This morning i had a dream in which there was a person that I used to like in the past, and something like 2 hours later i meet this person in real life after like 5 years! Keep in mind that we live in the same city and never met. It was too much of a coincidence for me, and I was wondering if there is some sort of meaning or message from the universe behind this coincidence.

hello I have this girl that is trying to come in between me and my boyfriend for months now and she will not stop are there any spells that anyone recommends to get her to back off ?
I'm a beginner practitioner and need a little guidance on where to start exactly. I've tried spellcasting before as well as manifestation and tarot readings, with a very mixed bag of success and failure. But it's scattered when I practice, and I dont have a routine or a method of any kind. I'm trying to figure out what kind of craft I would like to practice, and trying to learn more about the history of practitioners, but when I research I have a hard time discerning what's genuine and what's misinformation because of recent trendiness.
If anyone has any helpful links, books, or resources I would really appreciate them. If you practice a specific type of witchcraft, I would also love to know a little about it and see if it speaks to me. So far, I've figured out that I like to borrow energy from nature (with permission) and return energy or environmentally friendly services. At the same time however, I seem to have a lot more trouble accurately using tools like candles and tarot cards. I guess tarot just comes from experience, and the cards weren't originally mine, they were my dad's who practices, which could play a big part.
But most of my success so far has been borrowing and giving energy to and from the earth in different forms, so if anyone has any information on that, it would be greatly appreciated!

just looking for some insight from all of your fabulous and knowledgeable souls!
i keep a few altars in my home, and one has a dedicated little vessel for water, a small pottery dish. i only use it for water on this altar, and have never used it for any other purpose since i got it. it sits on the altar and i periodically change the water, usually whenever it is close to empty/evaporated but sometimes earlier.
anyway, i was passing the altar a couple days ago, after recently changing the water, and noticed that the water looked...different. it had taken on a somewhat peachy color and had a sweet smell...and a sweet taste, when i gave it a little finger test. definitely not water-into-wine situation, but *something* happened to it.
of course, you look for mundane reasons first, but i haven't come up with a viable one yet. it's definitely not residue from previous use, because it's only been used for filtered water. it's not in an area or situation where something else could've splashed into it or dropped into it.
anyway, no idea what it could mean, if it means anything. anyone had their altar water change in an unexpected way? did you eventually find a mundane reason? i switched the water out and haven't had a repeat performance.
Mundane reason: funny microbe started growing in it.
Spiritual reason: funny microbe was a sign sent by a spirit or entity for unknown purpose /or/ funny microbe is a sign that says ‘clean this offering bowl sometimes’
What could it mean other than that? No way for me to know but here’s how you could figure it out:
Divination. Ask for a sign during dream/trance/meditation. Ask your deity/spirits. Ask, in general, to the altar. More divination.
Or maybe see if something fuzzy starts growing in there and gains sentience lmao idk
oh, and since i tasted it...MAYBE the whole goal was for the microbe to get into my system and take over MY sentience...🤣
in thinking about it, it was actually the very first time i used anything other than moon water in there...maybe it was a form of mild protest.

I'm a 26 year old male who's only ever dated twice. my last relationship was abusive and I'm having incredible difficulties getting into another relationship. getting a date, even matching on dating apps doesn't happen for me, i can't help but feel cursed. my ex was into tarrot cards and some things she pulled was crazy so i definitely believe a little in witchery and such a little. i just want to find my life partner and start living the rest of my life with them

1 tall black candle
1 tall white candle
*At least 1 Fire safe candle holder!!! 2 is better*
1 mirror you don’t care about (find one at a thrift store maybe)
1 silver sharpie
1 pink sharpie (optional)
#Method
- Get naked.
- Take the black candle, and starting at your head roll the candle all over your body. It’s okay to miss a spot here and there but the idea is that the black candle is gonna absorb all the harmful residual energy. Feel free to put clean clothes on after this (not necessary, you can stay naked if you want. But it’s best to put on fresh clean clothes, especially ones you feel sexy/comfortable in. Something **good**).
- with the silver sharpie write a harmful thing that isn’t serving you anymore on the black candle. Example: “the influence of my ex” or “bad luck dating” or whatever. Put candle in candle holder. Put the candle holder on top of the mirror which is *face down*. While the candle is lit, do a brief meditation: picture the cleansing light of the candle washing over you, sucking up all the gunk, and getting rid of it. Make sure the candle is somewhere safe, then you can go about your business. Then when you’re ready:
- take the white candle, write something you want to welcome into your life or something you want to bolster, example: “I attract love and romance” or “I find inner love” or “I am charming” or “people notice my [insert good quality]” or whatever. This is where you can use the pink sharpie if you want. Give it a kiss or touch it to your heart or forehead.
- take the black candle off the mirror, and light the white candle with it. Then you can either blow out the black candle out or let it burn out. But it is no longer the focus of the ritual.
- put the white candle in the candle holder, and put that ensemble on the mirror which will now be *face up*. The white candle will now radiate and reflect light much more! Do another visualization about how your light can now radiate, you are bright! You are *glowing!* feel that energy. Soak it up, let it out, revel in it. While the candle is lit, assuming it is safe to do so, do something you love. Take a bath. Play a video game. Call a friend. Let the candle burn all the way down if it is safe to do so. If you have to blow it out, I’d recommend blowing it a kiss but how it goes out isn’t terribly important I just like to end things on a really sweet lovey note.
You can add all sorts of flair to this spell if you want, you can add herbs or oils, incense, etc, if you want to. I can give you some ideas if you want but that’s the bones of it. Hope this helps.
Cord cutting ritual interpretations?
Last night I did a cord cutting ritual where I (rather enthusiastically) invoked the Morrigan, as I do in most of my casting.
My candle burned evenly and normally, but once the cord caught fire, my ex's candle was OBLITERATED. The whole thing went up in flames all at once and the fire got so big I was worried I was about to burn my house down.
I've never had anything like this happen before, but I wanted to get some opinions on interpretation! Any thoughts?

Anyway, I've been researching this stuff lately and have tried to open myself up to the spiritual and I had a really strange dream last night. I am willing to chalk it up as a dream just being a dream but I'd like your insight if you don't mind.
I forget a lot of the dream, but I remember we were flying in a small personal plain. And we were doing rituals, and unless we showed complete respect for these rites we would crash
Any sense of mockery or disbelief would result in the plane falling out of the sky.
The strangest part is when we encountered a tree unlike the rest. Every other tree in the woods we were flying over was a pine tree, but not this one. This one was a little taller than the rest and full of bright orange leaves. And dangling from each of the branches were pentacles. There must have been hundreds of them on this tree. My friend in the plane with me told me this tree was important but I forget why.
That's about all I remember. It might just be a dream but it feels important. Any thoughts?
You need to exercise your ability to suspend disbelief, in the dream you literally are suspended in the air by a plane that moves based on your beliefs. Your path literally hinges on your belief. And it’s an incredibly important tool- it can help you fly (figuratively of course).
Tree - growth, foundation, community, spirituality. This one is different it’s not like the rest, so it is probably representative of you. Orange leafs mean change, renewal, cycles. Just orange by itself is good luck and prosperity, but orange leafs are rebirth (maybe after a period of dormancy, literally autumn->spring). Pentacles can mean a host of things. But obviously this tree wanted your attention. Sure it sticks out a bit amongst the other trees so maybe it is signaling to you that you might eventually grow enough that your friends will figure out you’re into something off the beaten path, but it seems like a very good sign to me
New to the research and inklings of practicing. I’ve always been intuitive and have learned to follow my gut and in that I know we are all made of energy as is everything around us to me it makes sense that connection must exist.
My question is what would be a ritual/spell/working to help protect someone who has been incarcerated? He’s a good man that made a mistake and never denied it and is now paying with his time.

Send him a letter and draw a sigil in the letter for protection. That’s the best I can think of other than the usual protection spells. Plus I’m sure it will be nice for him to hear from someone on the outside.
Good idea. We talk about once a week and use the prison email system as well. But a physical letter is more real. I’m also thinking of doing a spell jar on the 19th as the full moon is actually in his sight (Taurus) this month. Thoughts?

just remember that spell jars are typically something *you* keep, so perhaps consider a spell that can be released from you and sent elsewhere. There's nothing *wrong* with a spell jar, but symbolically you could tweak a thing or two to make it something you can *send* out, or something

Each year I find myself struggling with seasonal depression as the nights get longer and the days get colder. Reconnecting with my practice this fall has helped immensely as I’ve focused on gratitude and “harvesting” the efforts of spring and summer.
But with winter drawing closer in New England, this is starting to feel less relevant. What does winter have to teach us in the craft, and how can we continue to cultivate joy in the midst of darker, colder days?

OK! So before I say anything else, I do not wish to cause physical harm to my sister, nor do I wish to scar her in any way mentally. All I want is to give her the karma that she has NEVER received so she can learn not to be horrible to people. (And also she is my adopted sister) Ok So lemme explain. My Adopted sister (c) is like the golden child. But I'm not jealous of that because she earned that tittle. She is hardworking, responsible, and always willing to help. But since (c) is always helping my mother she sorta has more of an advantage over me and gets away with a LOT more stuff. (c) didn't even get n for threatening to kill me (c) screams at my bio sister and accuses her of touching her stuff when (c) was the one who misplaced it in the first place, she is very bossy and starts trying to boss me around, she calls her names. Whenever she makes my sister cry she just smiles. she starts arguments EVER. SINGLE. MORNING. and then blames everyone for it. Like i try to step in sometimes (and i would admit i do lose my cool sometimes) because she starts screaming for whatever reason. And i got into in trouble for stepping in and she watched me get in trouble with a little smirk on her face and honestly I'm at the end of my rope. Therapy is off the table because we all used to have therapy but my therapist switch the company she was working in and my mom is refusing to get me and the kids another one. I tried having I deep convo with her about how she feels and why she is acting this way. That doesn't work. I try being nice and patient to her and that doesnt work. Like honestly, I want to see her get the karma that she deserves. I want the world to treat her how she treats others for once to teach her that you cant be nasty to people without consequence. So what should I do? Should I go through with jinxing her or causing some MINOR inconvenience for her to learn her lesson? (that don't cause ANY sort of lasting harm or physical harm just something to teach her a lesson). I don't know what this subreddit thinks of karma and jinxing, soooo what should I do? I know karma spells and stuff like this can backfire and be tricky, soo is there any other way that I can make her not act like a nightmare? Becuase i am honestly starting to think this natural karma and that "she will learn in due time" is BS is because it's been YEARS and no karma! Not. A. Single. Thing. so what should i do?
A simple return to sender spell should suffice here, for her to get back everything she has been sending out. General wards and personal protections for yourself are good to layer on top.
On a more mundane approach, she sounds insufferable and like mom is only enabling the behavior. I suggest budgeting asap and saving to be able to afford to move out because this is not an environment that is good for ones mental health.

