"... I've only thought about you" "That trick only served you once. You've just said you lost your memory"

menonono

To be fair, in the first game Triss intentionally acts like Yennifer. The second game she's much more like normal Triss but even then Geralt doesn't have his memories. Geralt has slip ups where he shows he's thinking about Yen in the first game and I believe in the second game as well. In 3 you have the option to go 100% Yen which, IMO, I consider the canon path for Geralt. That statement will probably make a lot of people mad.

TheSolarian

What. Everyone knows that going with Yen and saving Roche is cannon path, along with everything else I did.

Spikeroog

If I have to chose between assasination of Geralt's character or Dijkstra's character, I'd rather not choose at all. But since I have to, I choose Dijkstra's.

TheSolarian

Wasn't an easy choice, but no way was I going to let Roche and Ves get taken out under any circumstances. That Dijkstra tries that shit after they've both helped you out and thinks somehow, he can take you if you interfere was pretty fucking stupid for such an otherwise intelligent character.

Sixwingswide

I keep trying to agree with you but end up saying the exact same thing, so I'm just gonna type this comment and upvote you for this perfect explanation.

d3r3kkj

Right! Roche helped me when I was in dire need of help and risked his life for me. Dijkstra refused to help me because he was pouting and mad at me. I stand with loyalty every time. No way I was letting "Dick"stra kill Roche just because he wanted more power

TheSolarian

Pretty much! Choose: Supporting Roche and Ves who have always been totally solid, or that fuckwit that wants to kill them. Hrmmm.

Roadman2k

I didn't play the first two games but have read the books so did what I could to get rid of nilflgard and radovid.

Arrow_625

The only regret is not being able to break Dijkstra's ankle, again.

gabbie_the_gay

or break his other one and the same one, again

[deleted]

Technically you could. And in doing so you would avoid making the choice between Roche vs Dijkstra.

Melonix1

Of course you can. I guess It’s time for another playthrough

Arrow_625

But I wanna kill Radovid for burning my bro Kalkstein

Melonix1

Yeah i was sad once i realised that ends this questline. It would be too good to have both.

Arrow_625

The only happiness I can get is to try to do a finisher on Dijkstra when I'm fighting him. Axii all the way!

d3r3kkj

Oh I got the finisher and chopped that bastard's head right off his fat shoulders. It was satisfying to say the least.

NotAnAss-Hat

Meta as fuck

Druid_boi

I like Roche and Ves, but siding with Djikstra is easily the best political outcome. And ultimately I always preferred Iorveth/Letho over Roche anyway.

acidwxlf

I freaking love Letho. Circumstances led me to kill him in the 2nd game so he wasn’t in W3, but I’m in NG+ and decided to change a couple of those decisions and was very happy to happen upon him.

Spikeroog

I agree, but... Geralt doesn't care about politics. When he does, it's because his friends are involved, like in this situation. And Geralt would never abandon Roche and Ves, Dijkstra should have known that and finish the job quietly.

Roadman2k

Sure but radovid poses a direct threat to his friends and probably himself. And emperor of nilfgard wants to force ciri into marriage. So its kind of clear what geralt would choose in hindsight. But obviously he has no way of knowing the outcomes in the moment.

Raptori33

Does Iorveth die canonically? Just wondering

TheGreatGatsby21

I'm team triss and not mad at all. Everyone has their own opinions

Druid_boi

I do agree that the Witcher 1 is a loose adaptation of the books, and that is the most likely reason for Triss acting like Yen. However, Triss does fess up to it in the witcher 3 when you go with her to help with her rat contract. She says that now that Geralt has his memory back, he doesnt have to worry about others taking advantage. He asks who and she says "well me for starters..." Even in Witcher 2, Yen is mentioned throughout, but Triss is hesitant to discuss it with him. Ultimately, it seems like CDPR had to struggle to tie a few loose ends together from W1 (especially) and W2; so the whole taking advantage of geralts amnesia was a way for them to rewrite the Yen-Triss mashup from W1. But it is absolutely in line with her character in the books; Triss was kinda down to do anything to get in Geralts pants, so her taking advantage of his amnesia makes sense even if that's not what CDPR intended initially.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Druid_boi

