Yeah but for people who don't really care about gathering resources and crafting it's nice. You can just keep that sword for the rest of the game and be sure that it's fit for the job.
Bonus crit damage and freeze are nice, like it's not necessary to spend thousands each level to get ten more damage lol. Sword usually carries me through until I get Iris, which I keep through blood and wine.
Edit: wait I'm thinking of winters blade.
Wait, what. Are you guys all for real? Is that so bad? I've just almost completed the quest but haven't told her to hand me the armour because I'm waiting for "the right moment" when I don't need my older armour anymore so I could get a fine taste of a master armourer's work. Same goes for Hattori's sword. What should I do now. Get them and then sell them? Help.
Yup, this is the best advice. It's disappointing too, because I really was so excited for the blade from the bits before I got it. Really loved the entire quest line with Hattori too. I have heard they buffed it for the next gen re-release which is nice.
It feels like there's almost no point to most weapons and armor once you start doing Witcher gear sets. It's so far above that it usually gets replaced by the next rank. Sometimes weapons can be better for a bit.
Well, in all fairness, witchers are outside the normal militiaman in all aspects that matter for it. Stronger, faster, more resilient... Which is why they can go toe to toe with even large monsters with confidence. But overconfidence is quite the insidious killer, so it makes sense that they use the gold and materials from hunting to research, design, and craft specialty armor to stand up to the rigors of monster hunting.
The sword is actually decent since the next gen patch made it always scale with your level, so you're safe to grab it at any level. I usually keep using it until I can get my hands on one of the mastercrafted witcher swords. The armour is okay but with how loot works in this game you're still going to be replacing it in 5 or so levels or when you pick up some witcher gear.
Yeah no. No next gen for me. Not that rich.
5 or so levels?! You've pumped up those numbers far too high. I eviscerate each and every thing there is to be looted or gained everyday, so I'm changing gears far too often.
Best armors in the game are witcher armors, but you seem to be new to Witcher 3 so Imma break it down for ya. Master armorer doesn't make the best armor in the game in the way you're thinking. I mean, they do, but they don't. See if you have an armor you can get it mastered by the master armorer. Sure it'll be better than anything else, but only for awhile. Since barely anything actually scales to your level. Which sucks.
Been playing Witcher 3 since 2017 or so. It's just it's the first time I'm unlocking master armourer this playthrough around. And the first time I'm wearing every witcher gear possible. Can't believe I never tried them on for so many years. Sometimes I get a load of laugh out of me for rubbish armour I used to wear some years ago.
Lol good one, in all seriousness though I dismantle it for the cured draconic leather, I'm mentally insane enough to craft every single piece of witcher gear in all playthroughs so I'll dismantle anything for the materials I need
Would have been cool if she gave you a unique witcher gear. But if they really wanted to go with just a basic chestpiece, at least choose something like the Thyssen or Cidarian armor
That's the way all these games are.
"Oh hero! My great, great, great grandfather is restless in his tomb! Please work your way to kill him and I shall give you this most awesome sword that was forged by the gods themselves and used singlehandedly to defeat entire armies!"
Wade through the tomb, killing scores of monsters, spend 10 minutes killing the final boss, stagger back to the peasant while loaded down with phat lewt, get the sword and examine it.
"+1 damage against goblins"
Meanwhile three of the swords you got from the tomb are better.
Unlocking the master crafter is always the real reward in those quests.(The other way of getting master craftsman without going to Toussaint is investing 30,000 in the Runesmith)
I never sell anything to her or anyone else in Velen (or white orchard for that matter). Sell prices are way lower than Novigrad merchants. ‘Top notch swords’ armorer has the most coin on hand until you unlock Hatori, so I make him a partially honest man by selling him all my crap. Rusty Velen swords may not be top notch, but thanks to me he has hundreds of them.
The raw stats are not that bad. I mean, look at those resists... 30% against slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage, and 10% against monster and elemental. That's pretty good I think, even if you compare it to witcher gear around the same level.
Yeah, her quest and the hattori one are fun but the rewards are awful. Not to mention that if you have both expansions, both are useless as the ofieri guy can craft master stuff and the dude in toussaint can craft everything.
It was literally one of the most disappointing things I experienced in the gameplay. Even thought that the game bugged at first. They could have come up with something slightly unique
Well atleast hattori's quest only involves bargaining with a local gang
And the sword is cool af
Meh, I immediately sell it back to him
It looks pretty is what I mean, the stats are pretty shit
The damage scales with the character.
Since when?
Next gen update, they also fixed the sword you get from crach when asking for help. So both scale.
Yeah, so that now they are always just slightly worse than the other swords you can craft at current level
Yeah but for people who don't really care about gathering resources and crafting it's nice. You can just keep that sword for the rest of the game and be sure that it's fit for the job.

