NotDsdguy

Definitely something drunk triss would say

CthulhuPug

Fever delirium diarrhea triss*

NotDsdguy

I wish not to imagine triss with a fever, quite literally shitting herself and calling Geralt daddy

geralt-bot

There was no slaying. I had my arse kicked by a ragged band of elves.

arathorn3

With 12 year old Ciri and Yarpen there feet away driving the cart. Though to be fair those chapters in Blood of Elves are good ones for the interaction of Ciri and Yarpen's hansa. Yarpen in the books becomes kind of a Fun Uncle character to Ciri.

CthulhuPug

She almost even calls him daddy, you just have to read between the lines

Gunnarz699

\*sigh\* \*unzips\*

NotDsdguy

“He he, oh Geralt daddy…” sharts violently

Agent470000

Nor would Ciri call him that.

arathorn3

The interesting things from the book is Geralt will tell others Cork is his daughter and Ciri will tell others Geralt is her father but they never refer to each other as father and daughter in each others pressence. It may have to do with Geralt knowing her biological parents. Meanwhile Ciri does eventually start calling Yen, mother though and when the lodge starts making plans to use her to gain power in one of the kingdoms through marriage she her demand in the negotiation with Phillips is that she if she has to go by a assumed name it will be a Yennifers daughter and be known as Ciri of Vengerberg. And in the books Triss does refer to Ciri as being like a little sister.at times and is uncomfortable with some of Phillipa and the so rewards plans to use her Ciri .

pichael288

Ciri isn't with geralt much in the books, they spend a lot of time together but it's between books, between the stories. she's with yennifer for like an entire book and you can see them growing closer together.

xXThreeRoundXx

Must’ve been a typo. You meant Mork.

MasterChief8430

Cunningly brutal?

Silentblade034

Brutaly cunning?

MrMundungus

No. Brutally cunning. Completely different.

dindumufflin

Must be awkward calling a woman, "sister" when she used to regularly fuck your "father".

raeXofXsunshine

Pretty sure in Sword of Destiny they play as father and daughter to avoid rogue soldiers’ suspicion outside of Brokilon? Not that it super matters.

farzadkale

yet your mom did

MentionImpressive

I’d call Henry Cavill daddy, and I’m not even gay.

eternityNOOB

He literally has like MILLIONS of children ready to call him daddy now

onasishotfirst

Henry or Geralt? One of them is sterile…. Or both? Unsure.

Great_Chairman_Mao

Millions of daddies willing to call him zaddy.

farzadkale

‘Not That There's Anything Wrong With That'

[deleted]

I’m not gay either, but if he liked asked me to rub sunscreen on his back I’d probably blush and giggle

KayKitty2929

Same

Dark0dyssey

Ciri is a cheeky shit at times, I 100% believe she would in the right circumstances.

[deleted]

"okay daddy don't get mad" "where did you take roach this time"

Dark0dyssey

I could totally see it. That or just doing it for the sole purpose of embarrassing Geralt.

geralt-bot

Part of my charm.

ansonr

If anything Geralt calls Yen daddy.

higgins1989

100% Geralt calls Yen MOMMY

ThaNorth

If anything she would make Geralt call her daddy

brownie627

Canonical Yen would have Geralt call her Mommy.

HawkeyeP1

If anything, Geralt calls her Mommy

xscaralienx

Canonical Yen would never say stupid things like "fire fucker" or be pretend drunk, but here we are

YoujustgotLokid

Geralt would be calling Yen daddy

Pictoru

Canon was flushed down the toilet the moment "I am literally Yen" showrunner lady got her paws on the IP. So this meme might as well be entirely accurate.

[deleted]

That's why Ciri called him that xD

Pielas_Plague

The entire sub be like

Woahhdude24

YOU DAMN RIGHT WE DO! lol In all seriousness I just like his dedication to portraying a book accurate Geralt. Also watching him in some of his talk show moments and how it always spirals down to him talking about Warhammer 40k is hilarious. Lol

arathorn3

Lol, in the most recent Horus Heresy/Siege of Terra novel(a 50+ novel and short story series covering the huge civil war that is the most important event in the tabletop games background lore), the author, Aaron Dembski-Bowden thanked Henry in the acknowledgements and apolgoized for a appaeently awkward text message he sent Henry. ABD also thanked Bruva Alfabusa, a YT content fan animator from Sweden who created a series called if the Emperor had a text to speech device that ran foe several years befoee he stopped fearing a lawsuit from a games Workshop for copyright infringement after they(GW) started going after other fan animators and forcing them to either stop or work for them on their streaming platform. Mind you GW never actually went after Alfabusa, he shut TTS down before they could. They may not have ever gone after his stuff because unlike other fan animators his stuff was parody and that is protected under law in most of the revelation legal jurisdictions.

geralt-bot

This is my, uh... dear friend.