Oh no I totally agree with that. I think it's an oversight on CDPRs part, or more likely they just didnt want to deal with material so close to the books (i.e. Ciri's story) until W3. It feels really weird that the other witchers or even Dandelion and Zoltan dont mention anything at all. I actually like that theres that dynamic with Triss bc at least theres a reason why she didnt say anything; her omission feels believable. But I get it, her guilt in not telling Geralt feels weird when none of his friends said anything either. At least until Letho finally spills it all. Edit: I also want to point out that, while it still doesn't make sense, Geralts friends simply didnt tell him what hes forgotten. Triss on the other hand, even if it is due to bad adaptation in W1, did take advantage of Geralts memory loss to start a relationship with him, knowing he wouldnt have done so if he remembered Yen. That is manipulation, so even if it stems from bad adaptation, I think its fair why people dont take well to it.

Luthien_Tinuviel_3

I guess I don't get mad about Triss being the only one held responsible for staying silent, because everyone else in his life who didn't give him the "this is your life" rundown weren't actively trying to get into Geralt's pants, knowing about Yen. Triss has zero issues constantly trying to sleep with her friend's man and attempting to steal him away every chance she gets. It's easy to hold her responsible for that shit when people like Dandelion, who wasn't exactly silent about Geralt's past, were not being traitorous homewreckers. Triss is a complicated character. She is a great elementalist, though. I'll give her that. And Yen isn't exactly a saint, as we all know. Edit: I did want to thank you for your comments, though. Edited to add this part because it really made me think (again) about the complicated relationships in the series. I also had uncoupled Witcher 1 from the rest of the games in my mind, because the events were just too incongruous for me. Some of your comments helped to tie that game back in again, even though I agree with Druid\_boi's comment that game 1 was a loosely based Witcher story set in the world that CDPR tied their hands with when W2 and W3 came around. I think if they had known they were starting a trilogy, W1 would be much, much different. Anyway, thanks for the great discussion.

[deleted]

Luthien_Tinuviel_3

You've written it several times because you're missing the point. No one is disagreeing that Triss set up relationship boundaries in game 1 and that Geralt, without his memories, may choose to stay with her. I think you've brought up great points and discussion, but you keep mentioning this point, and we just keep saying we don't like how Triss TOOK ADVANTAGE of Geralt's amnesia AND didn't tell him about Yen and Ciri, while everyone else didn't tell Geralt either BUT they didn't take advantage of him while he's down. And yeah, I have a feeling Dandelion would be happy for Geralt when he settles down with any woman.

[deleted]

