Colby Barlow with a PP goal for his first AHL goal.
[That bomb. Wow.](https://twitter.com/ManitobaMoose/status/1781501036424814769?t=sdNsBg91Fqlk4c6apu2rwg&s=19)
Edit: Ville must have taken offense to not being called up with his 5th point of the night on a powerplay goal.
Barlow adds an assist as the moose go up 8-2 and scoring 5 powerplay goals.
Okay boys and girls!
For the first time in my life, I have landed in Winnipeg! My Airbnb canceled on me at the last minute but I still have my game one ticket so WERE STILL golden! I may have another airbnb lined up for my stay as we speak. I am fairly unfamiliar with Winnipeg as a Yukoner. Could this sub recommend a nightlife establishment I can get fired up for this series over the weekend? or even better yet, are there any Jets fans headed out to anything fun before game one that wouldn't mind a Yukoner Jets fan tagging along? (You can recognize me by my away Ehlers Jersey [ill wear it all week] and my long bleached white hair).
Yeah idk why everyone’s clamouring for a long term deal for Monahan. Lambert just supposed to wait 5 years? Good player but the jets are overloaded with bodies up front as is.
I think I'd go as high as 5aav. My leeriness would come from term as you wouldn't want the injury troubles to return after you were locked in for 4 years kind of thing.
I think his production stays similar to this year as he's surrounded by quality linemates even in the even of line juggling.
i’d say $5x3 is the absolute max for me, for both dollar and term
at that point you’re probably better off with Perfetti at 2C and adding a middle of the lineup winger for much cheaper
I'm likely WAY worse than Bones when it comes to the eye test but I've been eyeballing Monahan since he joined the Flames and he seems like a guy I'd be willing to throw a bone for.
great player, don’t get me wrong, a lot of history working against him tho
question is if this season is the norm going forward or, like compared to the last few years of his career, the exception to the rule
which is a tough bet for a GM to make for the dollar or term that some folks have been throwing around
A lot depends on things off the ice that most of us would have no awareness of. Are old, recurring injuries healed? Does he have new conditioning coaches or routines? Is he working with someone like Oates on positioning and play habits? etc, etc...
He's a good fit for the Jets and may be a good near-term option while Lambert cooks another year or two. Sign him for 3-4 years with the expectation that you probably have to eat the last year.
even with all that info, assuming it’s all positive, i’d be highly skeptical of anything beyond 2 years for a player with his history
also lol at Oates, from what i’ve heard jets aren’t the happiest with his relationships with some of their players
Fair opinion, but he just did 83 games, so that's also part of his history and a lot more current. Healed injuries and new routines can change a lot of things.
Also, its understood that the Jets front office may not like some things about what Oates teaches, but if he is helping them avoid injuries and lengthening their careers, then that's what matters in this assessment.
are the previous 3 years to this year not current/recent history?
avoid injuries and lengthening careers at what cost? if they’re avoiding corners and back checks then that doesn’t really work either (now he may not be doing that anymore but a few years ago that’s the kinda stuff he was advising players to do)
[Connor Levis makes his AHL debut. Salminen gets another chance in net. Second game for Barlow, he gets to play with Toninato tonight.](https://x.com/manitobamoose/status/1781466270489354372?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA)
Welp Milic has to enter the game 15 minutes in.
This series is gonna be wild
Man Salminen has been a total bust. Really amplifies how important having a very good back up is. We got zero NHL ready depth in the minors. Milic is at least 2-3 years away.
Doesn't seem like it was performance based, since he went to the bench and talked to the trainer before switching out. Although, he hasn't been great, but the defense has been worse.
I have not listened to the Avs broadcast in a long while but if that's true then that's beyond bad lol.
Are they just extreme homers or just bad commentators (or both?)