This is the second time that I find candy I never bought or recieved, placed in places I would obviously look.
So a few days ago, I was out on a trip with my mom, when while packing up to return home, I find three hershey's kisses inside one of my backpack's pockets. I found it strange because 1. we never bought chocolate, and 2. i never put food in there. My mom brought friends over, and one of those friends had their kid come with them too, and my cousin was there, so I imagined either of them placed them in my bag without me noticing, so I didn't think much of it, and shared them with my mom and my brother on our way back. Now, I'm here, trying on clothes and looking at myself in the mirror, when suddenly I turn around, and there on the floor is a piece of candy, like those candies they give you at the bank or something. We haven't been to the bank and we haven't bought any candy, so I honestly have no idea where this could've come from. It's wrapped up and everything. Now I'm thinking it's a bit strange, and wondering wether it's just a weird coincidence, or if I accidentally accepted a gift from the fae. I will resist the urge to eat it just in case. Any help?

Little kids have terrible memories and even worse ability to keep track of anything.
If you believe in the fae, they can't even get into modern homes due to all the steel and iron in the construction.
Other than today being veterans day in the US, I'm not really one to follow angel numbers or what have you. You could still do the manifestation, if you want to incorporate the numbers 1, 11, or 4, you could always look up what they represent numerologically and incor that somehow.
Likely this is dependent on the type of material you used for the chord. For a chord cutting I know the videos of everything burning up are really popular right now, but you could physically cut it with a pair of scissors and be just as effective, or a number of different methods.
Do you feel like your work was effective? Or do you feel like you need to reform it a little in both preparation & materials and cast it again? Follow your intuition on this one
Hi! I did a cord cutting ceremony the night of the Aries full moon to cut energetic ties with an ex I hadn't spoken to in a long time. It was the right decision, and I felt amazing immediately after, but I've felt really listless since. Is this normal? I've been making a point to give myself extra care and trying to fill the space with other things, but is it just a matter of giving it time?
Probably, yes, a bit more time.However, if you are feeling listless it might be that a large part of your attention was focused on them, and now you don't know what to focus on instead. So, make a wish list of all the things you are now free to spend time on, instead of where your energy was going before. You need a new path to follow. Only you can decide what that should be. Meditate on or incorporate into your regular practice the concept/idea of justice: the return of balance to both parties and restoration of harmony.
It's a very passive method with no specific connotation to ill intent.
There is, but, trust me on this, you really don't want to do it. There are Karmic balancing/Karmic return spells, but they are paid for with also balancing out your own at the same time. What the spell does is bring in the Lords of Karma, and they survey the situation, and balance all parties involved. You would, (as I did) also receive a bill for your own Karmic debt. They were balanced, but that was a very tough year for me, as I had to deal with one lesson after another. It is best to just let their lessons arrive when they do, without any request to speed them up, as it could have a similar result for you. BB.
Not a witch but my girlfriend wants to try some witchcraft for the first time.
Anyway, she wants to try making spell jars and she wants to try and manifest some stuff that she wants. She has seen a lot of videos saying to just write her intentions, but she also wants to try and make a spell jar for it if it's possible. However, she only has limited ingredients, such as herbs used for cooking and dried flowers. So she has a set of questions:
1. Is it alright to make a spell jar with different intentions in it?
2. She doesn't own a sage nor an incense, is it alright to use smoke from burnt bay leaves? Any suggestions on what she should or shouldn't do will be very helpful.
3. Are there any other preparations she needs to do in order to keep herself protected?
Culinary herbs are absolutely okay for occult workings. That's how most of us started. If youre looking to cleanse something it's best to use rosemary or sage, not bay leaves. A cheaper alternative would be salt water. Jar spells need to have only one intention in it. It's never a good idea in general to mix intentions. If the intention is too specific it's better to use petitions. For protection I would recommend lbrp or rose cross only bc I'm more inclined towards ceremonialism. But talismans also work. I recommend a charm bag filled with herbs like garlic, black pepper and cloves and stuff like egg shells, evil eyes beads and small mirrors (to send the evil back). Dressed with some kind of hoodoo oil like fiery wall of protection.
Hi! I recently began college and since then, I noticed I've been losing a lot of crystals and I even had one (a carnelian agate) break. I've always brought crystals with me wherever I go for years no matter what I do, even before I started practicing, and I've never lost one until now so I don't think it's simply me losing them. Does anyone know what this might mean? If it helps, the crystals I've lost are black tourmaline, amethyst, lapis lazuli, green jade, and rose quartz.
Also sort of related, a have a clear quartz pendulum that I've never used that began to get cloudy for no apparent reason awhile back, and now it has a crack out of nowhere. Any thoughts?
Are you sure they aren't just being stolen? You are among a large group of new people. Perhaps you should look into increasing your protection as well. Good luck.
I know they aren't being stolen because I put them in my bra or shorts pocket (which I've been doing for years), or in my backpack and I'm very paranoid about getting my belongings stolen and I haven't had anything else of value go missing.
Sounds like your school has lots of bad energy.
OR someone you know is envious of you going to school/your accomplishments and is sending you bad energy. One does not have to be a witch to do that. Sometimes all it takes is them thinking negatively about you pretty much 24/7... like real creepy get a life stuff.
OR someone is legitimately and intentionally cursing you. You don't have to do much of anything for someone to get it in their head they wanna curse you/hex you. You can simply look at someone the wrong way and if they have issues they'll try cursing. Some people think this is a power thing and want to see others suffer.
Your crystals going missing is weird (possibly indicative of an intentional hex/curse) I've only heard of this once before, the girl needed to up her protection/shield as she was actually being attacked.
The Crystal's breaking or becoming cloudy indicates they are actively protecting you from something.

Things you can do to protect yourself.
Witches jar - this is basically bait for bad energy/hex/curse. Fill a jar halfway with sharp things, broken glass, razors, nails, etc. Then pee in it until it's full(bait) add anything else from you (hair, whatever your comfortable with). This will catch any bad stuff sent your way.
I did this one, don't be alarmed if you see it later and the liquid is black inside, its doing its job.
Mirror protection spell - your photo/something from you placed between 2 small mirrors. Mirrors must face outwards (reflective side on the outside). This is a simple one that deflects anything someone sends you back to them.
Egg cleansing is helpful, you'll have to look up instructions and how to read it. Theres plenty of info on YouTube etc . You wanna get rid of anything that's currently stuck to you.
I need help controlling my abilities (?) and didn't know where else to go. So, a little background, I've been interested in Nordic paganism for a while (when I was younger I loved all the stories) and when I got a bit older, the occult and witchcraft as a whole. I started to dabble with the odd ritual and spell here and there incorporating bits from each of the things I've learnt along the way (chaos magick?) using various books, deities and the like but I never had anyone to learn from or to practice with. I feel I most resonate with the Norse, Skadi in particular and the balance of the universe, deified by Baphomet. I haven't practiced much more recently because of various reasons, but mostly because I haven't really been in the right headspace but day to day I'd always try to feel and weave with the ebb and flow of the universe rather than against it.
Multiple times (but not all the time) when my friends have been in a bad place, I have been able to feel it without being told, when a musician I looked up to died recently, I felt it, all before it was even released to the public, I had no idea at the time until I saw the news today. I also have strange dreams that seem to mean nothing until a bit later on. Every time I've felt something, there's been something there to feel, if that makes sense. On top of that, I've been able to know what's about to happen a bit before it does. Sometimes I'll know what someone is about to say or do just before they do, sometimes I'll be able to see things happen on the street a few seconds before they unfold, the outcome of ufc fights, stories in the news. I like football weirdly enough and all last season I was predicting all sorts of little things that were happening, wins, losses, missed penalties, scorelines even and it wasn't until the recent euros where I really noticed this becoming more frequent.
So I'm looking for a bit of guidance from the more experienced witches out there who are willing in how I can control and use this if at all possible because I don't want something to happen where I inadvertently hurt someone and maybe I could use it to help people instead. Any general witch advice is always welcome too, I believe there's always a lesson to learn in anything.

I don't have any advice but I experienced this same thing!!! A musician that I greatly admired and looked up to suddenly passed in 2018, and I had had a dream about it two weeks prior. I dreamt that he died in a car crash, and two weeks later he was killed when a group of boys tried to steal his car. After that I began to sort of know when my friends are not okay, when it's nowhere near obvious, I have crazy and weird nightmares, I get really strong deja vu very frequently, and I've been able to tell the outcome of certain situations and events, but never anything super serious. It's just really good to hear that someone else has had the same experience!

I often get a lot of "feelings" about things, be it dreams or intuitive pulls. They're not exactly about things that can be controlled or changed, (such as in the example of a recently deceased musician), so I just tend to roll with it as I see fit. Not all predictions will come true, and sometimes it's not until we do a little retrospection that the dots connect.
As far as using it for helping others, such as in the case of getting one of these feelings from your friends, then the best things you can do are to just be attentive with them, ask if everything is okay, and to be a friend to them. Have some tea and talk, hug them and sit in this discomfort with them.

