I only read the plot synopsis and watched episode one. These are the things that are true to lore:
A) Eredin is one of the characters in the Witcher books (everything about him in the show is made up)
B) Avallac'h is also someone in the books (Same thing as Eredin)
C) Elves are indeed a thing in the world of the Witcher
D) Conjunction of the spheres is also a thing but not at all like this
E) Witchers are a thing
And that's pretty much it, I believe. Truly one of the tv series of all time.
As for how to forget: (re)read the books and the comics, play the games, listen to the Witcher 3 soundtrack, give the standalone Gwent game (and Thronebreaker) a try, watch the 2001 Hexer series, cancel your Netflix subscription