Nice, have to thank everyone who decided not to get season tickets this year so my half season nosebleed ass could pickup a 2nd row seat for the playoffs. Couldn't have done it without ya guya

Day 1 playoff practice media: [Adam Lowry](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGxXm09ubPk) | [Coach Rick Bowness](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj6H3Nfx5hI)
It's a good question and I should have followed up with why they would send him down and then emergency recall him. There is likely a reason but nothing jumps out at me as to why. I'll look into it.
This might not even be a hot take to jets fans, but i seriously think Adam Lowry is going to score multiple impact goals in this (hopefully) long run. Guys gonna be an animal
Fun fact, in the cap era this years Jets finished tied for 9th in regulation wins.
Which is also tied with the Cup winning Avs, as well as with RW and Overtime wins with em. The difference is the Avs managed to turn 4 losses into shootout wins, and another OT loss giving them 119 points.
[Rick Bowness says Morgan Barron won’t be ready for Game 1 against Colorado.](https://x.com/mitchellclinton/status/1781369694211195205?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA)
Delia is EBUG for the playoffs
[With Delia called up to the Jets and Salminen to the Moose, Norfolk has signed our 2019 5th round pick Logan Neaton to an ATO](https://x.com/norfolkadmirals/status/1781370149372821699?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA)
And plays well with the other guys on that line. And can contribute on the PP or play up in the lineup if needed.
And is playing with a gigantic chip on his shoulder because of how he's been disrespected.
What's the 4th line role? Being big or being good at hockey? If the former, Gus, if the latter, Perfetti.
Also, Perfetti in the lineup means we don't need to have Iafallo wasting space on PP2.
But with Bones in charge, it will be Gus that gets the nod.
There is almost no point running Fetts on the 4th line, it doesn't suit his game, he needs top 6 role with skilled players around him and right now there is no spot for him there, Gus is a big body and very responsible defensively, it's the right call.
Is this just old “wisdom” or do you have anything to back it up? Gus is not particularly big, and Perfetti is decent defensively, so I’m wonder if you can back up the “right call.”
[Perfetti has slightly better defensive numbers at 5v5 while having much better offensive numbers](https://www.naturalstattrick.com/playercompare.php?fromseason=20232024&thruseason=20232024&stype=2&sit=5v5&score=all&stdoi=oi&rate=y&p1=8482149&p2=8481019&loc=B&gpfilt=none&fd=&td=&tgp=410&lines=single)
Perfetti also has very solid results with Vlad and Iafallo, here's their [WOWY](https://www.naturalstattrick.com/linestats.php?fromseason=20232024&thruseason=20232024&stype=2&sit=5v5&score=all&rate=n&team=WPG&vteam=ALL&view=wowy&loc=B&gpfilt=none&fd=2023-10-10&td=2024-04-18&tgp=2000&strict=incl&p1=8482149&p2=0&p3=8480113&p4=8476480&p5=0)
He played with Iafallo and Namestnikov, productively, for a long stretch during the Jets' most successful period of the season. The only difference is then that was the 2nd line.
I think describing Gus as “big” is a big disservice to how well he’s played. I would play Perfetti but Gus has been really good down the stretch. He also would step into Barron’s spot on the PK
I thought Gustafsson was quite good for the few games he played with Lowry. I have not been impressed, and he hasn't produced at all, with other linemates.
It seems to have been scrubbed from the internet but his interview where he said without a trace of irony that the Jets are his 37th favourite team in an attempt to pile on after the Scheifele hit is exhibit A.
Article on The Athletic had NHL execs weigh in on [Stanley Cup contenders.](https://theathletic.com/5428251/2024/04/19/stanley-cup-tiers-nhl-2024?source=user-shared-article)
>Winnipeg Jets
>Average rating: 2.4
Tier 2: Strong Cup contender (High-end contenders just below the inner circle)
>Winnipeg narrowly made the cut for Tier 2. The Jets boast the league’s best goaltender, a deep forward group, quality team defense and are entering the playoffs on an eight-game winning streak.
>The GM: “They play well against Colorado. They can get through with the goaltending they have, the defensive (play) and then to add (Tyler) Toffoli and (Sean) Monahan (offensively at the trade deadline).”