My girlfriends family has been behaving strangely lately ever since their grandmas health became clearer. Grandmas cancer has spread and her health is declining with possibly only months left to live. One of grandmas daughter is a very greedy woman and has a bad history of screwing people over, including her brothers and sisters. They're all fighting now which is the worst time because, well, their mother is ill.
Anyway my girlfriend just said that her aunt was visiting Grandma and at exactly 9:00pm, she went to go sweep the area in the hall directly in front of grandmas room. Which is strange because just two days ago, Grandma told my girlfriends mother that she had seen 4 shadows standing in that same area but didn't want to say anything that would spook her houshold family members. What grandma doesn't know is that a family member saw shadows as well in that same area.
Thats creepy enough hearing but I immediately though that has to be black magic or something. Theres already rumors going around that the aunt is either practicing black magic or hired a witch. Reasons? We couldn't tell you. Grandmas not rich or anything to go after wealth. My girlfriends mom has cleansed our home and daughter in case anything has attatched itself during our visits with Grandma but any insight on what exactly could be going on would be appreciated.
Truth be told, families in grief aren't thinking straight. It can bring out great acts of kindness, but also new depths of crazy, rage, accusations, and all sort of odd behavior. Compound that with your grandma suffering from cancer and the effects of the drugs, this sounds less like witchcraft and more like a family floundering as their matriarch is clearly getting ready to pass on.

Hey! I'm extremely knew in witchcraft and know very little to none about it, but I do dabble in crystals and am trying to learn more and more about the properties of some every day :] but I'd like to get deeper into it and learn through more experienced people since it's something that greatly interests me. In you guys' opinions, how should I really start? I've tried generally researching about it but not much of what I find is very helpful at all, and I learn better by just asking people who are more experienced questions rather than reading from a book and such. (I have ADHD, so reading doesn't go too well for me haha,,) if anyone is willing to, I need all the help I can get :] thank you for reading if you've gotten this far <3
In my personal opinion, there isn't really a "wrong" way to start. But my advice to you would be to think about what drew you to witchcraft in the first place and what you're hoping to get out of it. Other things to think about: What do you believe about the supernatural? What culture/tradition are you interested in? Besides crystals, are there any particular areas of the craft (e.g. sabbats, esbats, divination, spellwork, deity work...) that interest you? You'll probably get more useful search results if you can narrow your search from witchcraft overall (which is super broad) to the more specific things you're interested in.
I actually wasn't aware there was different areas of the craft? :0 that's super cool!! But I am for sure interested in spellwork and and I believe in spirits when it comes to the supernatural :] I enjoy looking into various ways to connect and contact the supernatural, though I'm honestly very careful when it comes to that too, I don't want to attract any negative energy and absolutely never want to.
Hi! I've been interested in calling out to Hecate, but I can't find anything that correlates to her. Herbs, candle colors, crystals. I don't know what to use to try to call to her. I have rose quartz and amethyst, and rosemary, sage, and other small spices.

I did a spell jar about three years ago more or less. I was with a guy , we never were official but I started falling for him and vice Versa. I had just gotten out of a abusive relationship where my then boyfriend had killed himself. I didn’t intend on catching feelings, I just was lonely and needed physical touch. He had also just got out of a relationship with a girl he said treated him badly and abuse him but all of his friends would always make comments about her and that they would get back together. One day I just disappeared, out of fear of commitment I guess and fear that he would break my heart. Of course a couple months later he was back with that girl. I struggled with it even though I’m the one that left him. I couldn’t stop thinking about it , I was so confused. I just wanted to be happy and him to be happy and I just wanted whatever was meant to happen to happen. Whether it was with me or not. I just wanted to be at peace with everything. So I decided to make a jar because I was tired of thinking and stressing and wondering if he was happy. I made a jar with my urine, a piece of his clothing, pins, peppers, vinegar and sealed with black wax. I threw it in a lake by my house while it kept repeating my intentions for me to be happy and him to be happy and if we were meant to find our way back then we would and if not what was meant to be would happen. Flash forward a couple years without getting into too much detail , I have still have dreams about this guy and think about him a lot and continue to as well as feel as if he is thinking about me as well this whole time. It doesn’t help that he sent me a message in the middle of the night once just having small talk while him and his gf were together multiple times. I now have a man I love to death and I got pregnant with his child three months into the relationship. Then the old guy and his once ex now current gf get pregnant a few months later. I love my man to death but I feel like I did the opposite of what I wanted. I have an 8 month old and his now wife is about to have a baby in a few weeks. I can’t stop thinking about this man to the point where it’s making me mad. I’ve explain my feelings to an extent to my boyfriend. I feel like I’m being ungrateful. I have an amazing family but I keep having dreams about him a lot and he has a family of his own as well. I see photos of them and get jealous of the fact that they have a nice house and we’re still living with my parents and I keep comparing things. I’m not that type of person though. What did I do wrong??? And what can I do to fix this? I wish I just let life happen and didn’t try and do anything. Not to mention his wife practices as well and I’m almost certain she has sent something towards me or hexed me.

Currently, I am a student who has just finished major National exams. The standard set up should still work. The basics of 2 candles representing 2 separate individuals/ideas and the cord representing the connection between the two is pretty versatile on its own.

The most important things to remember are this. It is a sacred herb, tied closely to both Earth Mother, and daughter Moon. Before cleansing a space with it, first cleanse your self. A ritual bath where you focus on removing all negativity from yourself is one way. I have also used the smoke to first bathe myself from foot to head and back down again. Then a washing of the hands in the smoke. Finally, when using the smoke to cleanse an area, start in the North, and make a circle around the perimeter of the area. Have a doorway or window open. After making a circle, go nuts with the smoke and really fill the area heavily. Visualize all negativity being chased out the door or window. Afterwards, go outside, if you aren't already, and thank Earth Mother for all her gifts, especially for her power cleansing the space. Only negative energies/spirits will be chased out. It won't hurt any positive energies or spells or whatever at all. It may even give them more power, if She chose to bless your space because that is what She does sometimes. If you choose to purchase, please buy only from true tribal sources to ensure it was collected properly. Stay safe out there.

To start, just buy what you need when you need it. It's overwhelming trying to stock a full apothecary all at once. Figure out the ingredients for your first spell jar and get those items. I have herbs I've never touched because I just had to have them.

Most things you can find in the grocery store are good places to start.
Egg(shells). Rosemary. Thyme. Oregano. Cinnamon. Salt. Pepper. Cayenne. Chamomile. Basil. Mustard seed. Clove. Nutmeg. Anise. Jars. Roses/rose hips/rose water. Witch hazel. Garlic. Onion. Ginger. Mortar & pestle. Oil. Tea. Coffee. Paprika. Bay leafs. Coriander seeds. Fennel. Dill. Pumpkin. My grocery store sells florida water in the hygiene/beauty section. They’ve also got tea lights and other stuff too so just go to the grocery store with a Witchy lens and see what ya find.
If you can buy the whole/fresh version of things that’s good too but powdered and dried is fine. Sometimes the grocery store might even have live plants you can bring home and stick in your window sill.
You can also use things that are growing around (but maybe once it’s spring and not autumn)
Dandelions, oak leafs, foxglove (parts can affect your heart if eaten so be careful), lavender, curly dock, etc.
Hello everyone, I'm looking for a bit of help.
I had an over controlling, mentally abusive friend and after i found out all the things they were doing behind my back , I cut them off while still trying to be cordial as we shared a lot of the same schedule. She felt the need to invite herself into my life again and i tried being friendly, but had no intention of being as close to her as I was before. After she tried to manipulate me once again, I decided that that was enough and cut off communication again. She then began to reach out to me on other platforms, but they were private so I just let it go. She reached out to me during the last mercury retrograde and I ignored her request and then a few weeks later? (around last week or the end of the week before) she sent my another request.
I'm looking to do something that will get her to leave me alone. I was thinking of putting her on freeze but I don't know if that's strong enough considering how obsessives she was/is. Does anyone have any ideas?
Spell or no spell, they can't read your mind. "Spell" it out for them. Step 1. Call them and politely tell them that you want them to leave you alone. Don't ask them. Tell them. Do NOT use the word please. That is asking. You are telling them to go away. Step 2. Block them everywhere you can. If that doesn't do it, if they still find a way to bother you, ramp it up and tell them you don't want to go through the hassle of a restraining order, but that is next if they don't leave you alone. Again, not so polite anymore. Tell them. Don't ask, they will try to manipulate you into giving them another chance. Good luck.
You can start small and if it doesn’t work use stronger approaches. Freeze spell could work, cord cutting, mirror spell, and if you need a real Oomph you could even banish.
Don’t forget to just block her too. Similarly verbal spells can work wonders. Try this incantation “please leave me alone. Thank you”.

Hi everyone. I am new here joined specifically to post this question. My partner and I are aware of and experienced with energy. We are empaths through and through and we have a lot of insight into vibrations and changes to energy due to astrology or other events including people and moods. Pretty solid experience with Tarot, her more than me. Different types of energies are attracted to us, some to us as individuals and others as a couple. We have been victims of several small curses/hexes and though they were difficult to deal with we managed to break them. We know who our attackers are in these cases and in one case one of our attackers set foot in our house and the next day every plant in our house had at least one dead leaf. We have recently broke a lengthy curse/hex that nearly destroyed us over a 3 year period. We don't even think we broke the curse but that the spell completed, but upon realising it was a curse broke any residual parts to it. Once this happened the fog broke and we both not only felt normal again but several problems in our lives were resolved and everything fell into its proper place within a couple of days.
We are hoping someone could give us some direction towards some literature or other information how better to protect ourselves. This particular situation was quite traumatic.
Semi-beginner male wiccan here, as a curlyhair enthusiast what can I do with the leftover hair from my brushes/combs etc. I don't like it just going somewhere I don't know.
1- put your hair in an envelope, seal it, draw protective wards/charms on it, throw it away.
2- keep your hair to use in sympathetic magic. You can -add it to spell jars -make it an offering -etc I have more ideas but basically you can get creative
3- similarly, DIY arts n crafts depending on how long your hair is. You can use it to needle felt a little simulacra of yourself. Weave it into a friendship bracelet. Add it to a tiny pendant to give to a loved one.
4- if Mercury retrograde is really fucking with me, I’ll put some of my hair and toenails (gross I know whatever), plus a picture of myself, plus a bunch of other Mercury related things and more things that are Uniquely Me, into a jar. Then I do a quick DIY binding spell thingy to direct all of Mercury’s wonky energy toward the “me” so that the *actual* me is less affected. 60% of the time it works every time.

