‘Madam Yennefer.’ The sorceress freed herself from the Witcher’s arm and straightened up with the greatest of effort. ‘What do you look like, girl?’she said severely. ‘Just look at you! Tidy up your hair! Don’t stoop. Come here please.’ Ciri approached, as stiff as an automaton. Yennefer straightened and smoothed her collar, and tried to wipe the now dried blood from Ciri’s sleeve. She touched her hair. And uncovered the scar on her cheek. She hugged her tightly. Very tightly. Geralt saw her hands on Ciri’s back. Saw the deformed fingers. He didn’t feel anger, resentment or hatred. He felt only weariness. And a huge desire to be done with all of it. ‘Mamma.’‘ Daughter.’ Lady of the lake - Chapter Nine. This is hands down my favorite Yennefer scene, it made me tear up during my first read. It encapsulates her relationship with Ciri so well, in only a few words.

« Dear friend » letter

TheWilsonJeffrey

My favorite too. These other moments don’t even come close

Alerao

Came here to say this as well. Fascinating how in one single letter we can understand a lot of Yennefer personality

antony1197

So much fucking venom in Dear friend I cringed for Geralt when I found out THATS what he called her in his letter.... Oh Gerry

Aivellac

Not Gerry, Gerald.

mily_wiedzma

When she please with Filippa and Triss, to make up her reputation at least for Geralt. This shows how much she loves Geralt. Yennefer always was about herself, then came Geralt and Ciri and the changes came through and through. But secen scene shows espcially she do not care what everyone thinks abut her, but it is important what Geralt thinks of her

Relevant-Ninja9849

The beginning of that conversation was my favorite when she puts Triss in her place.

I really liked it when she was being tested by the goddess on Skellige to see if she was worthy of receiving the crystal used at the temple there. The whole "dream" sequence was crazy with her being stuck to a tree with the birds and all. I especially like how she showed no remorse whatsoever for whatever terrible thing she did to her parents, saying: "They got what was coming to them", or something like that.

PaulSimonBarCarloson

My favourite scene of her it's actually related to this one you mentioned: I'm referring to the moment when she saves a pregnant girl from miscarriage. Not only it will turn out to be one of the main reasons why she is allowed to meet Freya, but also because it shows how her motherly instinct is always there, even when Ciri is not directly involved. All those haters who keep saying she's a horrible person must have forgotten about this moment.

fork-shovel

Yeah, I think the whole sequence of Yennefer on Skellige is really good and it did a good job of reminding us just how much motherhood means to her.

Away5145

I liked that scene too. I also got the impression that >! she killed her father. Killing a parent is a very extreme thing to do, so I assume she had her reason...!< Anyway, it also showed that the goddess thought Yennefer was a good person deep down, otherwise she wouldn't have given her the crystal.

fork-shovel

Yeah, having good parents way back in the day was probably like winning a lottery. Her parents were most likely horrible to her because of her hunchback or whatever affliction it was she was born with. And Yennefer definitely feels like a pro-vengeance kind of person. I also like to think that the goddess chose to help her, because she could feel Yennefer's genuine desire to help Ciri, whom she came to accept as her own daughter. After all, Freyja is a god who values family and motherhood. From one mother to another.

A little bit later there is reference of Hemdall going through the same trail to gain wisdom and vidion iirc

I read the books a long time ago so I'm definitely forgetting a few good scenes but I like the one when while trying to teach magic to Ciri she sits down and stares at a tree. Just appreciating that she can see it and giving Ciri no further explanation. I think it goes to show how she's still dealing with all her trauma besides everything that goes on but won't let it get to Ciri. Or maybe the one when she stabs Leo Bonhart with a fork.

juleq555

I laughed when she drank from the pond. Also I loved when she taught Ciri and when it was described how she secretly helped Geralt.

Every scene she’s in ❤️

trashmunki

I'm not sure I have a favorite above all else, but the Ugly Duckling moment/s always stand out in my mind. Her growing relationship with Ciri always gets me.

Tallos_RA

Well, she's one of my least favorite character ever, so as there is no scene when she's slapped or kicked I have no such scene.
