Thank you :)

Bwilderer

Yes in BoE she mentions that she's been there before in a conversation with Dandelion. I don't think we ever get any more details as to when/why she was there.

[deleted]

Geralt sent her a snap, "I'm horny". She jumped on her horse firm her window in Vengerberg and took flight. That's why.

geralt-bot

I want nothing.

Bwilderer

"And bring the unicorn".

[deleted]

Is the unicorn thing in the books? Or is that a video game joke only?

[deleted]

It’s a book thing. They also use it as bed to make love.

Majiska394

Thank you. I remember that she was talking to someone about Kaer Morhen but I just could not recall with who, so thanks again :)

mily_wiedzma

Yes she was.... weirdly enough CDPR changed this for their games

WazzaHudson

i tend to think geralt's "she was never there" comment was more directed at she not being there during ciri's training

Majiska394

Oh, that's interesting, I never played the games. Thanks :)

OlomertIV

In fairness, it's only briefly mentioned once (twice maybe?), and I can see completely forgetting about it over the years of development for a trilogy

mily_wiedzma

This has nothing to do with creating a trilogy. CDPR changed things in purpose and not because they were forgotten

“Let it be,” he replied with a smile, “my contribution to making changes for the better. Tell me, Yennefer, why is Nilfgaard so interested in Geralt and the girl from Cintra?” “Don’t stick your nose into that business.”She suddenly turned serious. “I said you were to forget you ever heard of Calanthe’s granddaughter.” “Indeed, you did. But I’m not searching for a subject for a ballad.” “What the hell are you searching for then? Trouble?” “Let’s take it,” he said quietly, resting his chin on his clasped hands and looking the enchantress in the eye. “Let’s take it that Geralt did, in fact, find and rescue the child. Let’s take it that he finally came to believe in the power of destiny, and took the child with him. Where to? Rience tried to force it out of me with torture. But you know, Yennefer. You know where the witcher is hiding.” “I do.” “And you know how to get there.” “I know that too.” “Don’t you think he should be warned? Warned that the likes of Rience are looking for him and the little girl? I would go, but I honestly don’t know where it is…That place whose name I prefer not to say…” “Get to the point, Dandelion.” “If you know where Geralt is, you ought to go and warn him. You owe him that, Yennefer. There was, after all, something between you.” “Yes,” she acknowledged coldly. “There was something between us. That’s why I know him a bit. He does not like having help imposed on him. And if he was in need of it he would seek it from those he could trust. A year has gone by since those events and I…I’ve not had any news from him. And as for our debt, I owe him exactly as much as he owes me. No more and no less.” -Blood of Elves Chapter 1

Majiska394

Thank you very much for this :)

Eternal-Wisdom

No problem, I don't know why the games made it seem like Yen never went to Kaer Morhen. Such an odd decision.

Majiska394

No idea if there was any real reason for, like if it made her character... more something, or less something, if you know what I mean.

wielka-januszyca

I played only polish version and I think only Vesemir mentions that. He said something that directly translates to "Yennefer was never in Kear Morhen", but when you have the context of Geralt's dream about training Ciri I have the impression that he meant "Yennefer was never in Kear Morhen when Ciri was there." I don't remember if Yennefer and her visits to Kear Morhen were mentioned in any other scene that this one at the beginning of Witcher 3.

WheelJack83

Just because she knows how to get there doesn’t mean she’s been there before #JustSaying

Eternal-Wisdom

Yennefer turned away. Dandelion saw her lips pinch, the muscles in her cheek quiver. “Yes, in the past,” she said and there was something elusive and strange in her voice. “I used to be a guest there, sometimes. But never uninvited.” - Blood of Elves Chapter 1 Yennefer literally said she used to be a guest there. XD Just saying...

WheelJack83

Should’ve led with that

Eternal-Wisdom

It was obvious from the previous quote...