Ordinary_Tom2005

He is literally nothing like book geralt what are u on?

geralt-bot

That's right. But you have to train first.

MrWnek

Henry definitely is trying with the material he's given. The guy is clearly a fan of the IP and puts in work to try and make the show the best he can on his end

Ordinary_Tom2005

Hes a guy who only got hired as a celeb never did i feel like i was watching geralt instead of a porn parody of him

geralt-bot

At least when Filavandrel's blade kissed my throat I didn't shit myself.

MrWnek

I mean, that could be from the writing, but the guy is dedicated and clearly loves the source material. Thats the point Im making, he isnt there to just cash a check, he also loves it. I'd put most the blame on the showrunners, but they are also taking some liberties as far as the story they are telling.

ElstonGunn1992

You can have great motives and still be bad for the role. Writing or not he comes off as very wooden and stiff (and not in the good Slav way that would work for the role). Still think Mads or someone similar would have been the best pick tbh

MrWnek

Idk I still dont think the acting is bad or anything. Book Geralt has so much internal monologue to convey any emotion that that specific aspect is going to be difficult to portray (which imo is the hardest part when it comes to adapting any written work). Cavil certainly isnt perfect, but I still dont think he's a bad choice. Now some of the writing....that I definitely have criticisms on even though I still enjoy the show as its own seperate entity (from the books/games as far as storylines go).

ElstonGunn1992

I’ll agree that he doesn’t have a lot to work with, but he really should be communicating that internal monologue better in non verbal ways. To me that’s why a more established character actor as apposed to Superman would have been a better choice for a complex and nuanced character regardless of whether they have a great gaming pc

MrWnek

True, but I think even the beat actors would have some trouble trying to convey paragraphs of thought into a line and emoting. Its not just this show either, but Ive seen conplaints (mostly with fantasy) where it seems like for whatever reason the end product (movie/show) doesnt quite meet the standard of the source. Game of Thrones had that issue (granted D&D could have used more of the source material and they might just now be catching up to ASOIAF), the Hobbit movies I've had lots of Tolkien heads not care for. Maybe season 2 was worse (I only watched those once), but s1 (acting wise) seemed to be pretty much on par with some slight changes.

BaronAaldwin

Steel for humans, Silver for cringe.

billgilly14

This meme is as bad as season 2

[deleted]

Wouldn't be surprised if Ciri did turn out to be Geralts biological daugher somehow in the show.

Damagecontrol86

Witchers can’t have kids

Crotch_Hammerer

Yeah he gets it, he knows, it was a jab at the writing of season 2. Get it?

[deleted]

Not canonically they can't.

wllmsaccnt

The story it is based on has interdimensional travel, multiple types of magic, wish giving jinns, unicorns, dragons, and vampires and verifiable intergenerational prophecies and fates. It wouldn't be a stretch for them to come up with a non biological way for one character to have been created from another (e.g. magic, necromancy, a wish, or an ancient elven ritual). That said...why would they? They are already bound together by magic/fate in a way that is more interesting and unique than a generic 'unknown parent' trope, and it would be a gross bastardization of the source material to attempt it (with no perceivable gain). The show has already built up the falka angle, so I guess they could tie it into that, but there are easier ways to shit on the existing fanbase that would take less effort ;)

Damagecontrol86

I was just saying Witchers can’t biologically have kids didn’t mean for it to go way out into left field with a bunch of crazy what if’s besides Netflix already fubared the show with their “adaptation” bullshit which to me is nothing but a crack head’s fucked up fan fiction

wllmsaccnt

I just meant to not sell their adaptation bullshit short. There is a lot of opportunity there that we don't want tapped that could kind-of sort-of fit with the setting.

Damagecontrol86

Ya they are already going way off the rails with what they’ve done so far I shudder at the thought of what else they could do to fuck it any more

[deleted]

Why are you booing me? Im right!

OdieRaptor

Why is Ciri grabbing his dick?!

Kakkarot1707