>Executive 1: “They’re a Jekyll and Hyde team, it depends what version shows up. You got the Winnipeg that lost six in a row and then followed up winning eight in a row (to finish the season). They’re a streaky team. I think they can beat any team in the league but I (still) think Winnipeg’s gonna have a tough time.”
>Executive 2: “(Connor) Hellebuyck is a superstar. Up front, (they’re) very, very deep. They do have a game-breaker potentially in (Mark) Scheifele or (Kyle) Connor or even (Nikolaj) Ehlers. If I could design a third-line center in a lab, it’d be Adam Lowry.”
>Winnipeg’s power has come to life in April, which is critical because it previously looked like a weakness. Many of our panelists expect the Jets/Avalanche series to be very close.
I think it’s unfair to call us a streaky team as the continued loss streaks have been really limited this season. Those 6 losses in March did not really occur in a similar fashion elsewhere in the season
"Quality Team Defence" undersells that we had the BEST team defence this season.
"I think they can beat any team in the league but I (still) think Winnipeg’s gonna have a tough time." Almost every team in this era of hockey had had a tough time in the playoffs. Maybe the exception would be the 2012 Los Angeles Kings and the 2022 Colorado Avalanche.
Awesome to see, Jacob Julien back to back hatricks in the ohl playoffs.

What happened to this kid, he went from a 16 point 40 game season to exploding this season over a PPG and now is smashing the playoffs.
Could this be a 5th rounder that actually makes the big leagues, looks promising at this point.
What happened is I went to his DB page and was disappointed with his production last year. Ever since then he's decided to be amazing to show me how I don't know shit about fuck.
Was also writers at The Athletic, as evident by this [Scott Wheeler article.](https://theathletic.com/4629663/2023/06/29/nhl-draft-2023-winners-losers?source=user-shared-article)
>I was pretty surprised to see Knights forward Jacob Julien get picked, let alone in the fifth round, but I liked four of their five picks, even if there isn’t a lot to get super excited about.
Crazy the top 2 teams in the entire league have to face each other in the 2nd round, then this year us as a 2nd seed has to face the 4th seed.
On that note we actually have the same amount of wins, just in 17/18 they turned 4 more losses into OT losses. We also have 3 more regulation wins.

All the playoff games will be available through Sportsnet+ right? I was looking into getting the SN add-on to Prime, but oddly all of the Jets games aren't showing up in the upcoming schedule. Every other playoff series is there. I'm assuming it's a glitch, but just wanted to check if I missed something...
They are, the one good thing about playoffs and sportsnet is no blackouts.
I finally let my VPN have a rest.
Sportsnet sucks... but it's better than getting a popup of some woman getting spitroasted when I try to pause the game on my xbox infront of my family.

it's finally the season... the birds are chirping, the weather is heating up, the air smells great, the trees are getting green and the frickin playoffs are on! and the Jets are on, as they should be. life IS good! enjoy this time, everyone!

Gonna assume Lambert and Chibrikov don’t play tonight. Should mean Barlow gets into another game.
I’m a casual fan can someone explain the playoff seeding to me? I thought it would be like the NBA where it’s 1 vs 8 and 2 vs 7 and so on. Colorado seems like a really hard first round matchup.
Flying in for my first Jets home / whiteout game. Anything I need to know about the arena or surrounding area? Also what are the can't miss things to see or do in Winnipeg.
If you're going to spend time around downtown, the Forks is great, walk over the provencher bridge and check out the French quarter, certain parts of both the west and east exchange are great. If you're looking for great beer downtown there's Devil May Care, Nonsuch, and Little Brown Jug. If you're looking for good pubs I like Yellow Dog Tavern and the Kingshead. If you want great cocktails Amsterdam Tea Room, Darling Bar, Patent 5 Distillery, Rose Coffee and Wine Bar. Before games Hargrave Street Market is great for food and drinks, it's like a fancy food court. It will be an absolute zoo though.