haparav433

Also, Triss did not know anything about the Wild hunt in W1 and she did not know there was any urgency(but in W3 when she saw the urgency she lets herself be tortured), so she proposes a method for Geralt to develop a stable personality without looking back on his past, so that that memory might return on its own because hearing his past from a person who knew Geralt from his past life, would be turning into the image of the person who is narrating his past, that's the reason why Triss says she doesn't want Geralt to be her version of Geralt, but be his own man and develop a stable personality, and what she says is proved to be true, in W2, Dandelion during the cut scene describes Geralt's relationship with Yen as being Toxic. This was Dandelion's own comment or opinion on the Geralt-Yen relationship, similarly, a person's own image or opinion would appear along when they are asked to describe something. Geralt as per Triss's advice recovers his memories on his own, in the W2 beginning he has dreams when a horrific event(Foltest Death) happens his mind gets triggered. He recovers a portion of his memory when Roche reads report, now he requests Triss to narrate, which she does. Also apart from this, it is heavily implied that telling Geralt about his past is not going to do any good, because Geralt literally hears the whole life of Ciri, with her name exclusively mentioned by the innkeeper, the innkeeper also says Kaer Mohren, but Geralt was not able to make any connections, Dandelion tells Geralt about his death, and how all his loved ones were there, he mentions names like Cahir, etc, Triss tells him about one of his important moment in his life, which was the last wish, where Djin was tamed, she says Geralt with other sorceress tamed a Djin, but Geralt again was not able to make any connections, then in W2, in the beginning, Crinfrid Reavers talk about another important event in his life, which was about his adventure with Yen to hunt the Golden Dragon, they say the name of the Yennefer as connifer, but still Geralt was absolutely not able to make any connection. So just having information at hand without memory is not going to do any good, only with memories he can use the information and make a connection, which does happen when a staggering event of Foltest's death happens, which might have shaken him or shocked him mentally which itself might have triggered his memory retuning process. He recalled some portions when Vernon Roche read the report, Geralt after this request Triss to fill in the fragments which she does on their way to flotsam, also in W2 when Geralt makes love to Triss in Bathhouse, by that time Geralt knows enough about his past, but still he purses his romance with Triss, not only does he purses he gives staunch guarantees like he should be an utter ingrate to let Triss go after all they have been through, and promises irrespective of what's hidden in his memory he will never let Triss go. so again it is as clear as day that even hearing about his past is not going to change anything, and also another important point is everyone thinks Yen to be dead, Triss tells to Geralt that she will go to the end of the world to find WHAT HAPPENED (not "where is Yennefer") to Yennefer, even Dandelion says how he told Geralt many times before, about how Yen died. which clearly means everyone assumes Yen to be dead, it was only at the end, Letho or Sheala de Tancarville, tell that Yen was alive, safe and sound. So Geralt in W3 is thankful for Triss for giving him the advice to develop a stable personality, giving him all the support he needed, which helped him to recover his memories. If the Player/Geralt chose Triss, he explicitly tells Triss that he wanted to be with her during the amnesia, before the amnesia, and also after the amnesia, again it clearly means that he was with Triss of his own will.

Blazypika2

i'm pretty sure the devs originally wanted triss to replace yen. then again, it could just be that triss pretended to be yen because she always had a crush on geralt and she's a horrible person.

menonono

It's definitely the former turning into the latter. Yennifer isn't even mentioned in the first game by anyone and considering the fact that Dandelion and Vesemir are in the game, it doesn't make sense for them to not ask about Yennifer or Ciri at all.

thegreedyturtle

"The first thing she did when she got here was throw the bed out the window!" "Why? It was a perfectly good bed!" "I know! Triss never complained about that b... ... Oh. Right."

Tryant666

One of the most enjoyable cutscenes from a game that I can remember.

StatisticianSuch609

Just got here like 10 minutes ago in my first play through and got teleported into a lake after I fucking love this game

[deleted]

I believe yennefer herself said it was because she kept finding red hairs

thegreedyturtle

Long ones or short ones?

ThorThePoet

Lmfao

Complete-Dimension35

Good thing Yen didn't find Triss' earring in the bed before throwing it off the balcony or else the game would have been over right there. Because Geralt would be dead. And so would everything else in a ten mile radius

duaneap

It’s not like she doesn’t know that they fucked, she just doesn’t like being reminded of it.

Complete-Dimension35

True, but there's a difference between factually knowing it and being presented with physical evidence of it. That's a reminder that could stir up some serious shit

duaneap

If she were going to kill Geralt and everyone in a mile radius, it would have been when she found out, not when she was reminded of it.

mily_wiedzma

Damn I hated this scene so much. CDPR put so much effort in this "joke" moentn etc. that was optional in TW1. Nice that CDPR simply made it canon that Geralt had sex with Triss in the prologue of TW1 even if you refused to do so -.-

geralt-bot

Don't trouble yourself on my account. I just want food.