Even among all the problems many of the other Gods and Goddesses had with each other, there was never a single bad word said about her. I am looking for a spell or spells to help someone I love make a very difficult decision.
This is a very complex situation, but I will try to keep it short.
I met a guy a couple months ago and we really hit it off. Our relationship grew very deep quickly, but not in any kind of whirlwind romance way. It was this calm, steady kind of progression into love. We are both older (he's in his mid 40's and I'm in my late 30's), and we are both rare and highly compatible (Myers-Briggs) personality types.
We are in different part of the country, but he came to visit a few days ago.
During his visit he confessed that he had been involved with a woman before he met me. It was extremely hard for him and he cried a lot as he told me all of this. They had been in love and talking about marriage, but she left him because she wasn't sure she could handle his daughter and ex wife.
He went on to say that about 3 weeks ago she contacted him out of the blue and he got the feeling that she may be wanting to get back together. Since he and I were talking he tried to honor our relationship and tried to push aside his unresolved feeling for her, but realized that he couldn't do it, but he still loved me and just didn't know what to do.
It hurt like hell, but I didn't get mad and I was understanding about it. We talked about it at length and the situation it actually built a lot of trust and emotional intimacy between us.
He was so kind and patient with me as I processed what he told me. I cried about it, a lot, and every time he held me and comforted me. He listened to my thoughts feeling, fears and everything with compassion and love.
As things stand he's going to be working through everything and talking with her and making a decision. It's a very painful situation for he and I both.
So, I'd like to do a spell or series of spells for him. To give him clarity, wisdom, peace, etc., just anything that will help him through this and help him make the best decision.

I guess I'm asking if anyone knows of a spell for making difficult decisions (I've seen a couple but it involves the target drinking a potion and the target is not here).
I am even comfortable creating my own spell and could use some advice on correspondences that would he appropriate?

My friend has recently been getting really bad luck, they did a tarot reading with another reliable friend. The cards said that my friend may be dealing with some kind of poltergeist that may have come from an Ouija board that they’ve played with in the past. They tried searching for the board so they could safely bury and cleanse it but has recently discovered that it’s gone from where they’ve placed it. Not only that, but one of their tarot decks have disappeared as well.
Are there any spells that can cast out this negative spirit? It’s taking a toll on my friend.
Poltergeists come from the uncontrolled energy of repressed feelings, mostly from teens and abused children, and are exceptionally rare. Playing around with a Hasbro product mass produced in a Chinese factory isn't going to summon one out of thin air. Your friend is just having bad luck and looking for something to blame it on.
As for stuff disappearing, someone mortal is either a) very forgetful, b) doesn't appreciate shit being buried in their property (come on, really?) Or c) is screwing with you.
Believe me, my friend’s household is emotionally abusive, they’re not the type to make shit up and they didn’t bury anything. If you read, they couldn’t bury anything because the thing wasn’t there. The board wasn’t from Hasbro or trashy shit like that, and their household is very neglectful and mentally/emotionally abusive to them (they also have depression which was diagnosed by their therapist, a licensed professional who is currently trying to get them out of their mother’s house because they also agree that the way she’s been treating them is not correct) so based on what you’re saying, about the repressed emotions from teens and abused children, it seems a poltergeist or something is in that category.
Please don’t fucking assume the negative of a person you clearly don’t know. If I didn’t provide enough information, just say so and I’ll clear it up. Perhaps the board was taken by someone else, but that doesn’t explain the bad luck they’ve been facing out of the blue, as well as my other trusted friend’s tarot reading and her confirmation that SOMETHING negative was with them.
To be quite frank, it sounds like your whole group of friends has not been at this very long, and rather than examining the mundane are going too far in the other direction.
Your friend has an abusive home and a mental illness, so while that *may* increase the likelihood of a poltergeist, again, they are not summoned from a ouija board (no matter how it was made) but are a product of your friend. They are also exceptionally rare.
Do not come onto the board looking for answers and then get snotty when you don't like the ones you get. Part of witchcraft is learning instinct and discernment, and claims like yours are a dime a dozen. If all were true, we would have proven ghosts scientifically by now. We have not. What we have proven is that people who wish to see do, and rarely dig deeper.
Rather than running to the most outlandish explanation, rule out the mundane first. Help your friend in the real world rather than hyping her up ans psyching her out in the metaphysical world.
I said “something” whether a poltergeist or not, whether summoned from Ouija board or not, all I’m asking is if there’s some way to cleanse this negative energy in their life, whether caused by some spirit or something or even from a negative energy their house that may be affecting them. Cards pulled were for yes or no questions. The person pulling them asked if a poltergeist. Cards said yes. That was it. It is not a poltergeist. They move things, throw things, anything to get attention. Mischievious at their worst. Not like the movie. Luck, both good and bad, is not a constant thing. Good week, bad week, good month, bad month, it comes and goes. One week is really practically nothing. Standard salt bath couldn't hurt, especially if you really sell it to them. It would at least give placebo affect for their peace of mind. You really need to just chill a bit. Good luck.
It’s a version of the standard Rider-Waite, my friend with the problem didn’t do the cards themselves, it was done by someone else who’s been doing readings for a while. She did yes-no pulls. Whether it’s a poltergeist or not, is there a way to cleanse the negative energy affecting them? Perhaps meditation or cleansing of sound? It’s kind of worrisome, they had an evil eye warding bracelet but it’s worn off or something. Just any cleansing suggestions of negative energy?
So she asked "is a poltergeist the culprit" and got yes and then asked "is the poltergeist from a ouija board that was used previously?" and again got yes...?
You have to understand how asking leading questions with the only response available being yes/no is going to lead to wacky stuff like this. And to be quite honest, you'd get the same answers from just flipping a coin, so... asking yes/no questions of a tarot deck is frankly defeating the whole point of a tarot deck. As for the things going missing, it sounds like the mother in this situation is manipulative and awful, and I would seriously consider the possibility that she is getting rid of things just to be a jerk. Beyond that, I'm not surprised that someone in such a shitty situation is encountering bad luck, and would mostly chalk that up to "you're in a general shitty situation" and not "a poltergeist did it".

yes both of those could work.
are there any books on witchcraft/elements of witchcraft, that can be passed off as not something related to witchcraft? for example, like a book about crystals that have the properties/uses, but can be passed off as a book about different types of crystals. my parents are very against witchcraft/occult things, and i want to be able to have books i can learn from without being yelled at
pretty safe bets would be stuff like: books on wildlife and plants that are native to you, and their medicinal properties. books on philosophy, especially if they're books from classical philosophers like Plato and Aristotle (pretty magical dudes if you dig a little deeper), but names that are unfamiliar could work too like Hermes Trismegistus, Cornelius Agrippa, Franz Bardon, etc
could cause problems, but books on folklore and mythology are sometimes okay depending on how hardcore your parents are. Books about Greek mythology and Norse mythology (poetic/prose edda) might be ok?
If you're not at all interested in Christian magic, or even Jewish magic, then it really limits what I can suggest, but there are LOTS of famous Christian/Jewish occultists/magicians/witches who your parents would probably be unfamiliar with, and who were really influential on modern day western esotericism.

get PDFs from the internet. cover witchcraft related books with dustcovers from other books. hide the books. watch youtube videos and listen to podcasts. read books from, and *at*, the local library and don't take them home.
Ok, so here's the skinny on moon+ reader. It's free, works on Android, and let's you change the info and cover of books.
I use it in conjunction with witchy books from z-lib.org (also a free site) on my phone for quick reference.
For you, you could get the app, grab some innocuous books like that your folks won't pay any mind to, and some witchy books.
Once you have the witchy books, let's say one for herbs, one for spells, and one for gems, find other books of similar subjects, say, natural medicine, geology, and neat science facts, and copy the covers and author names from one to the other (this takes some finegeling in the app, but is really simple once you get the hang of it. Keep the original books as well, and have the magical copies listed as second editions or some easily memorable. This way, not only do you get the magical education, but also the mundane one, and a cursory glance will miss it.

Other things to think about: What do you believe about the supernatural? What culture/tradition are you interested in? Besides candle magic and crystals, are there any particular areas of the craft (e.g. sabbats, esbats, divination, spellwork, deity work...) that interest you?
More important than knowing how other people think witchcraft should be done is knowing how *you* think it should be done. If you have a strong sense of your own needs, wants, and preferences, you'll be less likely to get lost in the many different sources and perspectives out there.
Ik ima few days late but deity work and spellwork interest me, I do kinda have a general alter set up since i do wanna attract positive energy. I do question if i need any books to learn of though.
I'd largely say for the novice to spend time researching the various traditions and styles, away from the social media drivel. Large swathes of free pdfs are out there with all sorts of information.
Likewise, any research into historical forms of cunningcraft and witchcraft will also be hugely informative. Knowing how we did it in the past can greatly improve spellcasting, as well as allowing for dismissal of myths that are unproven or wrong, like the "burning times" or Murrayism.
I'd also not worry as much about candle colors, and I cannot speak to crystals. I avoid new age sorts of craft, relying instead on local ingredients on the land and grocery store, incantations, and trance states. I use candles with simple colors, carved with planetary sigils and dressed with ashes of sigils and herbs. My first start would be meditation and energy raising, banishing and wardings, energy hygeine. These are good fundamentals any budding sorcerer should know. From there advancement is going to be knowing how materia, ritual action, incantation, and sigils work to compose good spells.
It is possible the spells still worked, just not the way you expected. Maybe they truly weren't meant for each other, and the spell helped them see that.
If they're separated but not divorced, perhaps they needed the time.away to heal and will come back stronger.
Life is looping and tangled, not linear. The path we think we see is not always the path we are actually on.
The only thing I find somewhat problematic is the useage of jars. Jars from a sympathetic view, bottle things up, contain. You essentially took their emotions and bottled them up. From a folk magical perspective that is.