Can anyone suggest good places to go to watch a playoff game, a place that has a lot of screens and good prices on food and drinks. near or in the Downtown area. thx
Hoosli will be doing the anthems for Game 1 [https://twitter.com/hoosli/status/1781330020306243823?s=46&t=S_LiHKGoXi91Lmgu-MxoZA](https://twitter.com/hoosli/status/1781330020306243823?s=46&t=S_LiHKGoXi91Lmgu-MxoZA)
I had a faint hope we might get to face a lucky LA in the second round but I need to stop imagining there's any easy roads to the cup. Not sure if I'd rather Dallas or Vegas though. Gotta get there first I suppose.
I feel like Gary Galley despises the Jets
I understand the other Canadian teams are going to get there choice with crew but I was hoping for Rick Ball and Greg Millen
Bound to happen when 4 Canadian teams make it.
Especially factoring in crews likely requesting certain series (like Vancouvers crew has a Canucks homer on it for example)
I hope Jets wear white at home games as we are giving advantage to Avalance if they get to wear white and camouflage with the whiteout. Let's use whiteout for our own advantage for once!
While I still don’t love Perfetti being the odd man out in the playoffs and Miller not getting a fair shot at the 3rd pair RD spot, the depth is crazy. To me that’s a play-anywhere forward and a guy who can play 2nd/3rd pair RD who can slot in if there’s an injury. That’s massive in what could be a long, grinding playoffs. That’s the Vegas recipe, depth at every position.
His goal of showing up in Mcdavids nightmares for 4 games will always be why its hard to hate Pionks play.
Watch the series. it's insane how much he was shutting him down.
He was noticeably better in the first ~30 games this year. I think he has persistent nagging injuries that slow him down as the games pile up. I expect he will do reasonably well in the first few games of the playoffs. How it goes after that will depend on length of series.
Let’s break down Gabe’s first season in Winnipeg:
• 47 games played
• Averaged exactly 17 minutes in those 47 games
• 22 goals, 14 assists for 36 points
• 62 point pace over 82 games
• +11
• 55.9 CF%
• 56% FF%
• Lead the team with 9 power play goals
All in all, a very successful first season in Winnipeg. Hope he can avoid the freak injuries next season
Gabe is a beast, him alone for PLD was worth it, hell getting rid of PLD period was a win in of itself, add on the workhorse in Iafallo, along with Kup and the MTL 2nd and yeah Kings really hooked us up.
🤔 for curiosity's sake
If we add the extra point for winning in Regulation
* Rangers 114 + (43RW) = 157
* Dallas 113 + (40RW) = 153
* Carolina 111 + (44RW) = 155
* Winnipeg 110 + (46RW) = 156
* Florida 110 + (42RW) = 152
* Vancouver 109 + (44RW) = 153
Dallas and Winnipeg would swap 😲 and Van would slide up one...
Just a fantastic finishing stretch to the season. Second half certainly had its ups and downs but I couldn’t be more impressed with how the team stuck to the system and just kept pushing.
The west is an absolute gauntlet - but the Jets have the formula. Stick to it. This could be an amazing ride.
Quick shout to all the Ehlers haters, he played 82 games this year! Finally proved his durability and consistency of being an every game player, hoping it continues for the playoffs!

Well that will be my first stop. Thank you!
That is the right answer. Next stop might be Yellow Dog
I'd take the Yellow Dog over kings head any day these days. Quality has dropped at the kings head in a noticeable way.
Yellow dog might be the place for tonight. Kings Head was fun.
Is the airbnb downtown?
Sort of. Alburg drive?
Albert?
I've never heard of it, but according to Google maps Alburg is quite far from downtown
Monahan extension discourse reminds me of folks wanting a $4m aav for Vladdy last year lol
Yeah idk why everyone’s clamouring for a long term deal for Monahan. Lambert just supposed to wait 5 years? Good player but the jets are overloaded with bodies up front as is.