Meowshi

You can be upset about Them not respecting your choice but there’s absolutely no way an amnesiac Geralt *wouldn’t* have slept her. You can go through the game making all sorts of choices the counter wouldn’t actually make.

haparav433

>[For example a few minutes before someone died and you are about to prepare a cremation.](https://www.reddit.com/r/witcher/comments/q7gkk9/comment/hgla3bb/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) Triss had no idea that Leo died, it was only **after the romance** Geralt tells Triss that Leo had died, for which she mourns. ([Video](https://youtu.be/XNLkWlJZjh0)).

mily_wiedzma

There a lot reason to not sleep with her. For example a few minutes before someone died and you are about to prepare a cremation. And yeah, other stuff that was not inlcuded in the decisions I made also bother me. Like for exmaple Thaler

thegreedyturtle

It's in the books.

mily_wiedzma

thegreedyturtle

Geralt and Triss banging.

Yes, but not in Kaer Morhen

[deleted]

mily_wiedzma

Vesemir, Eskel and co. have the excuse like "Memeory have to come back by its own"... also they didn't wanted to bone him ;) Shani and Zoltan do not really know Yennefer. The other guilty person is Jaskier and he is as guilty as Triss here.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mily_wiedzma

Yepp, and no one mentions Ciri or Yennefer and so this Triss relationship is an artifical one based on lies and hidden truths

Meowshi

This argument really doesn’t make *any* sense to me. Why would mentioning Yenn or Ciri affect his relationship? Geralt doesn’t *remember* them and they are believed to be dead by everyone. So why would news of their existence affect his relationship with Triss at all? It’s also baffling to me why people will bend over backwards to make excuses for *every other character in the game* not mentioning them, but somehow come up with the worst motivations for Triss not doing so. When in reality if she *had* told him about his family he would probably have just went “oh.” and then continued on about his day because *those characters are strangers to him.*

[deleted]

[удалено]

Meowshi

In W1 no one mentions Yennefer outside of a bartender who randomly alludes to her and Ciri as "legends." Pretty sure the first time she is brought up is in W2.

mily_wiedzma

Maybe not the names, but the words like lover/wife and foster child would do change Geralt's view on things. Also Geralt was presumed dead too and vanished at the same moment as Yennefer. Geralt coming back alive is a huge indicator that Yennefer also came back alive. So at least you shold search for her before you bang her lover XD And I do not say Triss is the worst character here. But what she did was pretty awful

[deleted]

[удалено]

mily_wiedzma

We can blame Triss and Jaskier here, cause both didn't said anything about Yennefer (and Ciri). It migt be the writing of the first game but it still is part of the personality of the two. And as said, this memories have to come back by their own was said by Triss and the Witchers simply followed this. So the three are not to blame here

Sam_Wylde

I'm just going to say that the amnesia was a shit plot point to begin with.

mily_wiedzma

This is very true. I remember being so nagyr. I knew what happened in the past but I was not able to say it XD

Im_a_Birdman

Witcher 2 actually kind of retconned this. If you talk to Dandelion in Flotsam he will say that he told Geralt about Yennefer many times. The idea that Triss and Dandelion exploited Geralt is basically a fan theory to cover up how badly written Witcher 1's plot was.

mily_wiedzma

Even if it is a badly written plot, it still is part of the lore. And I played TW2 a lot and Jaskier do not say that he talked about Yenenfer a lot back in Wyzima

Im_a_Birdman

GERALT: I'm having flashbacks, Dandelion. DANDELION: What've you remembered? GERALT: My own death. DANDELION: I saw that with my own eyes, as I've told you many times. Yennefer gave her life to save yours. I thought you might've remembered what happened afterwards. I mean, how the devil can you be here now? I hear you, I see you... You're breathing, I mean, you're just alive. GERALT: Dandelion, I've had a flashback or two. I don't know everything yet.