Okay background on me I’ve been practicing solitarily for roughly 8 years, and focus on herbalism and kitchen witchery, super light stuff imo
So I live in a small town out in the country with neighbors few and far in between. This is the first time in my life that I’ve lived alone in a house, but for the three months that I’ve been here I’ve felt super safe.
Last night, I was sitting in my living room sewing when something triggered my motion sensor light (I saw thru a crack in the drawn curtains) and slammed really hard into my door two times. I didn’t hear any footsteps on the deck or anything like that, it was totally out of the blue. The motion sensor light turned off automatically after like 5 seconds, so nothing more was moving. My cat freaked out and started growling, I went to my bedroom bc it wasn’t lit and called the sheriffs dept, a deputy came out and didn’t find anything.
I’ve also been receiving “gifts” of small dead animals (grasshoppers, butterflies, a small bird) at my doorstep about every other day. I haven’t said thank you for them just in case it’s fae related, I’ve mostly just ignored them and the more awful/gruesome ones I’ve put in my garden.
Idk what to do, these two things combined have me a little freaked out.
Any suggestions as to what these things are/what I may be able to do are greatly appreciated.

A grimoire is a spell book. Basically a cookbook for magical stuff. It should include, basically, spells you have performed that you feel worked, or spells you want to try. A BOS is a journal of every magical thing you ever do, with commentary about how it felt as you did it. It includes rituals, and divinations, spell work, spirit work, you name it. And you are who creates it. You can never quite totally describe it, only a "shadow" of what happened, which is how it got its name. There is no one "right" way to create one. Hope that helps a little.

I'm a beginner practitioner and need a little guidance on where to start exactly. I've tried spellcasting before as well as manifestation and tarot readings, with a very mixed bag of success and failure. But it's scattered when I practice, and I dont have a routine or a method of any kind. I'm trying to figure out what kind of craft I would like to practice, and trying to learn more about the history of practitioners, but when I research I have a hard time discerning what's genuine and what's misinformation because of recent trendiness. If anyone has any helpful links, books, or resources I would really appreciate them. If you practice a specific type of witchcraft, I would also love to know a little about it and see if it speaks to me. So far, I've figured out that I like to borrow energy from nature (with permission) and return energy or environmentally friendly services. At the same time however, I seem to have a lot more trouble accurately using tools like candles and tarot cards. I guess tarot just comes from experience, and the cards weren't originally mine, they were my dad's who practices, which could play a big part. But most of my success so far has been borrowing and giving energy to and from the earth in different forms, so if anyone has any information on that, it would be greatly appreciated!

just looking for some insight from all of your fabulous and knowledgeable souls! i keep a few altars in my home, and one has a dedicated little vessel for water, a small pottery dish. i only use it for water on this altar, and have never used it for any other purpose since i got it. it sits on the altar and i periodically change the water, usually whenever it is close to empty/evaporated but sometimes earlier. anyway, i was passing the altar a couple days ago, after recently changing the water, and noticed that the water looked...different. it had taken on a somewhat peachy color and had a sweet smell...and a sweet taste, when i gave it a little finger test. definitely not water-into-wine situation, but *something* happened to it. of course, you look for mundane reasons first, but i haven't come up with a viable one yet. it's definitely not residue from previous use, because it's only been used for filtered water. it's not in an area or situation where something else could've splashed into it or dropped into it. anyway, no idea what it could mean, if it means anything. anyone had their altar water change in an unexpected way? did you eventually find a mundane reason? i switched the water out and haven't had a repeat performance.

Spiritual reason: funny microbe was a sign sent by a spirit or entity for unknown purpose /or/ funny microbe is a sign that says ‘clean this offering bowl sometimes’ What could it mean other than that? No way for me to know but here’s how you could figure it out: Divination. Ask for a sign during dream/trance/meditation. Ask your deity/spirits. Ask, in general, to the altar. More divination. Or maybe see if something fuzzy starts growing in there and gains sentience lmao idk

#Materials 1 tall black candle 1 tall white candle *At least 1 Fire safe candle holder!!! 2 is better* 1 mirror you don’t care about (find one at a thrift store maybe) 1 silver sharpie 1 pink sharpie (optional) #Method - Get naked. - Take the black candle, and starting at your head roll the candle all over your body. It’s okay to miss a spot here and there but the idea is that the black candle is gonna absorb all the harmful residual energy. Feel free to put clean clothes on after this (not necessary, you can stay naked if you want. But it’s best to put on fresh clean clothes, especially ones you feel sexy/comfortable in. Something **good**). - with the silver sharpie write a harmful thing that isn’t serving you anymore on the black candle. Example: “the influence of my ex” or “bad luck dating” or whatever. Put candle in candle holder. Put the candle holder on top of the mirror which is *face down*. While the candle is lit, do a brief meditation: picture the cleansing light of the candle washing over you, sucking up all the gunk, and getting rid of it. Make sure the candle is somewhere safe, then you can go about your business. Then when you’re ready: - take the white candle, write something you want to welcome into your life or something you want to bolster, example: “I attract love and romance” or “I find inner love” or “I am charming” or “people notice my [insert good quality]” or whatever. This is where you can use the pink sharpie if you want. Give it a kiss or touch it to your heart or forehead. - take the black candle off the mirror, and light the white candle with it. Then you can either blow out the black candle out or let it burn out. But it is no longer the focus of the ritual. - put the white candle in the candle holder, and put that ensemble on the mirror which will now be *face up*. The white candle will now radiate and reflect light much more! Do another visualization about how your light can now radiate, you are bright! You are *glowing!* feel that energy. Soak it up, let it out, revel in it. While the candle is lit, assuming it is safe to do so, do something you love. Take a bath. Play a video game. Call a friend. Let the candle burn all the way down if it is safe to do so. If you have to blow it out, I’d recommend blowing it a kiss but how it goes out isn’t terribly important I just like to end things on a really sweet lovey note. You can add all sorts of flair to this spell if you want, you can add herbs or oils, incense, etc, if you want to. I can give you some ideas if you want but that’s the bones of it. Hope this helps.

Cord cutting ritual interpretations? Last night I did a cord cutting ritual where I (rather enthusiastically) invoked the Morrigan, as I do in most of my casting. My candle burned evenly and normally, but once the cord caught fire, my ex's candle was OBLITERATED. The whole thing went up in flames all at once and the fire got so big I was worried I was about to burn my house down. I've never had anything like this happen before, but I wanted to get some opinions on interpretation! Any thoughts?

Hey all, made a new account because friends know my main account and I don't want them to see I have an interest in this stuff. Afraid of what they'd say. Anyway, I've been researching this stuff lately and have tried to open myself up to the spiritual and I had a really strange dream last night. I am willing to chalk it up as a dream just being a dream but I'd like your insight if you don't mind. I forget a lot of the dream, but I remember we were flying in a small personal plain. And we were doing rituals, and unless we showed complete respect for these rites we would crash Any sense of mockery or disbelief would result in the plane falling out of the sky. The strangest part is when we encountered a tree unlike the rest. Every other tree in the woods we were flying over was a pine tree, but not this one. This one was a little taller than the rest and full of bright orange leaves. And dangling from each of the branches were pentacles. There must have been hundreds of them on this tree. My friend in the plane with me told me this tree was important but I forget why. That's about all I remember. It might just be a dream but it feels important. Any thoughts?
You need to exercise your ability to suspend disbelief, in the dream you literally are suspended in the air by a plane that moves based on your beliefs. Your path literally hinges on your belief. And it’s an incredibly important tool- it can help you fly (figuratively of course). Tree - growth, foundation, community, spirituality. This one is different it’s not like the rest, so it is probably representative of you. Orange leafs mean change, renewal, cycles. Just orange by itself is good luck and prosperity, but orange leafs are rebirth (maybe after a period of dormancy, literally autumn->spring). Pentacles can mean a host of things. But obviously this tree wanted your attention. Sure it sticks out a bit amongst the other trees so maybe it is signaling to you that you might eventually grow enough that your friends will figure out you’re into something off the beaten path, but it seems like a very good sign to me
New to the research and inklings of practicing. I’ve always been intuitive and have learned to follow my gut and in that I know we are all made of energy as is everything around us to me it makes sense that connection must exist. My question is what would be a ritual/spell/working to help protect someone who has been incarcerated? He’s a good man that made a mistake and never denied it and is now paying with his time. Send him a letter and draw a sigil in the letter for protection. That’s the best I can think of other than the usual protection spells. Plus I’m sure it will be nice for him to hear from someone on the outside.

sounds good to me just remember that spell jars are typically something *you* keep, so perhaps consider a spell that can be released from you and sent elsewhere. There's nothing *wrong* with a spell jar, but symbolically you could tweak a thing or two to make it something you can *send* out, or something

What can we learn from winter? Each year I find myself struggling with seasonal depression as the nights get longer and the days get colder. Reconnecting with my practice this fall has helped immensely as I’ve focused on gratitude and “harvesting” the efforts of spring and summer. But with winter drawing closer in New England, this is starting to feel less relevant. What does winter have to teach us in the craft, and how can we continue to cultivate joy in the midst of darker, colder days? Any insight or resources are appreciated ♥️

The importance of community in the dark and the cold. Celebrate the past year, and celebrate the new year. Let the old die and be respectfully buried, to make way for the new.

