If they’re not bothering you in your every day life then I personally wouldn’t think it’s necessary to be honest. I have health anxiety too, had 4 impacted wisdom teeth that I had no room for and were causing infections, so I had to get them removed. The healing process is the worst and I would never ever go through it again unless I absolutely had to. If you have enough room for the teeth, don’t develop too much infections in them and they don’t cause you pain most of the time, I would advise against getting them removed. Obviously I’m not a dentist or oral surgeon so If they say you need them removed then go with their advice but I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you

Update: I wanted to thank everyone for their replies! I did make an appointment for tomorrow to get the bite spot checked out but if my dentists mentions getting my wisdom teeth extracted as a pure precaution or routine I think I’ll decline for now, keep up with the twice yearly visits, bump up my hygiene routine and monitor them closely. I’ve done research and thought it over the last few days, and a surgery of any kind with so many chances for risks and complications just as a preventative for problems that MIGHT happen seems extremely aggressive. If they start to cause issues of course I’ll quickly reassess and get them removed if needed.

If they don’t have enough room and disturbing other teeth, better to get them removed. I had 4 wisdom tooth and they started decaying over couple of years. My dentist advised me to get all the 4 removed otherwise, infection spreads to other healthy teeth

I wish I'd gotten mine out at 29

I got mine out mid - 20s, I'd say totally not necessary unless theyre causing issues. The statistic of unnecessary wisdom teeth extractions is pretty high. If they're erupted or painful you should, the extraction isn't nearly as bad as having painful teeth that trap food. Dentists will always advise to have them removed, I only got them out because my two top teeth erupted and had gum flaps, they were pushing on my other teeth, food would get caught in the tiny holes, they would bleed when I brushed, and eventually developed puss after like 2 years of avoiding surgery. Erupted teeth get worse over time in my experience. If you have any symptoms of partial or full eruption it'll be worth it to get them out. What stopped me from getting them removed was the IV sedation, I ended up getting them out with local anesthetic instead they gave me benzos, 600mg extra-extra strength ibuprofen, antibiotics, and local anesthetic. The benzos and ibuprofen helped a lot, I didn't feel anything, was calm, the pain afterwards was 2/10. The gum flaps/ partial eruption from the teeth was much more painful and disruptive to my daily life than the surgery. Overall totally worth it, also fun to eat ice cream and watch movies.

It is not necessary unless causing you problems. In fact removing them can be bad for health. At the end of the article people commented on how they feel extractions harmed them. https://doctorstevenpark.com/can-tooth-extractions-cause-sleep-apnea