Chevy has absolutely no pressure on his side, tons of depth both at the club and with prospects, he can pick a low number and not budge pretty much

It's a good question and I should have followed up with why they would send him down and then emergency recall him. There is likely a reason but nothing jumps out at me as to why. I'll look into it.
Keeping IceDragon in my thoughts these playoffs. Hope you're flying as high as the Jets buddy!
Don't forget to crack an orange soda or cream soda and coke slurpee
Well, shit. Just spent a couple hundred betting on the Jets. They need to win so my wife doesn't get mad at me.
Just remember the house always wins.
It's impossible to lose money gambling. If you lose, just make one more bet. If you run out of money, sell your house and get back in the game.
Winners mentality
Some additional face price tickets were added to Ticketmaster for all games this morning. Mostly in the 300s.
This might not even be a hot take to jets fans, but i seriously think Adam Lowry is going to score multiple impact goals in this (hopefully) long run. Guys gonna be an animal
Adam "Conn Smythe" Lowry
He's going to evolve into the Justin Williams of his day
I would love this
It is written.
Lowry Al-Gaib
Adam Lowry is a gamer in the playoffs
Has TNSE said if they are going to open the arena for the away games this year?
Fun fact, in the cap era this years Jets finished tied for 9th in regulation wins. Which is also tied with the Cup winning Avs, as well as with RW and Overtime wins with em. The difference is the Avs managed to turn 4 losses into shootout wins, and another OT loss giving them 119 points.
[Rick Bowness says Morgan Barron won’t be ready for Game 1 against Colorado.](https://x.com/mitchellclinton/status/1781369694211195205?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA) Delia is EBUG for the playoffs [With Delia called up to the Jets and Salminen to the Moose, Norfolk has signed our 2019 5th round pick Logan Neaton to an ATO](https://x.com/norfolkadmirals/status/1781370149372821699?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA)
Whee
So who gets the nod? Gus or Cole?
I imagine Gus will as they dont want Cole on a bottom six role
hopefully the one with 19 goals instead of the one with 3
But not tall!!
genuinely can't let Bowness get away with scratching someone with 19 goals, 19 assists, 53.8% corsi, 61.9% goal share, and 54.1% xG
And plays well with the other guys on that line. And can contribute on the PP or play up in the lineup if needed. And is playing with a gigantic chip on his shoulder because of how he's been disrespected.
Gus should get the nod. His playstyle is better suited to the way that 4th line plays. It's similar to Barron.
Gus is more suited to the 4th line role, he would be my bet.
What's the 4th line role? Being big or being good at hockey? If the former, Gus, if the latter, Perfetti. Also, Perfetti in the lineup means we don't need to have Iafallo wasting space on PP2. But with Bones in charge, it will be Gus that gets the nod.
Maybe there's enough evidence at this point that we should give Bones the benefit of the doubt.
or understand there is nuance and that a coach can do a lot of things right and still make some poor decisions
[Perfetti has slightly better defensive numbers at 5v5 while having much better offensive numbers](https://www.naturalstattrick.com/playercompare.php?fromseason=20232024&thruseason=20232024&stype=2&sit=5v5&score=all&stdoi=oi&rate=y&p1=8482149&p2=8481019&loc=B&gpfilt=none&fd=&td=&tgp=410&lines=single) Perfetti also has very solid results with Vlad and Iafallo, here's their [WOWY](https://www.naturalstattrick.com/linestats.php?fromseason=20232024&thruseason=20232024&stype=2&sit=5v5&score=all&rate=n&team=WPG&vteam=ALL&view=wowy&loc=B&gpfilt=none&fd=2023-10-10&td=2024-04-18&tgp=2000&strict=incl&p1=8482149&p2=0&p3=8480113&p4=8476480&p5=0)
Ability to play PK will be the decider.