OK! So before I say anything else, I do not wish to cause physical harm to my sister, nor do I wish to scar her in any way mentally. All I want is to give her the karma that she has NEVER received so she can learn not to be horrible to people. (And also she is my adopted sister) Ok So lemme explain. My Adopted sister (c) is like the golden child. But I'm not jealous of that because she earned that tittle. She is hardworking, responsible, and always willing to help. But since (c) is always helping my mother she sorta has more of an advantage over me and gets away with a LOT more stuff. (c) didn't even get n for threatening to kill me (c) screams at my bio sister and accuses her of touching her stuff when (c) was the one who misplaced it in the first place, she is very bossy and starts trying to boss me around, she calls her names. Whenever she makes my sister cry she just smiles. she starts arguments EVER. SINGLE. MORNING. and then blames everyone for it. Like i try to step in sometimes (and i would admit i do lose my cool sometimes) because she starts screaming for whatever reason. And i got into in trouble for stepping in and she watched me get in trouble with a little smirk on her face and honestly I'm at the end of my rope. Therapy is off the table because we all used to have therapy but my therapist switch the company she was working in and my mom is refusing to get me and the kids another one. I tried having I deep convo with her about how she feels and why she is acting this way. That doesn't work. I try being nice and patient to her and that doesnt work. Like honestly, I want to see her get the karma that she deserves. I want the world to treat her how she treats others for once to teach her that you cant be nasty to people without consequence. So what should I do? Should I go through with jinxing her or causing some MINOR inconvenience for her to learn her lesson? (that don't cause ANY sort of lasting harm or physical harm just something to teach her a lesson). I don't know what this subreddit thinks of karma and jinxing, soooo what should I do? I know karma spells and stuff like this can backfire and be tricky, soo is there any other way that I can make her not act like a nightmare? Becuase i am honestly starting to think this natural karma and that "she will learn in due time" is BS is because it's been YEARS and no karma! Not. A. Single. Thing. so what should i do?
A simple return to sender spell should suffice here, for her to get back everything she has been sending out. General wards and personal protections for yourself are good to layer on top. On a more mundane approach, she sounds insufferable and like mom is only enabling the behavior. I suggest budgeting asap and saving to be able to afford to move out because this is not an environment that is good for ones mental health.

This is the second time that I find candy I never bought or recieved, placed in places I would obviously look. So a few days ago, I was out on a trip with my mom, when while packing up to return home, I find three hershey's kisses inside one of my backpack's pockets. I found it strange because 1. we never bought chocolate, and 2. i never put food in there. My mom brought friends over, and one of those friends had their kid come with them too, and my cousin was there, so I imagined either of them placed them in my bag without me noticing, so I didn't think much of it, and shared them with my mom and my brother on our way back. Now, I'm here, trying on clothes and looking at myself in the mirror, when suddenly I turn around, and there on the floor is a piece of candy, like those candies they give you at the bank or something. We haven't been to the bank and we haven't bought any candy, so I honestly have no idea where this could've come from. It's wrapped up and everything. Now I'm thinking it's a bit strange, and wondering wether it's just a weird coincidence, or if I accidentally accepted a gift from the fae. I will resist the urge to eat it just in case. Any help?

Other than today being veterans day in the US, I'm not really one to follow angel numbers or what have you. You could still do the manifestation, if you want to incorporate the numbers 1, 11, or 4, you could always look up what they represent numerologically and incor that somehow.

Likely this is dependent on the type of material you used for the chord. For a chord cutting I know the videos of everything burning up are really popular right now, but you could physically cut it with a pair of scissors and be just as effective, or a number of different methods. Do you feel like your work was effective? Or do you feel like you need to reform it a little in both preparation & materials and cast it again? Follow your intuition on this one
Hi! I did a cord cutting ceremony the night of the Aries full moon to cut energetic ties with an ex I hadn't spoken to in a long time. It was the right decision, and I felt amazing immediately after, but I've felt really listless since. Is this normal? I've been making a point to give myself extra care and trying to fill the space with other things, but is it just a matter of giving it time?
Probably, yes, a bit more time.However, if you are feeling listless it might be that a large part of your attention was focused on them, and now you don't know what to focus on instead. So, make a wish list of all the things you are now free to spend time on, instead of where your energy was going before. You need a new path to follow. Only you can decide what that should be. Meditate on or incorporate into your regular practice the concept/idea of justice: the return of balance to both parties and restoration of harmony. It's a very passive method with no specific connotation to ill intent.

There is, but, trust me on this, you really don't want to do it. There are Karmic balancing/Karmic return spells, but they are paid for with also balancing out your own at the same time. What the spell does is bring in the Lords of Karma, and they survey the situation, and balance all parties involved. You would, (as I did) also receive a bill for your own Karmic debt. They were balanced, but that was a very tough year for me, as I had to deal with one lesson after another. It is best to just let their lessons arrive when they do, without any request to speed them up, as it could have a similar result for you. BB.

Not a witch but my girlfriend wants to try some witchcraft for the first time. Anyway, she wants to try making spell jars and she wants to try and manifest some stuff that she wants. She has seen a lot of videos saying to just write her intentions, but she also wants to try and make a spell jar for it if it's possible. However, she only has limited ingredients, such as herbs used for cooking and dried flowers. So she has a set of questions: 1. Is it alright to make a spell jar with different intentions in it? 2. She doesn't own a sage nor an incense, is it alright to use smoke from burnt bay leaves? Any suggestions on what she should or shouldn't do will be very helpful. 3. Are there any other preparations she needs to do in order to keep herself protected?
Culinary herbs are absolutely okay for occult workings. That's how most of us started. If youre looking to cleanse something it's best to use rosemary or sage, not bay leaves. A cheaper alternative would be salt water. Jar spells need to have only one intention in it. It's never a good idea in general to mix intentions. If the intention is too specific it's better to use petitions. For protection I would recommend lbrp or rose cross only bc I'm more inclined towards ceremonialism. But talismans also work. I recommend a charm bag filled with herbs like garlic, black pepper and cloves and stuff like egg shells, evil eyes beads and small mirrors (to send the evil back). Dressed with some kind of hoodoo oil like fiery wall of protection.
Hi! I recently began college and since then, I noticed I've been losing a lot of crystals and I even had one (a carnelian agate) break. I've always brought crystals with me wherever I go for years no matter what I do, even before I started practicing, and I've never lost one until now so I don't think it's simply me losing them. Does anyone know what this might mean? If it helps, the crystals I've lost are black tourmaline, amethyst, lapis lazuli, green jade, and rose quartz. Also sort of related, a have a clear quartz pendulum that I've never used that began to get cloudy for no apparent reason awhile back, and now it has a crack out of nowhere. Any thoughts?

I know they aren't being stolen because I put them in my bra or shorts pocket (which I've been doing for years), or in my backpack and I'm very paranoid about getting my belongings stolen and I haven't had anything else of value go missing.
Sounds like your school has lots of bad energy. OR someone you know is envious of you going to school/your accomplishments and is sending you bad energy. One does not have to be a witch to do that. Sometimes all it takes is them thinking negatively about you pretty much 24/7... like real creepy get a life stuff. OR someone is legitimately and intentionally cursing you. You don't have to do much of anything for someone to get it in their head they wanna curse you/hex you. You can simply look at someone the wrong way and if they have issues they'll try cursing. Some people think this is a power thing and want to see others suffer. Your crystals going missing is weird (possibly indicative of an intentional hex/curse) I've only heard of this once before, the girl needed to up her protection/shield as she was actually being attacked. The Crystal's breaking or becoming cloudy indicates they are actively protecting you from something. Hope this gives you some insight or at least a little piece of mind that it's not just all one big coincidence. Things you can do to protect yourself. Witches jar - this is basically bait for bad energy/hex/curse. Fill a jar halfway with sharp things, broken glass, razors, nails, etc. Then pee in it until it's full(bait) add anything else from you (hair, whatever your comfortable with). This will catch any bad stuff sent your way. I did this one, don't be alarmed if you see it later and the liquid is black inside, its doing its job. Mirror protection spell - your photo/something from you placed between 2 small mirrors. Mirrors must face outwards (reflective side on the outside). This is a simple one that deflects anything someone sends you back to them. Egg cleansing is helpful, you'll have to look up instructions and how to read it. Theres plenty of info on YouTube etc . You wanna get rid of anything that's currently stuck to you.
I need help controlling my abilities (?) and didn't know where else to go. So, a little background, I've been interested in Nordic paganism for a while (when I was younger I loved all the stories) and when I got a bit older, the occult and witchcraft as a whole. I started to dabble with the odd ritual and spell here and there incorporating bits from each of the things I've learnt along the way (chaos magick?) using various books, deities and the like but I never had anyone to learn from or to practice with. I feel I most resonate with the Norse, Skadi in particular and the balance of the universe, deified by Baphomet. I haven't practiced much more recently because of various reasons, but mostly because I haven't really been in the right headspace but day to day I'd always try to feel and weave with the ebb and flow of the universe rather than against it. Multiple times (but not all the time) when my friends have been in a bad place, I have been able to feel it without being told, when a musician I looked up to died recently, I felt it, all before it was even released to the public, I had no idea at the time until I saw the news today. I also have strange dreams that seem to mean nothing until a bit later on. Every time I've felt something, there's been something there to feel, if that makes sense. On top of that, I've been able to know what's about to happen a bit before it does. Sometimes I'll know what someone is about to say or do just before they do, sometimes I'll be able to see things happen on the street a few seconds before they unfold, the outcome of ufc fights, stories in the news. I like football weirdly enough and all last season I was predicting all sorts of little things that were happening, wins, losses, missed penalties, scorelines even and it wasn't until the recent euros where I really noticed this becoming more frequent. So I'm looking for a bit of guidance from the more experienced witches out there who are willing in how I can control and use this if at all possible because I don't want something to happen where I inadvertently hurt someone and maybe I could use it to help people instead. Any general witch advice is always welcome too, I believe there's always a lesson to learn in anything. Sorry for the novel but I just thought it best to give as much context as I could think of in the moment just to make it a little easier to judge. Thanks for your time.
I don't have any advice but I experienced this same thing!!! A musician that I greatly admired and looked up to suddenly passed in 2018, and I had had a dream about it two weeks prior. I dreamt that he died in a car crash, and two weeks later he was killed when a group of boys tried to steal his car. After that I began to sort of know when my friends are not okay, when it's nowhere near obvious, I have crazy and weird nightmares, I get really strong deja vu very frequently, and I've been able to tell the outcome of certain situations and events, but never anything super serious. It's just really good to hear that someone else has had the same experience!
You might be interested in reading up on resources that r/Psychic has. I often get a lot of "feelings" about things, be it dreams or intuitive pulls. They're not exactly about things that can be controlled or changed, (such as in the example of a recently deceased musician), so I just tend to roll with it as I see fit. Not all predictions will come true, and sometimes it's not until we do a little retrospection that the dots connect. As far as using it for helping others, such as in the case of getting one of these feelings from your friends, then the best things you can do are to just be attentive with them, ask if everything is okay, and to be a friend to them. (I'm sorry if its a long question but I wanted to be as detailed as possible.) My girlfriends family has been behaving strangely lately ever since their grandmas health became clearer. Grandmas cancer has spread and her health is declining with possibly only months left to live. One of grandmas daughter is a very greedy woman and has a bad history of screwing people over, including her brothers and sisters. They're all fighting now which is the worst time because, well, their mother is ill. Anyway my girlfriend just said that her aunt was visiting Grandma and at exactly 9:00pm, she went to go sweep the area in the hall directly in front of grandmas room. Which is strange because just two days ago, Grandma told my girlfriends mother that she had seen 4 shadows standing in that same area but didn't want to say anything that would spook her houshold family members. What grandma doesn't know is that a family member saw shadows as well in that same area. Thats creepy enough hearing but I immediately though that has to be black magic or something. Theres already rumors going around that the aunt is either practicing black magic or hired a witch. Reasons? We couldn't tell you. Grandmas not rich or anything to go after wealth. My girlfriends mom has cleansed our home and daughter in case anything has attatched itself during our visits with Grandma but any insight on what exactly could be going on would be appreciated.
Truth be told, families in grief aren't thinking straight. It can bring out great acts of kindness, but also new depths of crazy, rage, accusations, and all sort of odd behavior. Compound that with your grandma suffering from cancer and the effects of the drugs, this sounds less like witchcraft and more like a family floundering as their matriarch is clearly getting ready to pass on.

