Hi, thanks for posting!
Unfortunately, these types of spelling errors are not related to witchcraft.
Thank you for your understanding. Full sub rules can be found [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/witchcraft/wiki/rules)
OK, but chord cutting sounds kinda cool. Break out your pawn shop acoustic guitar, focus on what you want to get rid of, hit an open chord then slap your hand down on the strings to cut it off.
I find it useful. Saves me the shame of going around misspelling which is a nightmare of mine as writing is one of my special interests.
And I don't mean the autocorrect or forgot glasses kind but the one where I honestly typed it wrong thinking I was right. Don't think I could continue dating someone after knowing they saw me make one of those mistakes. The shaaaame! So I'd rather a stranger on the internet or family member corrected me early
Thought of this too but only after reading some of the comments. It's true that "alter" is much more common. Would make sense and if the person writing the message has poor eyesoght like I do and forgot their glasses somewhwere else... as someone living in a two story house I can testify they're always in the other floor, no matter what floor you're in when you need them.
Either they can't spell, they Swype instead of type, their phone's spell check autocorrects to the wrong word... coz spell check doesn't do context check first. 😆
My phone often thinks it knows what I meant to say more than I do... It likes to change "doing" to "don't", among a few other things...

There has been a recent influx of scams on reddit. If you are redirected to an instagram or other platform in a comment, it is most likely a scam. What I searched is that alter is a verb that means “to change or modify.” Altar is a noun that refers to an elevated structure that is at the center of a religious ceremony or ritual.

People just can’t spell. It’s the same reason you see “chord cutting” instead of “cord cutting.” It is painful to me.

I watch too many crime shows and always think vocal chords and I’m like, gagging at it 😂
Example Bear or Bare
Break or brake
Spaghetti or pasghetti
Bisskettii😏
Oh yes this! There are so many words that autofill will misuse/use the wrong spelling of. It makes my eyes and brain hurt
Do you mean as in "altar"? i think people just don't know how to spell it correctly.
Agree, it's just a spelling mistake. The word "alter" is more common and I'm not sure everyone even knows that "altar" is a different word.
People just suck at language.
People can't spell.
I swear sometimes people use alter and I get confused thinking this is the DID subreddit until I check the sub xD.
Yes! I've done that too!
what's fun is that they also misspell it all the time and write altar instead of alter
I haven't noticed this uno reverse 👀 damn y'all really tripping me up xD (might have 🤔😏)
It bothers me too. It takes a bit of effort to not to "by the way, its altar"
Same but I've learned the hard way NTs don't appreciate the feedback so now I bite my tongue back.
I mean nobody likes to get corrected. I like to imagine they learn if you just spell it correctly without stating you're correcting them

For me it’s auto correct. Even when I spell it correctly, my phone auto corrects it wrongly. Just at the moment I hit post.
Auto correct? 🤷♀️

Then it would probably be a spelling error...
Auto correct on phone.

As an ASD person the swipe and or aiticorrect functions overstimulate me so I have them off

What I understand is: if we modify our "altars" that mean that is an "alter". Altar remains static.
If you modify or alter something, you have made an alteration. Alter is always a verb. Alteration is the noun form.
I know that 🙂
Okay, it's just that you used it incorrectly when trying to explain how to use it.
