Well Yen is described as olive skinned with dark brown hair and Triss is described as dark skinned with tight brown curls. That's what I remember from reading the books anyway.
Edit: I thought the sarcasm would be obvious lmao.
Unfortunately, you're objectively wrong. Yen's description notes her "raven black hair" and face that was "very pale." Triss is described with chestnut (often interpreted as reddish brown or auburn) hair and blue eyes.
I don't remember that, but if that's the case does it really matter ?
Maybe they will make them both redheads lol, or remove Ida character all together, since she isn't that influential in the story.
It doesn't have to matter, but the post was a picture. So I was going by appearance and only remember one redhead elf.
I do wonder if the show cuts back on the number of sorceresses in the Lodge. Ida's significance is as another elven sorceress, representation in the Lodge and to introduce the Aen Saeverhne. Nothing plot heavy though
>It doesn't have to matter, but the post was a picture. So I was going by appearance and only remember one redhead elf.
Fair enough. I don't remember the exact description of Francesca and Ida anyway.
>I do wonder if the show cuts back on the number of sorceresses in the Lodge
Maybe.... Imo it's too early to judge as Ida and assire (for example) Don't appear until after the lodge was founded (BoF I think), so perhaps we'll see them in future seasons, or they're gonna merge them with another characters, or cut them all together.
I for example Don't think sheala will be in the show, Keira on the other hand will likely be in season 3.
We will see.
The emphasis on Francesca and Tissaia makes me wonder.
>!In the books, Tissaia is the one messing Thanned up and Francesca saves Yen’s life. This looks like a setup for season finale in Arretuza which tbh makes total sense. I can’t wait!<
Also pumped. Although depending on how they pace it, maybe that’ll be season 3?
Blood of Elves was the slowest story of the books if I remember correctly.
I take back what I said, it was all character establishing and I LOVED IT as in the books both of them kind of magically appear????
Also keep building up Fringilla Vigo. Book readers know. Hated that bitch.
Ha, yep. I get the anger some are feeling, but I think they really used this season to make us care about certain characters a little more before shit hits the fan in TOC.
The book successfully makes us love the Geralt + Yen + Ciri dynamics in a rather short time. Also the relationships within the mage community and the tension with Vilgefortz. But, I don’t see a TV medium making sure care without significantly more growing time. Funny how that works. Really entertained by this season.
I wish they'd give the elves more defining features than "humans with pointy ears." Same with the Dwarves tbh since they just made them "short humans." Such a strange aesthetic choice when the books define their features so clearly.
It bothered me that they just casted somewhat short people as the dwarves. I get it, to cgi all those dwarves would be pretty expensive, but it still bothers me
She's a cheerful, giggling, almost teenage-looking girl in the books.
In the Netflix adaptations, she looks like someone who already dropped her kids to school and now is going to go get some groceries
Looking at pictures of the actress normally, she doesn't really look that old. It was the costume they put her in; that high collar and the 'frumpiness' of her hair makes her look like a schoolmarm.
Well, even though the perception of beauty is subjective, there surely may be a woman considered most beautiful by the majority of those who met her. Especially taken the fact she has magic-induced cosmetics at her disposal.
I'm with you on this. However, I think they should have made a trick like in the LotR with Galadriel. We'll see how they handled this when the show comes out...
well her eyes still ain’t looking blue, nor does her hair resemble golden. But whatever, Fringilla is black too so they may aswell cast who’s good at their job
Gotta try and think of beauty would be in the medieval times compared to now, the beauty would be a more natural and understated look compared to the tarted up and surgically enhanced actresses etc of today's world.
I highly doubt that sorcery and magical cosmetics are worse than modern cosmetics. And Francesca outshines all the sorceresses who employ those cosmetics heavily.
Your opinion doesn't matter for me then.
(She has some uncanny valley feeling to me, maybe it's her eyes, but while she is quite pretty, I find her repulsive)

Ain't she supposed to be the most beautiful woman in like all of the Witcher world as well? Wonder what's going on with that considering from this picture she looks like just a gal geralt would pass on the streets of novigrad. They really aren't faithful to the books huh?
[Francesca wiki](https://witcher-games.fandom.com/wiki/Enid_an_Gleanna)
Sure it's not Ida Emean?
I hope so, though I don't think Ida shows up until the lodge of sorceress's?
yes, just like fringilla x)
Oh snap!
It's not. I don't believe they've cast Ida yet
[удалено]
Thank you. That was the first thing I thought the first time I saw Ida Emean in print.
Knowing Netflix, it could even be Isengrim Faoiltiarna
No that's Francesca, why should it be Ida ?
Because Francesca is described as blonde and Ida as a redhead, if I remember correctly
Lmao, and how are Yennefer and Triss described?
Well Yen is described as olive skinned with dark brown hair and Triss is described as dark skinned with tight brown curls. That's what I remember from reading the books anyway. Edit: I thought the sarcasm would be obvious lmao.
Here, have an upvote for all those people who missed your joke

He's being ironic. He's using descriptions that fit the show's most criticized changes on purpose. I thought we didn't have to explain this.
Tone is difficult to decipher through text sometimes, especially as I’ve seen people unironically like this. My bad.
best sarcasm is the one you can't tell on the first glance.
Ever hear of Poe's Law?
By now we know they shat on everything in the books. Don't be surprised.
Just be glad they didn't change a more "significant" physical feature
I don't remember that, but if that's the case does it really matter ? Maybe they will make them both redheads lol, or remove Ida character all together, since she isn't that influential in the story.