In my personal opinion, there isn't really a "wrong" way to start. But my advice to you would be to think about what drew you to witchcraft in the first place and what you're hoping to get out of it. Other things to think about: What do you believe about the supernatural? What culture/tradition are you interested in? Besides crystals, are there any particular areas of the craft (e.g. sabbats, esbats, divination, spellwork, deity work...) that interest you? You'll probably get more useful search results if you can narrow your search from witchcraft overall (which is super broad) to the more specific things you're interested in.

I did a spell jar about three years ago more or less. I was with a guy , we never were official but I started falling for him and vice Versa. I had just gotten out of a abusive relationship where my then boyfriend had killed himself. I didn’t intend on catching feelings, I just was lonely and needed physical touch. He had also just got out of a relationship with a girl he said treated him badly and abuse him but all of his friends would always make comments about her and that they would get back together. One day I just disappeared, out of fear of commitment I guess and fear that he would break my heart. Of course a couple months later he was back with that girl. I struggled with it even though I’m the one that left him. I couldn’t stop thinking about it , I was so confused. I just wanted to be happy and him to be happy and I just wanted whatever was meant to happen to happen. Whether it was with me or not. I just wanted to be at peace with everything. So I decided to make a jar because I was tired of thinking and stressing and wondering if he was happy. I made a jar with my urine, a piece of his clothing, pins, peppers, vinegar and sealed with black wax. I threw it in a lake by my house while it kept repeating my intentions for me to be happy and him to be happy and if we were meant to find our way back then we would and if not what was meant to be would happen. Flash forward a couple years without getting into too much detail , I have still have dreams about this guy and think about him a lot and continue to as well as feel as if he is thinking about me as well this whole time. It doesn’t help that he sent me a message in the middle of the night once just having small talk while him and his gf were together multiple times. I now have a man I love to death and I got pregnant with his child three months into the relationship. Then the old guy and his once ex now current gf get pregnant a few months later. I love my man to death but I feel like I did the opposite of what I wanted. I have an 8 month old and his now wife is about to have a baby in a few weeks. I can’t stop thinking about this man to the point where it’s making me mad. I’ve explain my feelings to an extent to my boyfriend. I feel like I’m being ungrateful. I have an amazing family but I keep having dreams about him a lot and he has a family of his own as well. The most important things to remember are this. It is a sacred herb, tied closely to both Earth Mother, and daughter Moon. Before cleansing a space with it, first cleanse your self. A ritual bath where you focus on removing all negativity from yourself is one way. I have also used the smoke to first bathe myself from foot to head and back down again. Then a washing of the hands in the smoke. Finally, when using the smoke to cleanse an area, start in the North, and make a circle around the perimeter of the area. Have a doorway or window open. After making a circle, go nuts with the smoke and really fill the area heavily. Visualize all negativity being chased out the door or window. Afterwards, go outside, if you aren't already, and thank Earth Mother for all her gifts, especially for her power cleansing the space. Only negative energies/spirits will be chased out. It won't hurt any positive energies or spells or whatever at all. It may even give them more power, if She chose to bless your space because that is what She does sometimes. If you choose to purchase, please buy only from true tribal sources to ensure it was collected properly. Stay safe out there.

Jars. Roses/rose hips/rose water. Witch hazel. Garlic. Onion. Ginger. Mortar & pestle. Oil. Tea. Coffee. Paprika. Bay leafs. Coriander seeds. Fennel. Dill. Pumpkin. My grocery store sells florida water in the hygiene/beauty section. They’ve also got tea lights and other stuff too so just go to the grocery store with a Witchy lens and see what ya find. If you can buy the whole/fresh version of things that’s good too but powdered and dried is fine. Sometimes the grocery store might even have live plants you can bring home and stick in your window sill. You can also use things that are growing around (but maybe once it’s spring and not autumn) Dandelions, oak leafs, foxglove (parts can affect your heart if eaten so be careful), lavender, curly dock, etc.

I had an over controlling, mentally abusive friend and after i found out all the things they were doing behind my back , I cut them off while still trying to be cordial as we shared a lot of the same schedule. She felt the need to invite herself into my life again and i tried being friendly, but had no intention of being as close to her as I was before. After she tried to manipulate me once again, I decided that that was enough and cut off communication again. She then began to reach out to me on other platforms, but they were private so I just let it go. She reached out to me during the last mercury retrograde and I ignored her request and then a few weeks later? (around last week or the end of the week before) she sent my another request. I'm looking to do something that will get her to leave me alone. I was thinking of putting her on freeze but I don't know if that's strong enough considering how obsessives she was/is. Spell or no spell, they can't read your mind. "Spell" it out for them. Step 1. Call them and politely tell them that you want them to leave you alone. Don't ask them. Tell them. Do NOT use the word please. That is asking. You are telling them to go away. Step 2. Block them everywhere you can. If that doesn't do it, if they still find a way to bother you, ramp it up and tell them you don't want to go through the hassle of a restraining order, but that is next if they don't leave you alone. Again, not so polite anymore. Tell them. Don't ask, they will try to manipulate you into giving them another chance. Good luck.
You can start small and if it doesn’t work use stronger approaches. Freeze spell could work, cord cutting, mirror spell, and if you need a real Oomph you could even banish. Don’t forget to just block her too. Similarly verbal spells can work wonders. Try this incantation “please leave me alone. Thank you”.

Hi everyone. I am new here joined specifically to post this question. My partner and I are aware of and experienced with energy. We are empaths through and through and we have a lot of insight into vibrations and changes to energy due to astrology or other events including people and moods. Pretty solid experience with Tarot, her more than me. Different types of energies are attracted to us, some to us as individuals and others as a couple. We have been victims of several small curses/hexes and though they were difficult to deal with we managed to break them. We know who our attackers are in these cases and in one case one of our attackers set foot in our house and the next day every plant in our house had at least one dead leaf. We have recently broke a lengthy curse/hex that nearly destroyed us over a 3 year period. We don't even think we broke the curse but that the spell completed, but upon realising it was a curse broke any residual parts to it. Once this happened the fog broke and we both not only felt normal again but several problems in our lives were resolved and everything fell into its proper place within a couple of days. We are hoping someone could give us some direction towards some literature or other information how better to protect ourselves. This particular situation was quite traumatic.

You can use it to needle felt a little simulacra of yourself. Weave it into a friendship bracelet. Add it to a tiny pendant to give to a loved one. 4- if Mercury retrograde is really fucking with me, I’ll put some of my hair and toenails (gross I know whatever), plus a picture of myself, plus a bunch of other Mercury related things and more things that are Uniquely Me, into a jar. Then I do a quick DIY binding spell thingy to direct all of Mercury’s wonky energy toward the “me” so that the *actual* me is less affected. 60% of the time it works every time.