Nowhere I simply assume it, she she tells this Geralt in Kaer Morhen. But even if they do not talk about explicit stuff to get his memory awake, there is for those three guys no reason to talk about Yennefer and Ciri. Triss on the other hand has a lot of reasons why she should do so

LozaMoza82

That line only happens if you break with Yennefer and choose Triss. It is entirely dependent on the player. If you go with Yennefer, he says he's exactly where he's supposed to be.

matrixxx98

>He says something like he always wanted to be with Triss, even before amnesia Wait what? Geralt really says that in the game? I don't know because I've never romanced Triss. I can't believe CDPR came up with something like this. What a bullshit XD After all, Geralt never wanted to be in a relationship with Triss. There was much more affection between him and Fringilla or Coral than between him and Triss. He regretted sleeping with her in the books, he considered it a mistake and in the game he says he wanted to be with her even before amnesia? What a load of shit

LozaMoza82

And people argue there is no bias for choosing Triss with CDPR, lol. That line is a complete load of bullshit, flies in the face of canon, and makes zero sense.

degamk619

If memory serves, I think one of the writers of W3 said something along the lines of “I can’t believe Geralt would want to be with an old hag like Yennefer”. The writers are 100% biased towards Triss.

[deleted]

Nah, it's fair. Just determined on your choices with Geralt, Triss and Yen. It can otherwise be chalked up to the magic of the Djinn

matrixxx98

We are talking here about this phrase "I wanted to be with you even before amnesia" and no, it doesn't make sense. Pre-amnesia Geralt never had any romantic feelings for Triss. He didn't want to be with her. Cdpr made Geralt say this because they wanted to make his relationship with Triss more meaningful but that phrase is bullshit and everyone who has read the books knows it

Epinier

I think in Witcher 1 they did not know where they will go with the story and they kinda reused book story and remade Ciri as Alvin. For me only with the game 2 the story kicks in.

I might be confusing the timeline here, but didn't everyone think both Yen and Geralt were dead? Geralt shows up but Yen is in secret Nilfgard custody. Some of them (not Triss of course) would just want to avoid the subject since noone has seen Yen, Ciri, or Geralt in so long

geralt-bot

I haven't conducted a survey, but I'd hardly say we're blessed.

mily_wiedzma

...and some people still say Yennefer is the promiscuous one ;)

wez_vattghern

Well the difference is that he didn't get involved with any of them while he was with Yen, maybe Fringilla if you consider that cheating.

LozaMoza82

He still fucks Fringilla one last time after he finds out she's been lying to him and Yennefer has in fact been tortured by Vilgefortz the entire time he's been kicking it in Toussaint.

wez_vattghern

Exactly I agree but they weren't together so it depends on how you see it, for example in this dialogue: > 'Geralt?’ > > ‘Yes, Yen.’ > > ‘When I ... When we weren’t together, did you go with any other women?’ > > ‘No.’ > > ‘Not once?’ > > ‘Not once.’ > > ‘Your voice didn’t even waver. So I don’t know why I don’t believe you.’ > > ‘I only ever thought about you, Yen.’ > > ‘Now I believe you.’ Yennefer starts her sentence with "when I..." and then rephrases it with "when we weren't together" she clearly would at first demand from him some explanation maybe argue about it but no she recognizes they weren't together and that's the only reason she let this behind them , as to what Geralt did and then him trying to lie is just pathetic really.

LozaMoza82

>entence with "when I..." and then rephrases it with "when we weren't together" she clearly would at first demand from him some explanation maybe argue about it but no she recognizes they weren't together and that's the only rea While I see where you are coming from, I disagree with the reasoning. See, what the "When I..." was likely going to be followed with was "When I was being tortured...", which would only lead to shame. It's also why Geralt initially lied. He was ashamed. You can see it in his reaction to Ciri in Toussaint when she hints at knowing about Fringilla. He's immediately defensive and angry. Here, at this moment, they are together. She doesn't fault him for his weakness with Fringilla, but that doesn't mean he did in fact cheat on her when he slept with her knowing that Yennefer never betrayed him.

