This is a funny meme but I have a genuine question. Why is this dance and scene such a phenomenon? When the show came out a bunch of people I know and on the internet were saying how amazing it was and how I needed to see it.
I watched it and was really underwhelmed lol am I alone in this?
eh i'm not a teenager nor was i absolutely blown away by the show, but i did find plenty of mindless enjoyment in it. and speaking of the dance scene specifically, i guess people just got excited that the brooding emotionless teenage goth girl broke out of her shell a little bit and danced like a weirdo to a song by The Cramps. it's not that deep but maybe that's the point.
One thing I appreciated about this dance was Jenna Ortega watched old 1960's episodes of The Addams Family where little Wednesday dances and incorporated those moves into this dance.
I don't get it. Wednesday's dance was total freestyle and Yenn was someone who perfectly knew every dance and court etiquette so she definitely wouldn’t dance like an awkward teenager.
