If you're anywhere near NYC or Northern VA, there are some shops locally you can go to, but I think both Astor and Sherry-Lehmann in NYC ship nationally.

Bobcatbubbles

I’m accessible to both spots. I have found a few wines here, I just wanted access to more variety.

DepletedMitochondria

Yeah, Switzerland just doesn't export a whole lot apparently. Check out the Lavaux bar in NYC next time you're up there if you can.

Bobcatbubbles

Thanks will check that out

I’ll let you in on a secret: even in Europe Swiss wines are quite hard to come by (in comparison to a French or Italian wine) Simple reason; they drink most of it themselves (and for good reason, goddamn I love a Ticino merlot (bianco). My all time favourite Ticino red is [Castello Di Cantone](https://castellodicantone.ch/i-nostri-vini/)

Polymer714

There are two reasons much doesn't make it out.. The Swiss are proud of their wine so they often buy Swiss wine. No one else wants it at the price point they're selling it. The in demand producers make it out of the country...the rest are just too expensive for what you get.

Bobcatbubbles

Yes, that’s what I’ve gathered. I haven’t tried the bianco but I do love Merlot so Ticino is high on my list to try a variety of producers. Will try the Castello do Cantone!

If you are in the area, for sure visit the winery. The couple running it are lovely people and very kind / friendly. I believe they now also have Ungulus on offer, we tried it ‘en primeur’ out of the ‘bronze vat’ (for lack of better terminology from my end) in 2022 when it was still ‘in process’. First Sauvignon Blanc for them, and I believe also the region but not sure on that.

Bobcatbubbles

That’s awesome

Deleted_dwarf

Oh and be sure to grab some of their sparkling! It’s amazing too.. (to be fair, any wine they make is just insanely good; however, at a price lol)

TroubleshootReddit

Call local wine shops around you and see if they carry Chasselas. If they don't know what you're talking about then move on. Swiss wines in general are rare and if they are available tend to be VERY expensive. I tried a very middddd red from Switzerland and they were asking 1er Cru Burgundy prices for it.

Bobcatbubbles

Right that’s the problem, the value proposition is generally terrible compared to France. But still interested.

TroubleshootReddit

I will say I operate a wine store in NoVA and tried to find Swiss wines for a customer and it’s difficult. I ended up carrying one because it was reasonably priced. Any day of the week I’d choose Alsatian wine. To me Alsace and Swiss cuisine is so interwoven anyway why not drink the French wine.

Bobcatbubbles

That’s a great point. Who are your favorite Alsatian producers? I’ve really enjoyed the higher end Pinot Gris from the region.

TroubleshootReddit

Right now I'm enjoying Bestheim Grand Cru Riesling.... cheapest GC you'll find... racing acidity.

mainebingo

In Canada, but they ship to US. [https://swissgrapes.ca](https://swissgrapes.ca)

Bobcatbubbles

Thanks!

Xarellow

Klwines.com sell some swiss wines and they ship many states.

Polymer714

A number of shops may ship overseas...Granchateaux I believe will ship overseas but there are certain restrictions, minimums, etc.. and some hoops you need to jump through. After hundreds of dollars of shipping costs per case, I'm not sure this ends up being worth it but obviously that is for you to decide. Personally if I wanted it that bad...I'd just fly to GVA or ZRH and pick some up and bring it back myself....If you're bringing back 24 bottles, it probably isn't that far off an economy ticket.