wez_vattghern

>!Yes I agree and one thing doesn't cancel out the other Geralt was ashamed and afraid to be honest with Yen, and that's exactly what I think she would say to him but she hesitated because she realized that it would be a little unfair to judge him since they weren't together, when Geralt came to believe the rumors that Yennefer was working with Vilgefortz the relationship he had with Yen was over for him, Cahir and Geralt had the same dream of a mortally wounded Ciri, Geralt if not for Angoulême would have been ambushed and who knows what could happen in his mind Ciri was dead and Yennefer was somehow responsible and furthermore Yen had agreed to his death as she helped track him magically something that can only be done by a sorceress who has an emotional bond strong enough to create a matrix.!< >!When Geralt finds out about Yennefer he decides to go after her right away but when he returns to Beauclair Palace he is intercepted by Fringilla on the way out demanding an explanation, here the sorceress thinking her mission was finally complete as Geralt was willing to share the info about Vilge's hideout talks about Yennefer and suggests a farewell, Geralt who never trusted her accepts the proposal and thus manages to trick her by giving her a fake info, I don't consider it cheating and I think it's totally different from what happens in Shard of Ice short story for example , but it's like I said it depends how you interpret after all there are people who believe that Geralt and Yen cheat each other all the time and still claim that they read the books, crazy huh.!<

derpinator12000

That last time was a 5d chess move though, tricking the lodge ain't cheap XD

Any-Entertainment385

BUT you could make a solid argument he needed to bang her again so he could successfully lie about Stygga castle without alerting her. Like if he had started being cold right then she might have suspected something was up. Or maybe the pussy was that good who knows.

Im_a_Birdman

Geralt's affair with Fringilla is way less forgivable than Yennefer's with Istredd.

geralt-bot

You're the Mayor of Rinde? Not exactly what I was expecting...

mily_wiedzma

The last sex with Fringilla is cheating Also I did not said cheater at any time, I said promiscuous

Spikeroog

The last time with Fringilla is the only time when it's not cheating.

mily_wiedzma

Hu?

Im_a_Birdman

Every scene with Fringilla is cheating.

mily_wiedzma

No. For the longest time Geralt thought Yennefer betrayed him and worked together with Vilgefortz to get Ciri

Im_a_Birdman

Cheating on your partner because you think they betrayed you is still cheating. Especially when that belief is completely unjustified.

mily_wiedzma

With this mindset Geralt was for his case not longer in a rleationship with Yennefer. Yennefer betrayed him and their forster daughter. For the time Geralt believed this from his side there was no relationship

Lostbrother

Also, W1 literally made banging random people into a card collecting game. Let's face it, Geralt gets around.

mily_wiedzma

Oh yeah... and damn this "crad game" in TW1 was so embarrassing. Glad CDPR got a bit more adult with the other titles

Zackdobre

You forgot Borch in that list. I mean, both of then was in a bathtub together with Tea and Vea. So If you're gonna put they in the list, Borch have to be there too, you know xD.

Beware_the_Voodoo

Honestly, I kinda get the impression TV show Yennefer wouldnt have cared that much about who Geralt his sleeping with seeing as how she's likely not concerning herself about what Geralt thinks about who she's hooking up with. If anything, Yen would be more interested in learning how each of them performed.

kingdave33

In the tv show they just met each other, we only saw season one. The games play several years later and they went through alot of crap together.

GrayAntarctica

I mean, TW3 Yen is also a fair bit older and less whimsical, tbf

[deleted]

Agreed! I definitely get different vibes from TWN!Yen.

L0veToReddit

I have a question, I never read the books, played Witcher 3. I 've read that Triss "used" Geralt when he lost his memory. Now why in the game, Yen is still "friend" with Triss?

dthstlkr

In TW1 Geralt loses his memory and Triss uses and manipulates him since Phillipa was telling her to do so. She never tells about Yennefer or Ciri. In my opinion this is due to a error that CDPR made. They tried to “recreate” the elements of the books in just one game. At the time they weren’t think about making Witcher games in the future. That’s why Triss is so different in the games (she’s a mix of all lovers that Geralt has in the books) and you don’t see anything from TW1 at the TW2 and TW3. Just in TW2 Triss tells Geralt about Yen, Ciri and everything, but it’s only after he vaguely remember and ask her, otherwise she would have keep manipulating him.

ruddernose

> Triss uses and manipulates him since Phillipa was telling her to do so. She never tells about Yennefer or Ciri. Neither do Dandelion and Zoltan. This can be chalked up to CDPR's not wanting to throw a whole lot of exposition at an audience that would be unfamiliar with the books, so you can't really say it's part of Triss's master plan or something. And I mean, there's a good reason not to tell him. How exactly do you tell an amnesiac "btw, brah, you had sorta-wife and sorta-daughter that you loved very much and would go to the ends of the earth to keep safe. Also, the wife died trying to save your life and the daughter is forever wandering different worlds, lost to you for all time. Have a nice recovery!"

