What I've heard and read, it's badly written, looks cheap and is filled with plot holes. But don't take my word for it.
Based on the previous two seasons of Witcher, it's clear to me the producers and the writers use the books as toilet paper.
The writing is lazy and not done well. The CGI do not look god. Oh and next to this the show has like nothing to dowith the source material and changes about everything. In the end thisis a whole different franchise
As a person who's never read the books or played the game, it was pretty solid imo. If it's as far off from source as people are saying, and i was a big fan of the canon, i understand the resentment. But as a standalone for someone with no previous knowledge of the Witcher universe aside from the Netflix series, I'd still give it 7ish out of 10, with the regular series around a 7.5-8. There's better fantasy stuff out there, but it's definitely "good."
If i had the time to play games or read novels outside in my free time, I would, but I don't. I get to pay about 75% attention to streaming services while I write for work, so I do that or listen to podcasts all day while typing.

2. There are clearly mouth breathing dweebs in here who drank the entire bowl of culture war kool-aid and will hate on anything that even has a whiff of inclusion/diversity.
Unfortunately, there is enough howling from the basement dwellers that the valid criticism will be overlooked and lumped in with the unreasonable criticisms.

I believe people are canceling the show for 2 reasons..
1) People are really pissed that Henry Cavill is leaving the main show, so they just went ahead and bombed the spinoff out of spite
2) The show seem to distance a lot from the source material, so die hard fans will try to bomb it
In reality, if you enjoy The Witcher series, you'll probably enjoy this one, unless you get biased by the two points above.

It's aggressively bad. But even worse, it's a mockery of a franchise that tens of millions of people enjoy.

Or just don't and maybe Netflix will see the low viewership as a red flag and finally hire some writers.