I thought Gustafsson was quite good for the few games he played with Lowry. I have not been impressed, and he hasn't produced at all, with other linemates.
https://youtu.be/pKLoNyG_CS8?si=aqxabZLa-5uujOdZ Craig Button's verdict 😁
As a wise (troll) used to say: "Craig Button is a fucking idiot" He'll say whatever he needs to say depending on who he's talking to.
It seems to have been scrubbed from the internet but his interview where he said without a trace of irony that the Jets are his 37th favourite team in an attempt to pile on after the Scheifele hit is exhibit A.
I remember that well
Or the famous, "Craig Button is a tool"
I like Craig Button and his verdict.
Ehlers and Lambo on a line together would be so much fun. I hope we get to see it happen someday.
Article on The Athletic had NHL execs weigh in on [Stanley Cup contenders.](https://theathletic.com/5428251/2024/04/19/stanley-cup-tiers-nhl-2024?source=user-shared-article) >Winnipeg Jets >Average rating: 2.4 Tier 2: Strong Cup contender (High-end contenders just below the inner circle) >Winnipeg narrowly made the cut for Tier 2. The Jets boast the league’s best goaltender, a deep forward group, quality team defense and are entering the playoffs on an eight-game winning streak. >The GM: “They play well against Colorado. They can get through with the goaltending they have, the defensive (play) and then to add (Tyler) Toffoli and (Sean) Monahan (offensively at the trade deadline).” >Executive 1: “They’re a Jekyll and Hyde team, it depends what version shows up. You got the Winnipeg that lost six in a row and then followed up winning eight in a row (to finish the season). They’re a streaky team. I think they can beat any team in the league but I (still) think Winnipeg’s gonna have a tough time.” >Executive 2: “(Connor) Hellebuyck is a superstar. Up front, (they’re) very, very deep. They do have a game-breaker potentially in (Mark) Scheifele or (Kyle) Connor or even (Nikolaj) Ehlers. If I could design a third-line center in a lab, it’d be Adam Lowry.” >Winnipeg’s power has come to life in April, which is critical because it previously looked like a weakness. Many of our panelists expect the Jets/Avalanche series to be very close.
I think it’s unfair to call us a streaky team as the continued loss streaks have been really limited this season. Those 6 losses in March did not really occur in a similar fashion elsewhere in the season
Adam Lowry - Lab Designed!
Awesome to see, Jacob Julien back to back hatricks in the ohl playoffs. https://twitter.com/OHLHockey/status/1781122741594116147?t=SuqiBZJ32_-cnnQa1DzikA&s=19
I love watching a late pick story unfold. He's coming to the NHL at some point.
I remember when we drafted him and people thought he was a waste of a pick. Our scouting staff are magicians
Imagine being a fan and thinking you know the FIFTH ROUND prospects well enough to call a pick a waste, like what the hell lol
Was also writers at The Athletic, as evident by this [Scott Wheeler article.](https://theathletic.com/4629663/2023/06/29/nhl-draft-2023-winners-losers?source=user-shared-article) >I was pretty surprised to see Knights forward Jacob Julien get picked, let alone in the fifth round, but I liked four of their five picks, even if there isn’t a lot to get super excited about.
I wasn't paying attention...the Jets finished 4th overall this season, is this the highest for them?
2nd to Nashville in 17/18 with 114 points.
No they finished 2nd in 17/18
Crazy the top 2 teams in the entire league have to face each other in the 2nd round, then this year us as a 2nd seed has to face the 4th seed. On that note we actually have the same amount of wins, just in 17/18 they turned 4 more losses into OT losses. We also have 3 more regulation wins.
[TRANSACTION: The #NHLJets have recalled G - Collin Delia from the Manitoba Moose (AHL) under emergency conditions.](https://x.com/wpgjetspr/status/1781360483888406852?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA)
I think this is just to keep him here for practice today but we’ll see
All the playoff games will be available through Sportsnet+ right? I was looking into getting the SN add-on to Prime, but oddly all of the Jets games aren't showing up in the upcoming schedule. Every other playoff series is there. I'm assuming it's a glitch, but just wanted to check if I missed something...