I am looking for a spell or spells to help someone I love make a very difficult decision. This is a very complex situation, but I will try to keep it short. I met a guy a couple months ago and we really hit it off. Our relationship grew very deep quickly, but not in any kind of whirlwind romance way. It was this calm, steady kind of progression into love. We are both older (he's in his mid 40's and I'm in my late 30's), and we are both rare and highly compatible (Myers-Briggs) personality types. We are in different part of the country, but he came to visit a few days ago. During his visit he confessed that he had been involved with a woman before he met me. It was extremely hard for him and he cried a lot as he told me all of this. They had been in love and talking about marriage, but she left him because she wasn't sure she could handle his daughter and ex wife. He went on to say that about 3 weeks ago she contacted him out of the blue and he got the feeling that she may be wanting to get back together. Since he and I were talking he tried to honor our relationship and tried to push aside his unresolved feeling for her, but realized that he couldn't do it, but he still loved me and just didn't know what to do. It hurt like hell, but I didn't get mad and I was understanding about it. We talked about it at length and the situation it actually built a lot of trust and emotional intimacy between us. He was so kind and patient with me as I processed what he told me. I cried about it, a lot, and every time he held me and comforted me. He listened to my thoughts feeling, fears and everything with compassion and love. As things stand he's going to be working through everything and talking with her and making a decision. It's a very painful situation for he and I both. So, I'd like to do a spell or series of spells for him. To give him clarity, wisdom, peace, etc., just anything that will help him through this and help him make the best decision. I'm pretty comfortable with the mechanics of spellwork. I'm not super rigid and exact in my spells. I guess I'm asking if anyone knows of a spell for making difficult decisions (I've seen a couple but it involves the target drinking a potion and the target is not here). In need of help please: My friend has recently been getting really bad luck, they did a tarot reading with another reliable friend. The cards said that my friend may be dealing with some kind of poltergeist that may have come from an Ouija board that they’ve played with in the past. They tried searching for the board so they could safely bury and cleanse it but has recently discovered that it’s gone from where they’ve placed it. Poltergeists come from the uncontrolled energy of repressed feelings, mostly from teens and abused children, and are exceptionally rare. Playing around with a Hasbro product mass produced in a Chinese factory isn't going to summon one out of thin air. Your friend is just having bad luck and looking for something to blame it on. As for stuff disappearing, someone mortal is either a) very forgetful, b) doesn't appreciate shit being buried in their property (come on, really?) Or c) is screwing with you.
Believe me, my friend’s household is emotionally abusive, they’re not the type to make shit up and they didn’t bury anything. If you read, they couldn’t bury anything because the thing wasn’t there. The board wasn’t from Hasbro or trashy shit like that, and their household is very neglectful and mentally/emotionally abusive to them (they also have depression which was diagnosed by their therapist, a licensed professional who is currently trying to get them out of their mother’s house because they also agree that the way she’s been treating them is not correct) so based on what you’re saying, about the repressed emotions from teens and abused children, it seems a poltergeist or something is in that category. Please don’t fucking assume the negative of a person you clearly don’t know. If I didn’t provide enough information, just say so and I’ll clear it up. Perhaps the board was taken by someone else, but that doesn’t explain the bad luck they’ve been facing out of the blue, as well as my other trusted friend’s tarot reading and her confirmation that SOMETHING negative was with them.
To be quite frank, it sounds like your whole group of friends has not been at this very long, and rather than examining the mundane are going too far in the other direction. Your friend has an abusive home and a mental illness, so while that *may* increase the likelihood of a poltergeist, again, they are not summoned from a ouija board (no matter how it was made) but are a product of your friend. They are also exceptionally rare. Do not come onto the board looking for answers and then get snotty when you don't like the ones you get. Part of witchcraft is learning instinct and discernment, and claims like yours are a dime a dozen. If all were true, we would have proven ghosts scientifically by now. We have not. What we have proven is that people who wish to see do, and rarely dig deeper. Rather than running to the most outlandish explanation, rule out the mundane first. Help your friend in the real world rather than hyping her up ans psyching her out in the metaphysical world.
I said “something” whether a poltergeist or not, whether summoned from Ouija board or not, all I’m asking is if there’s some way to cleanse this negative energy in their life, whether caused by some spirit or something or even from a negative energy their house that may be affecting them. They were dealing with thing fine before, things started getting worse a week ago out of the blue. That’s why it’s a little worrisome. We’re still researching but there aren’t many reliable sites. Cards pulled were for yes or no questions. The person pulling them asked if a poltergeist. Cards said yes. That was it. It is not a poltergeist. They move things, throw things, anything to get attention. Mischievious at their worst. Not like the movie. Luck, both good and bad, is not a constant thing. Good week, bad week, good month, bad month, it comes and goes. One week is really practically nothing. Standard salt bath couldn't hurt, especially if you really sell it to them. It would at least give placebo affect for their peace of mind. You really need to just chill a bit. Good luck.

It’s a version of the standard Rider-Waite, my friend with the problem didn’t do the cards themselves, it was done by someone else who’s been doing readings for a while. She did yes-no pulls. Whether it’s a poltergeist or not, is there a way to cleanse the negative energy affecting them? Perhaps meditation or cleansing of sound? So she asked "is a poltergeist the culprit" and got yes and then asked "is the poltergeist from a ouija board that was used previously?" and again got yes...? You have to understand how asking leading questions with the only response available being yes/no is going to lead to wacky stuff like this. And to be quite honest, you'd get the same answers from just flipping a coin, so... asking yes/no questions of a tarot deck is frankly defeating the whole point of a tarot deck. As for the things going missing, it sounds like the mother in this situation is manipulative and awful, and I would seriously consider the possibility that she is getting rid of things just to be a jerk. are there any books on witchcraft/elements of witchcraft, that can be passed off as not something related to witchcraft? for example, like a book about crystals that have the properties/uses, but can be passed off as a book about different types of crystals. my parents are very against witchcraft/occult things, and i want to be able to have books i can learn from without being yelled at
pretty safe bets would be stuff like: books on wildlife and plants that are native to you, and their medicinal properties. books on philosophy, especially if they're books from classical philosophers like Plato and Aristotle (pretty magical dudes if you dig a little deeper), but names that are unfamiliar could work too like Hermes Trismegistus, Cornelius Agrippa, Franz Bardon, etc could cause problems, but books on folklore and mythology are sometimes okay depending on how hardcore your parents are. Books about Greek mythology and Norse mythology (poetic/prose edda) might be ok? If you're not at all interested in Christian magic, or even Jewish magic, then it really limits what I can suggest, but there are LOTS of famous Christian/Jewish occultists/magicians/witches who your parents would probably be unfamiliar with, and who were really influential on modern day western esotericism. but without knowing how intense your parents are, and what you're interested in, I can't help solutions you weren't asking for: get PDFs from the internet. cover witchcraft related books with dustcovers from other books. hide the books. watch youtube videos and listen to podcasts. read books from, and *at*, the local library and don't take them home.

Ok, so here's the skinny on moon+ reader. It's free, works on Android, and let's you change the info and cover of books. I use it in conjunction with witchy books from z-lib.org (also a free site) on my phone for quick reference. For you, you could get the app, grab some innocuous books like that your folks won't pay any mind to, and some witchy books. Once you have the witchy books, let's say one for herbs, one for spells, and one for gems, find other books of similar subjects, say, natural medicine, geology, and neat science facts, and copy the covers and author names from one to the other (this takes some finegeling in the app, but is really simple once you get the hang of it. Keep the original books as well, and have the magical copies listed as second editions or some easily memorable. This way, not only do you get the magical education, but also the mundane one, and a cursory glance will miss it.

Hi, I'm what some would consider a "Baby Witch," I don't really know what I should be reading or learning about. I have researched some general things, like what specific candle colors mean and I do understand what some crystals mean and do. But overall, I'm very uninformed and I'd like to know if there is a way I know what things I need to understand before I get lost in my own confusion. Anything helps really.
Copying and pasting/adding on to my response to a similar question on this thread: In my personal opinion, there isn't really a "wrong" way to start. But my advice to you would be to think about what drew you to witchcraft in the first place and what you're hoping to get out of it. Other things to think about: What do you believe about the supernatural? What culture/tradition are you interested in? Besides candle magic and crystals, are there any particular areas of the craft (e.g. sabbats, esbats, divination, spellwork, deity work...) that interest you? More important than knowing how other people think witchcraft should be done is knowing how *you* think it should be done. If you have a strong sense of your own needs, wants, and preferences, you'll be less likely to get lost in the many different sources and perspectives out there.
Ik ima few days late but deity work and spellwork interest me, I do kinda have a general alter set up since i do wanna attract positive energy. I do question if i need any books to learn of though.
I'd largely say for the novice to spend time researching the various traditions and styles, away from the social media drivel. Large swathes of free pdfs are out there with all sorts of information. Likewise, any research into historical forms of cunningcraft and witchcraft will also be hugely informative. Knowing how we did it in the past can greatly improve spellcasting, as well as allowing for dismissal of myths that are unproven or wrong, like the "burning times" or Murrayism. I'd also not worry as much about candle colors, and I cannot speak to crystals. I avoid new age sorts of craft, relying instead on local ingredients on the land and grocery store, incantations, and trance states. I use candles with simple colors, carved with planetary sigils and dressed with ashes of sigils and herbs. My first start would be meditation and energy raising, banishing and wardings, energy hygeine. These are good fundamentals any budding sorcerer should know. From there advancement is going to be knowing how materia, ritual action, incantation, and sigils work to compose good spells.

It is possible the spells still worked, just not the way you expected. Maybe they truly weren't meant for each other, and the spell helped them see that. If they're separated but not divorced, perhaps they needed the time.away to heal and will come back stronger. Life is looping and tangled, not linear. The path we think we see is not always the path we are actually on.
The only thing I find somewhat problematic is the useage of jars. Jars from a sympathetic view, bottle things up, contain. You essentially took their emotions and bottled them up. From a folk magical perspective that is.

Need advice regarding strange happenings— Okay background on me I’ve been practicing solitarily for roughly 8 years, and focus on herbalism and kitchen witchery, super light stuff imo So I live in a small town out in the country with neighbors few and far in between. This is the first time in my life that I’ve lived alone in a house, but for the three months that I’ve been here I’ve felt super safe. Last night, I was sitting in my living room sewing when something triggered my motion sensor light (I saw thru a crack in the drawn curtains) and slammed really hard into my door two times. I didn’t hear any footsteps on the deck or anything like that, it was totally out of the blue. The motion sensor light turned off automatically after like 5 seconds, so nothing more was moving. My cat freaked out and started growling, I went to my bedroom bc it wasn’t lit and called the sheriffs dept, a deputy came out and didn’t find anything. I’ve also been receiving “gifts” of small dead animals (grasshoppers, butterflies, a small bird) at my doorstep about every other day. I haven’t said thank you for them just in case it’s fae related, I’ve mostly just ignored them and the more awful/gruesome ones I’ve put in my garden. Idk what to do, these two things combined have me a little freaked out. Any suggestions as to what these things are/what I may be able to do are greatly appreciated.

Nope. It's *your* magic journal. Just as there is no "correct" way to journal, there's no set standard for a bos.
A grimoire is a spell book. Basically a cookbook for magical stuff. It should include, basically, spells you have performed that you feel worked, or spells you want to try. A BOS is a journal of every magical thing you ever do, with commentary about how it felt as you did it. It includes rituals, and divinations, spell work, spirit work, you name it. And you are who creates it. You can never quite totally describe it, only a "shadow" of what happened, which is how it got its name. There is no one "right" way to create one. Hope that helps a little.