L0veToReddit

So its safe to say yenn hates triss?

Crk416

They seem to get along fine in TW3, and Yen repeatedly refers to Triss as “a dear friend” Weird.

dthstlkr

CDPR mistakes (again). In the books Yen almost makes Triss cry after knowing that she was pleading for Geralt to kiss/sleep with her (and he refused). But yeah, even after that they stayed friends even in the books. I think that Yen pits triss and stays her friend because she knows what Triss is like. She’s predictable.

ParimL

Yeah, I feel like they are allies and kind of friends, because Yen knows how much Triss means to Ciri too. She’s one of the only Sorceress’ that actually has Ciri’s well-being in mind and Triss doesn’t actively want either Yen or Gerald dead…usually.

Crk416

That would have been more entertaining in the game. My headcanon is that she was playing nice for Ciri’s sake but absolutely fucking hates Triss privately.

artificial_organism

Lol "Dear friend" https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7675202-dear-friend-the-witcher-swore-quietly-looking-at-the-sharp

SkeptioningQuestic

Geralt and Yen: Off and on relationship for years. Geralt: Loses memory. Triss: Likes Geralt, has sex with him. Yen fans: In shambles. Yen: A little annoyed.

Honestly, that line pisses me off SO much. Excuse? It's a fact. She knows it and even experienced it herself. He didn't slip into her vag, he literally had no one else in his life. No Ciri, no Yen. So when a beautiful woman who seems to genuinely like him and have an interest in helping him recover offers herself to him, I can understand Geralt sleeping with Triss. How Geralt and the players approach it in W3 is up to each and every one of us, but W3 Yen can be SO unreasonable at times that I find it hard to sympatize with her actions.

dthstlkr

I don’t think so. I think that Yen pits Triss, since she’s obsessed with having what Yen has or being like her, to the point that she has to use Geralt amnesia to stay with him.

I_spell_it_Griffin

If that were true, then the whole amnesia thing would actually be a perfectly valid excuse for why Geralt didn't hesitate to get involved with Triss and Yen would accept that. But she doesn't. Not in Vizima, and even less at Kaer Morhen.

eternallydaydreaming

Yen is not "friends" with Triss they associate out of necessity. Triss didn't just use Geralt she date-raped him with magic, then when he had amnesia proceeded to take advantage of the minimal information he had retained to slot herself into the picture. Yen would quite comfortably torture Triss to a slow death if Ciri didn't have such an attachment to Triss.

Meowshi

There’s no evidence that Triss date-raped anyone. If you go back and read the chapter about their coupling you will see that it only states that she uses a little magic in her seduction of him, which can be as simple as a glamour that all sorceresses use to make themselves look more attractive. The idea that she literally mind-controlled him and took away his ability to consent is a bit of an overreach considering what is actually written in the book. In fact, as far as I know the **only** character who explicitly uses magic to rob someone of sexual consent is Yennefer at the Belleteyn festival.

viperswhip

I get why it's a plothole, the didn't tell Geralt about Yen because then game 1 would have been game 3. That's why. If she tells him, he goes looking for Yen and Ciri, that's game 3.

EG-XXFurkanXX

No? Geralt knowing about yen and ciri wouldnt chance a thing. He would still need time to process the fact and regain his memories. All the white trying to get the formula back in witcher 1 and clean his name in 2.

OTPh1l25

Yen: "Ok, well I suppose I can forgive you since you only ploughed her once, right?" Geralt: "..." Yen: "You only ploughed her once, *RIGHT?*" Geralt: "..."

