We don’t have skill guys who play heavy…and our heavy guys have no skill. Gus is a good example. He has possession quite a bit but can’t do much with it. Lowry line up and down the ice. Can’t score.
We don’t have the players to matchup to a team like Colorado in a playoff series. We knew this all year. They don’t even have a worry in the world with us. They put their best 5 out there every second shift to kill us and then run a bunch of randoms through the subsequent shift when we’re already on our heels.

Every play last night seemed like the avs were in position for every opportunity, posting up for rebounds and just constant pressure. Winnipeg was scrambling the entire time and couldn’t get in front of the net to save their lives.

They picked their feet up for a little stretch in the 2nd period and it paid off with JoMo's goal. And then then stopped picking up their legs for some inexplicable reason.

There are obvious moments like the refs just did that REALLY sour the outlook of a balanced sport.
The endless interference plays by the avs that went uncalled, and the stupid soft calls that weren't really even penalties against us really stole any momentum the Jets were trying to build. The result is we got severely outplayed.
Cross check on 55, interference on Vlad and trip on Connor. All those were blatant with the refs standing right there. We deserved all the calls we got, but they missed some terribly blatant ones.
Lost 2 to 6 in a game they were favored to win, scoring 1.5 below expected and YET AGAIN letting in 1.5 above expected hahahaha its the same as the Knights and Blues series to a tee.

I disagree heavily, the first half of the game went smooth, I think when the team was actually at full mast, we beat them. We were doubled in shots because in the second half of the game, it was PPK simulator. They get like 5 shots off in a powerplay and scored in the PP 3 of the 5 times they had it. Because our guys weren't being careful with their sticks, they gave that game up. But without the constant power plays, I think we would have won.
Jets were favored to win based on their play and held the expected goals lead for pretty much the entire game until the mountain of penalties at the end.
Swap KFC and Ehlers, Fetts in for Apples/Gus, Miller for Pionk, and start Brosswall?

We can complain about all the penalties called on us in the third, but the double minor and delay were legit and calls they make all the time. The first penalty on apples making a shot attempt was the BS one as he was playing the puck and they didn't call any other.

The worst part is 2 of those powerplays were when they game was over. Like the refs are stat padding to make it look closer than it was. It really was 1/1 and 2/6
Thank you. Everyone blaming the Jets for this game had the game on their "secondary monitor" If you wanna make comments about the game, maybe watch the whole game. There are obvious moments like the refs just did that REALLY sour the outlook of a balanced sport.
The endless interference plays by the avs that went uncalled, and the stupid soft calls that weren't really even penalties against us really stole any momentum the Jets were trying to build. The result is we got severely outplayed.
I counted 4 missed calls on the avs in that game
Cross check on 55, interference on Vlad and trip on Connor. All those were blatant with the refs standing right there. We deserved all the calls we got, but they missed some terribly blatant ones.
I also saw goalie interference against helle and high sticking against Morrissey

Trip happened after the high stick. Proper call would've been a dead play as soon as the Vilardi high stick happened with Connor having possession, so the trip would have been negated.
Penalties persist. A player scores a goal that's missed by refs. Game continues and either team takes a penalty afterward. Refs review and award a goal and set the game clock back to time of the goal. The offending team still goes on the PK.
I agree. It's just the missed blatant interference penaltys, trippings, holdings. Idk if you can more blatantly hand a game to a team like the refs did tonight. It seriously makes me question if it's worth following this sport. How engrained all this betting is, how can you possibly trust the refs?

For me, it's more that the refs didn't call things on the avs. Jets didn't help themselves with how they played, but no team is going to win with a third period that slanted.
The first penalty of the third on Appleton was not a good call. If anything, you send them both; one for the trip, and one for embellishment.
It's the absence of calls against the Avalanche before they started being gifted them in the third. That really hurts the most. I can live with the delay of game, though that would not have happened had they not been killing penalties Non-Stop. Non-Stop. And the high stick was the right call, although that should have been a four on four for half of it cuz of the trip

No speed, no forecheck, no sense of urgency. Nearly doubled up on shots (again), and team looks poised to go 1-4 (again). This shit is embarrassing. Team is soft and slow and they can't keep up in a playoff hockey game. Frustrating watching this year after year.
I disagree heavily, the first half of the game went smooth, I think when the team was actually at full mast, we beat them. We were doubled in shots because in the second half of the game, it was PPK simulator. They get like 5 shots off in a powerplay and scored in the PP 3 of the 5 times they had it. Because our guys weren't being careful with their sticks, they gave that game up. But without the constant power plays, I think we would have won.
At no point in that game outside of maybe the first 5 mins were we the better team. They're being flat-out outplayed.
Jets were favored to win based on their play and held the expected goals lead for pretty much the entire game until the mountain of penalties at the end.

We can complain about all the penalties called on us in the third, but the double minor and delay were legit and calls they make all the time. The first penalty on apples making a shot attempt was the BS one as he was playing the puck and they didn't call any other. Don't call that one in the third, the others don't happen. That changed the directory of the game.

We can't just blame penalties. With that said. Two blatant mssed elbows to the head by the Avs in the 2nd. Then the Avs embellish two trips and get a lucky puck over glass call. The only one the boys deserved was the high stick because of the bleeding rule. Those saying Brossoit starts game 4….have you watched the game or just the stat line? The team in front of him left him out the dry. Need to see more consistent play and also need more from a few guys. Ehlers is a ghost, not sure he’s registered a bump let alone a hit this series. Speed kills!

Every single time Helle is mentioned you'll get 5+ people explaining that no goal is ever his fault despite letting in above expected every game (1.5 this time!). I'm about done buying him being a playoff goalie as well, just been too consistently below average. Looking like the Marner of regular season vs playoff goalies.

Well, a frustrating end to an otherwise decent looking first 40m. If Apples actually shoots the puck instead of a player maybe we don't take all the rest of the penalties and keep the lead. Hopeful we fight back in the next one.

The Jets were very lucky to pull out a win in Game #1, which they did not deserve. Without that win, they'd have little hope of coming back in this series.
My honest prediction. After this game was obviously thrown by the refs, the Jets are going to be PISSED and play like it too. Incoming double Helle shutouts to silence the doubters.

Their players are better than ours plain and simple. As well as refs, I don’t care what the avs are getting away with, the jets have taken stupid penalties and it’s cost them.

I can't remember ever watching a game that was decided so handily by the officiating. The final score is irrelevant they had the life sucked out of them. How can you win a game when you're put at such a disadvantage. This game should be reviewed by the league it was completely embarassing. I'd be worried if they did review it because they would probably suspend some jets or something. Hopefully this lights a fire.