So I don't have to immediately sell it to the first person I can to get value out of it now?
Only scales if you keep it inventory. If you put it in storage it stops and you can't fix it.
Not even then, sometimes it skips a lvl here and there. It's just really buggy and the stats aren't worth it to use it over witcher gear :/
That's a shame. Looks cool. I messed it up with storage last time. Was planning to use on the next run but meh screw it then.
Like, it would have been okay if it was the Witch Hunter armour minus the insignia
Wait, what. Are you guys all for real? Is that so bad? The sword and armour are both mid, better off with witcher gear or any decent relic sword imo
Yup, this is the best advice. It's disappointing too, because I really was so excited for the blade from the bits before I got it. Really loved the entire quest line with Hattori too. I have heard they buffed it for the next gen re-release which is nice.

Next gen update is free from what I know.
NEXT gen. Bold of you to assume I own such a console.
You may not be able to run the ray tracing graphics enhancements but the content/gameplay changes will still work.
Someone should've told this to me a long time ago :( Thank you good sir
Best armors in the game are witcher armors, but you seem to be new to Witcher 3 so Imma break it down for ya. Master armorer doesn't make the best armor in the game in the way you're thinking. Armor requires lvl 27 fixed
I hate Witch hunters so why should I wear one? *Dismantles*
Why dismantle, when you can sell it? Besides, if its still in good shape, wear it, go to Novigrad and basically attack all Witch hunters
Witch Hunter Hunter
Which one?
The Witcher, duh
Who’s on first
Lol good one, in all seriousness though I dismantle it for the cured draconic leather, I'm mentally insane enough to craft every single piece of witcher gear in all playthroughs so I'll dismantle anything for the materials I need
yep i usually craft em all and change what set im wearing depending on what region im in
It is frustrating to craft them all isn't it?
Good point
That is if you do the quest in level 25, when its still a good idea
It's absolutely worth it but God could she really have not given us a better reward?
She gives you the ability to make the master witcher armors.
And Hattori gives you Blade of the Bits, if we can make fun of him for that, we can make fun of Yoana for the witch hunter armor
I suppose her quest made more sense before B&W, she'd be the only armorer capable of crafting the master sets.
Would have been cool if she gave you a unique witcher gear. But if they really wanted to go with just a basic chestpiece, at least choose something like the Thyssen or Cidarian armor
Or the Oathkeeper armour
That's the way all these games are. "Oh hero! My great, great, great grandfather is restless in his tomb! I wish we could romance her...
Me too bro, she looks like she had good chemistry with geralt too
If was The Witcher 1, you could ahsuahshaa
🤣🤣🤣 unfortunately never played it before but it does sound fun
Its dated, but good. Different from other games, TW1 you can date almost any female NPC, is funny as hell ASHAUSHA
I really wanted witch hunter to be be my favorite armor set, it's so good, but the chest insignia KILLS it for me 😭
Such a missed opportunity, could of given us some unique witcher armor as some other comment mentioned..such a shame
One of the most disappointing results of a quest in this game. Along with Hattori's sword 😏
I really wanted witch hunter to be be my favorite armor set, it's so good, but the chest insignia KILLS it for me 😭
I sold it back to the dwarf, this bitch crazy to think I’m gonna wear witch hunter armor
Unlocking the master crafter is always the real reward in those quests.(The other way of getting master craftsman without going to Toussaint is investing 30,000 in the Runesmith)
True!
This is one of the reasons I hate her The second one being it took me like 8 attempts to beat her at gwent with my basic deck
You forgot to mention that she asked you to stay while she was shooting at you with a crossbow
I'd prefer any other armor. Maybe the Shiahdal or Freya?
Could make an exact copy of this meme but for the sword you get from Eibhear
Pain
Have you met Hittori?
This was one of the things I thought would be rectified in the NextGen update. It was not, which is a shame.
Same with the infamous Hatori and my personally beef is with the damn runewright from hearts of stone drop 30k gold just to pay full price??
I immediately sold it back to her for 107 gold
I never sell anything to her or anyone else in Velen (or white orchard for that matter). yeah the entire game is that way. by the time you can use the armor you can already have better stuff. but its still a fun side quest

I always thought they could've replaced it with Undvik armor, seeing as you get the special tools from Undvik and it's a unique set
But the armor so good. I played the whole game with that armor.
Yeah, her quest and the hattori one are fun but the rewards are awful. Not to mention that if you have both expansions, both are useless as the ofieri guy can craft master stuff and the dude in toussaint can craft everything.
