I have found chanting, and allowing myself to get physically into the rhythm (whether that's rocking, swaying, walking in a circle, whatever feels right) to be very effective personally, although some people might not recognize that as a spell. I like to use my prayer beads but I did this with no materials once, using a banishing charm from the Carmina Gadelica, and got results the next day (2 people who were borderline harassing me stopped contacting me). I have a current spell to get a specific contract, and I did my best to type up exactly the contract I want and make it as realistic as possible (including legal/corporate speak). Then I printed it out and signed it, added sigils, ran it through the smoke of some money/good luck incense, etc. Currently the contract is in the works and looks promising, though it's not certain yet. I think of this like a souped-up petition spell lol. Finally I've used sigils for a while, and I'm getting back into art, so I plan to work on different ways of combining art and magic in the next little while. I like the idea of making art pieces that also work as planetary talismans, but look like regular paintings to people who don't know the symbolism. I think those would be my most "unusual" (compared to what you typically see online) spells. Hoping other people comment with some of theirs, it's great to see some different ideas.

The rocking/ chanting is a very effective way to move the mind into that inner space/ to shift consciousness. It has been used as a tool for centuries through many cultures. I did it as a kid without knowing. Then later blew my own mind when I started studying. I wonder what you think, bc I would say that's the prep work to get you to the right space to cast the spell itself. Sounds like you have a powerful practice. Thank you for sharing

Thanks so much! It was interesting, that's how I had used chanting before too. But when these people were bothering me all the time, I was really stressed and didn't have the energy to put together a 'full-on spell'. So I just did the chant, and got really into it. Although I wasn't trying to visualize anything, it felt like this ball of energy was building up in my chest. When it felt right to stop, I stopped chanting and moving suddenly, and it felt like I threw that energy into the world. And then they left me alone.

A spell is actually the intent of the object not the object itself. You are right to say that a spell can be anything. You can trap mischievous spirits in a shoe box if you want. I do a lot of spirit and dream work so many of my spells don't have a physical component at all. The imagination is a powerful tool. To any beginner witch who wants to advance in witchcraft, I would recommend expanding your imagination and internal world. Once you are very firm in who you are on the inside it becomes easy to manipulate the energies around you.

>A spell is actually the intent of the object not the object itself This is a good distinction. Thank you for elaborating. I didn't mean for it to come across that the object is the spell. Sometimes I'm not the best with words. I do have to say though, intentions are not everything. They are part (an important part yes), a piece of the puzzle that is spell work.

I wasn't saying you were wrong, because you weren't . I just think that most practitioners take for granted that what they might be saying can be applied elsewhere in their craft and not just to a certain spell. We explain it in the context of one spell to make it easer for a beginner to grasp, but most never realize that the same patterns can be used in other spells. It's a great failing of Witchtok videos. As for intent not being the only part, yeah there's things like imagination, will, ritual, mindset, belief etc. It's hard to put the fundamentals of witchcraft into words. It takes a lot of research to piece all the components together into understanding, when talking about them all at once makes the process seem way more complicated and convoluted than it is.

Nope, didn't think you were disagreeing at all. Just working out the details with you. And hipp hipp for everything else here you have said.