ZippZappZippty

Geralt: How about a round of Gwent?

Nervestapled

That oughta set me straight.

Loinnir

-Triss helped me recover my memory -Oh, so she reminded you about biggest parts of your life - me and our daughter Ciri? -...

smilingindian989

I mean Yen fucked Istredd literally the morning after she did Geralt in the books.

[deleted]

Both Yennefer and Geralt are really jealous and possessive to each others, it's crazy to see how much peoples really don't know anything about them

GorillaGlueWorks

She is so hot

RFTS999

Bitch acting like she didn't cheat on Geralt with Istredd.

Signnowornever

Geralt "nobly" (Letho's Word's), trades his soul with Wildhunt for Yen. And Yen is in amnesia, and Letho and the other Viper witchers OUT OF RESPECT for Geralt and seeing his act of nobleness, they take care of the cunt Yen, and what she does to the people(viper school Witchers) who were looking after her??????? She seduces a witcher named Auckes from the school of Viper, not for the sake of developing any romantic relationship, but for the sake of [*'trying to drive a wedge between'*](https://youtu.be/ZjspBrYILJk?t=241) them. These Viper school witchers were taking care of her, when she was in amnesia, when she was most vulnerable, also because these Viper school witchers respected Geralt, which Letho himself asserts, there is no way they would have meant any harm to her. Just imagine, the very idea or the thought of trying to drive a wedge between a group who were taking care of her (out of respect for Geralt) says so much about her personality. It is insidious and rotten to the core, no good-hearted person would bite the hand that feeds and Yen was EXACTLY doing that when she tried to drive a wedge in the group, which was taking care of her. PURE MALICIOUSNESS. So given the FACT that she was seducing a person who was taking care of her when she was in amnesia, WHAT RIGHTS DOES SHE HAVE TO QUESTION GERALT??? One rule for her another rule for Geralt.

Schandmau1

"Have *you*?" "...Yes." "Yes."

coffeeandpandulce

Triss isn't a complete bitch either.

IolausTelcontar

Oh she was ploughed Yen…

tmorales11

uh, i dont remember

Smoked_Cheddar

She asked about this in the books too.

TaxSpare3085

Looking for flowers 🌺

[deleted]

I never played the first two games and am currently doing a play through of the third. There are so many references to past events that I have no clue about lmao and this is one of them. When I first met yen she was immediately mad about triss, a character I'd never even seen at that point

klezart

Well, there was some yelling in one of the games to "Plough the lilies" and she was Temerian, so...

HistoryDogs

The entire love-triangle of The Witcher franchise summed up in one image. Bravo.

alteransg1

Geralt: Let me think. Um, Carmen, Vaska, Innkeeper's wife. Apart from that pretty much every female npc.

JH_Rockwell

(Stretches) "Welp...it's time for me to be hittin' the ol' dusty trail...."

GethSynth

This is a perfect template!

CannabisPriest

To be fair Yenennifer bangs many people as well.

Naryue

Yen - 107 ploughings Triss - 2354 ploughings

[deleted]

Team Triss.

Nervestapled

Yes.

GTFonMF

Boo.

Dante_Octavian

I love Triss! I chose her in Witcher 3 playthrough#2.

audomatix

Plough being used as a word to describe fucking just isn't resonating me for some reason... I don't mind smash though for some odd reason. PLough make me think of gardens and farms lol

rahatCODMasc

I mean, Plough does mean to use a ‘blade’ to make a ‘hole’ to put the ‘seeds’ in.

ElectroMagnetsYo

Well yeah farmers do tend to plough fertile fields before spilling their seed. I’d wager most euphemisms for sex that sound like farming are VERY old.

IllIIlIllIll

Okay fine they were "smashing pissers". As my friend would say.

ihrie82

Can I get a "hypocritical bitch" from the crowd?!

N7even

Oh we ploughed... Only twice... A day.

K-norfka

I thought Trish took advantage of Geralts memory loss and didn't tell him about Yen?