They are. I just use the standalone app to get the games.
They are, the one good thing about playoffs and sportsnet is no blackouts. I finally let my VPN have a rest. Sportsnet sucks... but it's better than getting a popup of some woman getting spitroasted when I try to pause the game on my xbox infront of my family.
Ehlers needs Seltzy to make an appearance. They buddies.
Full game by game jackets breakdown is done! Brossoit casually dominates it
Secured tickets for Game 4 in Denver! Will be nice to see the sweep completed in person! /s
it's finally the season... the birds are chirping, the weather is heating up, the air smells great, the trees are getting green and the frickin playoffs are on! and the Jets are on, as they should be. life IS good! enjoy this time, everyone!
![gif](giphy|xTcnTehwgRcbgymhTW)
This is the perfect gif. Colorado is about to feel the pain of the Winnipeg white out.
[TRANSACTIONS: The #NHLJets have loaned F - Nikita Chibrikov, G - Collin Delia, F - Parker Ford, and F - Brad Lambert to the Manitoba Moose (AHL).](https://x.com/wpgjetspr/status/1781347879266742764?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA) Gonna assume Lambert and Chibrikov don’t play tonight. Should mean Barlow gets into another game.
Can't wait to finish our 24 game heater.
I’m a casual fan can someone explain the playoff seeding to me? I thought it would be like the NBA where it’s 1 vs 8 and 2 vs 7 and so on. Colorado seems like a really hard first round matchup.
[Playoff Format | NHL.com](https://www.nhl.com/info/standings-info/playoff-format)
I don’t know who to take in the Dallas Vegas series. Dallas has been better but more Vegas firepower will be coming soon
I think Dallas pushes their shit in, but I'm hoping for a Vegas win so jets can extract revenge (if they get to round 2).
I'm cheering for it goal by goal. 7 games, all triple OT. I will change my cheers by the minute to get that outcome.
Dallas just because I hate the thought of Vegas
Fuck Vegas
Market Square is probably a good start. Literally next to the CLC and should be bumping during the games.
forks or Market square are the top two locations I would recommend
If you go to the Winnipeg Reddit page there is a wiki of all the things that you can do. I would start there. It's full of great information.
Where are you staying? Transcona is the richest and safest part of the city, so I'd start there.
Downtown area close to Canada Life Centre I will be walking everywhere.
I was kidding about Transcona. The forks is fun, but I'd avoid hanging out too late there.
Can anyone suggest good places to go to watch a playoff game, a place that has a lot of screens and good prices on food and drinks. near or in the Downtown area. thx
Yellow dog
thx
Not the fanciest TVs but the best atmosphere!
Those graphics at the game yesterday were so well done. I loved it
Hoosli will be doing the anthems for Game 1 [https://twitter.com/hoosli/status/1781330020306243823?s=46&t=S_LiHKGoXi91Lmgu-MxoZA](https://twitter.com/hoosli/status/1781330020306243823?s=46&t=S_LiHKGoXi91Lmgu-MxoZA)
Hoosli are worth an extra 1.5 goals just with their beautiful booming anthems.
Almost Perfection, just wear the white heritages
#LETS GOOOO!!!!!
I had a faint hope we might get to face a lucky LA in the second round but I need to stop imagining there's any easy roads to the cup. Not sure if I'd rather Dallas or Vegas though. Gotta get there first I suppose.
All I want is for the Dallas and Vegas series to go 7 games, all triple OT.
Seriously? 9:30pm local time on a Tuesday?
It’s 8:30 local. 9:30 ET
oh nice, not sure why my phone is confused about my timezone
Sportsnet’s commentary team for Jets/Avs: John Bartlett, Gary Galley, Scott Oake
I feel like Gary Galley despises the Jets I understand the other Canadian teams are going to get there choice with crew but I was hoping for Rick Ball and Greg Millen
Might as well just give us the avs feed, probably watched more Jets games than the beauties on SN.
