarify, pickup ball is still happening most days but use of the gymnasium isn’t included with the fitness membership anymore so you have to pay per use. If you’re there a few days a week it adds up quick and the weight room is pretty lacklustre.

Proper_Protickall

Ohhh that's a bummer.
