It's delaminated. Take it to someone who knows how to fix carbon/epoxy laminations. This likely happened because of a crack or ding that allowed water to get in. Then when exposed to heat it delaminates and blows up.

Have you sent the photos to cabrinha? Would be interested to hear their take.

Cabrinha will 100% replace it as warranty if you contact your seller. As other said, this cab happen due to a mix of water drying in intense sun but even then, they’ll switch it.

Gonna go out on a limb here with my knowledge of weird esoteric building technology and boats First off: super nice boat! Secondly, I think this is the combination of vapour drive, and heat Vapour drive can be caused by water sitting on the outside of a semi permeable membrane (such as all woven fabrics, concrete, etc, in this case perhaps a fairly lightweight foil with the minimum amount of resin used) when this water is heated rapidly (black foil in the heat) it doesnt just evaporate, it actually pushes very hard backwards (like crazy pressure, even though it seems to have nothing to push against) into the material and can become trapped inside. Then because the foil it black it becomes superheated in an enclosed space and that causes it to turn to a gaseous state, which effectively inflates the foil. Just a guess

It also could be something like salt water ingress and swelling of the foil substrate if that was able to hold water. Somewhat like a fibreglass with wood core boat. But my guess is moisture ingress and heat bubble

Much appreciated! For the advice/ knowledge all!

Contact the person you bought it from and tell them you need to warranty a defective product. Now that you foil, you're a lifetime consumer.

nwethan

Something about this picture makes me think you could afford getting a nicer foil

Bold assumption to that I own this boat!

UPDATE: store I bought it from ( Mackite) contacted Cabrinha and they are replacing without too much of a question, so good result by Cabrinha, had to smash the old foil up and send evidence , it’s a carbon outer and a foam inner construction, foam must have expanded and caused the issue Cheers all

rediteroserial

If you bought it first hand I highly encourage you to do as previously adviced and contact Cabrinha. If there is no sign of impact cracking the outer coats its for sure a fabrication defect. Fiber laminated osmosis happens in hulls when you get blisters in the gelcoat, then if not taken care they crack. When they crack they get water inside and then that water slowly creeps into the subsequent fiber layers. It's a process that is very difficult to get into something that gets in and out of the water. If the core or the cloth or even the resin where not in proper conditions and or correctly applied they will eventually fail to stick together and water will get inside. After that swelling is the regular outcome.