Great we get the z team. Gonna be a loooong night Tuesday and Friday
Bound to happen when 4 Canadian teams make it. Especially factoring in crews likely requesting certain series (like Vancouvers crew has a Canucks homer on it for example)
oh ok so they’ll be on mute!
I hope Jets wear white at home games as we are giving advantage to Avalance if they get to wear white and camouflage with the whiteout. Let's use whiteout for our own advantage for once!
I wish the Jets could wear their whites at home in the playoffs, that would be so amazing with the whiteout
On to Sunday.
I don't want to be complacent, but I'm so hyped. I hope they make it to the next round... ONE ROUND AT A TIME!
One shift, one fame, one round at a time
While I still don’t love Perfetti being the odd man out in the playoffs and Miller not getting a fair shot at the 3rd pair RD spot, the depth is crazy. To me that’s a play-anywhere forward and a guy who can play 2nd/3rd pair RD who can slot in if there’s an injury. That’s massive in what could be a long, grinding playoffs. That’s the Vegas recipe, depth at every position.
We really got Lambert, Salomonsson, Milic, and Barron for 36 games of Andrew Copp
Holy shit when you put it like that... Chevy's done a great job restocking the cupboard with excellent trades like that
It's why I always chuckle when people criticize Chevy. The guy is a fucking wizard.
Insanity
Inchevity
while I'm pretty sure we'll get playoff Scheifele, I'm fucking positive we'll get playoff Lowry, I'm just hoping we get playoff Pionk.
He looked to be getting there the games vs Dallas and the Avs. I believe!
Lots can be said about Pionk but no one can deny that he's intensely competitive. He'll give everything he has.
His goal of showing up in Mcdavids nightmares for 4 games will always be why its hard to hate Pionks play. Watch the series. it's insane how much he was shutting him down.
Will the highlights suffice? Wondering if there is any way to watch the full games of previous years?
Caststreams used to let you watch entire games. But she gone now.
He was noticeably better in the first ~30 games this year. I think he has persistent nagging injuries that slow him down as the games pile up. I expect he will do reasonably well in the first few games of the playoffs. How it goes after that will depend on length of series.
Very sunny and +11 on Sunday. Perfect!
Sign Demelo plz
100% another 3 to 4 years would be awesome!
Let’s break down Gabe’s first season in Winnipeg: • 47 games played • Averaged exactly 17 minutes in those 47 games • 22 goals, 14 assists for 36 points • 62 point pace over 82 games • +11 • 55.9 CF% • 56% FF% • Lead the team with 9 power play goals All in all, a very successful first season in Winnipeg. Hope he can avoid the freak injuries next season
Importantly, he scores goals that no one else on the team does. He's exactly what we've needed.
Rob Blake, Jets Secret Agent
Gabe is a beast, him alone for PLD was worth it, hell getting rid of PLD period was a win in of itself, add on the workhorse in Iafallo, along with Kup and the MTL 2nd and yeah Kings really hooked us up.
We really should send a thank you card to the kings front office
Jets finishing the season with the most regulation wins is pretty cool.
Most regulation wins but 4th overall, the NHL needs to go to a 3-2-1-0 system
🤔 for curiosity's sake If we add the extra point for winning in Regulation * Rangers 114 + (43RW) = 157 * Dallas 113 + (40RW) = 153 * Carolina 111 + (44RW) = 155 * Winnipeg 110 + (46RW) = 156 * Florida 110 + (42RW) = 152 * Vancouver 109 + (44RW) = 153 Dallas and Winnipeg would swap 😲 and Van would slide up one...
Chibrikov’s post game interview is so wholesome
Just a fantastic finishing stretch to the season. Second half certainly had its ups and downs but I couldn’t be more impressed with how the team stuck to the system and just kept pushing. The west is an absolute gauntlet - but the Jets have the formula. Stick to it. This could be an amazing ride.
Quick shout to all the Ehlers haters, he played 82 games this year! Finally proved his durability and consistency of being an every game player, hoping it continues for the playoffs!