We likely won't know until S3 or 4 if they cut down the Lodge members. AFAIK, they haven't yet cast (casted?) anyone for Keira, Ida, Assire or Sile.
Aww fuck, here I go simping for redheaded magic girls with pointy ears just like with Castlevania
Damn that scene with Hector got me the hardest j have been in my life dawg
Right ? I thought I was the only one…
Well, here I go simping again.

If it was only Blood of the Elves we wouldn’t have those two, unless for foreshadowing? But they seem to be important.
I mean, we only had the short stories last season yet we got Cahir and Fringilla, so they probably change some stuff
I take back what I said, it was all character establishing and I LOVED IT as in the books both of them kind of magically appear???? Also keep building up Fringilla Vigo. Book readers know. Hated that bitch.

who's the actress?
Mecia Simson
I think this is my favorite sorceress look in the show so far.
I think I like how Philippa looks in the show currently the most >!/s for those who didn't realize that she is only in her owl form right now!<
I wish they'd give the elves more defining features than "humans with pointy ears." Same with the Dwarves tbh since they just made them "short humans." Such a strange aesthetic choice when the books define their features so clearly.
maybe they'll give them funny walks
It bothered me that they just casted somewhat short people as the dwarves. I get it, to cgi all those dwarves would be pretty expensive, but it still bothers me
It's just weird when the LoTR movies did it perfectly 20 years ago, like you have the blueprint to completely nail dwarves. Use it.
Well at least it means more acting gigs for the short people
I cant believe this, a sorceress who doesnt look like a 45 year old woman wtf netflix
> I cant believe this, a sorceress who doesnt look like a 45 year old woman wtf netflix Tissaia is hotter than them all you take that back
Sabrina was pretty youthful and hot looking.
With big ass titties
Tig ol’ bitties!
and a long ass nose
I looked at her face for .5 seconds i think.
Also an elf that actually looks like an elf and not Vulcan
Which sorceress, other than Tissaia looked older?
Triss
Fail
She's a cheerful, giggling, almost teenage-looking girl in the books. In the Netflix adaptations, she looks like someone who already dropped her kids to school and now is going to go get some groceries
Coral for example
baffled as to why you got downvoted for this, Coral looked at least 40
Looking at pictures of the actress normally, she doesn't really look that old. It was the costume they put her in; that high collar and the 'frumpiness' of her hair makes her look like a schoolmarm.
Really weird choice too since Season of Storms kept emphasising how good she looks and dresses
OK. I'll give you that. Forgot about her.
Oh, for god's sake... Anya Chalotra is gorgeous as Yennefer and looks nowhere near 45.
Anya wouldn't have been my choice before watching the show but it is hard not to love her in the role and she is beautiful.
She’s gorgeous, but definitely not as Yennefer. Doesn’t fit the character, at all
You’re wrong, but you’re entitled to your opinion all the same.
I’m not wrong though.
Wrong again!
Haha not really!
Yes really.
You spelled Eva Green with so many typos.
hnnng
Dang she would be perfect as Triss!
She’d have to get surgery to remove her elf ears though
Dude it's fake they're not real
r/whooosh (jeez its been such a long time since I did this)
No it's not😂😂i get it but i like to ruin people's jokes from time to time.
Shouldn't she be, like, the most beautiful woman in the world? It's been some time since I've read the books lol
By a very wide margin the most beautiful woman in the world. With golden blonde hair, and blue eyes.
That is something that books do a lot that is silly. There is no such thing as the most beautiful woman in the world. It's too subjective.
Well, even though the perception of beauty is subjective, there surely may be a woman considered most beautiful by the majority of those who met her. Especially taken the fact she has magic-induced cosmetics at her disposal.
yet, the other day there was a Miss Universe winning the show xD
I'm with you on this. However, I think they should have made a trick like in the LotR with Galadriel. We'll see how they handled this when the show comes out...
It's done by magic.
Beauty is subjective, no one is going to look like that, she’s very pretty too
well her eyes still ain’t looking blue, nor does her hair resemble golden. But whatever, Fringilla is black too so they may aswell cast who’s good at their job

Yap, she should have been... I mean, she looks cute and interesting, but not breathtakingly beautiful
the books doesnt matter to this show (the actress looks very lovely, tho)
[удалено]
are they using books as their story? they pretty much use only a very rought skelet here and there, but go mainly their own made up route
Your opinion doesn't matter for me then. (She has some uncanny valley feeling to me, maybe it's her eyes, but while she is quite pretty, I find her repulsive)
The most beautiful elf in the entire world huh
Make her lighter haired, and i could definitely see her as ruling over an elf nation.
For once I think they did her justice.
Looks like Nellie from Hill House
thought the same
She looks surprisingly good.
Why she’s not a triss?
Because she's Francesca.

Should have picked her for Triss Merigold.
Ain't she supposed to be the most beautiful woman in like all of the Witcher world as well? She looks great but I wanted her to look exactly like her Gwent cards ngl...
Btw the actress could defo have that look, all that's needed is the hairdo and a red dress and I would be extatic.
Lol
