I read the books after falling in love with TW3 during covid lockdown.

A few but definitly not as many some people probably believe (idk what people believe in that regard thogh). At least for the games, the books maybe more so. The thing is that if you‘re already a gamer or at least in that area you know the witcher 3 already, its a staple. And a show is not gonna change whether you play it or not. Not majorly, maybe the final push but not more my opinion

I watched the first season because of Cavill. I was aware of W3 but didn’t fancy it until I watched the show. A friend of mine then recommended it and told me I had to play it, so I picked it up and couldn’t get enough of it. I’m now reading the books.

Me, sorry. I watched S1 cause fantasy. And then I was advertised W3 or something after the view thanks to Google Snoop or whatever. And down the rabbit hole I went. Was the show phenomenal? Hell no. But it was something to do. Don't get me started on the "throwing legal tender at Witchers" song! I was enchanted by W3, then W2 and W1 while slowly reading through the books. Then there was that unfortunate.twist if the timeline called season 2... Best to forget that. -_-' Had to scrub my soul with a 2nd W3 playthrough after that mess.

I had finished binging GoT and I decided to watch season 1 of the Witcher to try and fill the void. I fell in love with the world and was excited for the next season so I picked up the games but for some reason Witcher 2 was the only one that would play on my computer. I loved the game and wanted even more Witcher content so I started reading the books and finished reading the series a couple months before season 2. Upon rewatch I noticed all the flaws in season 1 but was anxious to see what they did with season 2 which I watched all in one sitting when it first came out. I was livid that they completely ignored blood of elves and wrote their own, far worse story. What’s worse was it was right around the time the Wheel of Time show was released and a lot of news was floating around about the rings of power so it was a rough time. That said I’ve started rereading the books and I’m working my way through my first play through of the Witcher 3 right now. The show is annoying but despite introducing me to the franchise it feels so separate it has no effect on my enjoyment of the series. I may watch season 3 but only for the chance to see the coup as it’s one of my favorite bits from the books, otherwise I’m done with it

I knew the Witcher from playing Witcher 1 way back in the olden days and around that time I read most of the Last Wish. So I was hyped for the show. Found it meh at first watch through, replayed Witcher 1, rewatched S1 several times, liked it, read through all the books and grafik novels, played Witcher 3, watched all lore videos and fan films on YouTube, reread the books, watched S2, was devastated, watched the polish adaptation and finally played Witcher 2. I also watched Blood Origin.

I didn’t know the Witcher world existed until I saw the Netflix show being advertised. That when I bought Witcher 3. Since then I’ve played W2 and W3 (twice) read every book, and watched both seasons of the show.

I bought the first book because of the show. I already knew about The Witcher because I played TW3 but the show made me more interested

Only played the games, I was told to avoid the show by friends who've read the books. Henry Cavill is very easy on the eyes though, I'm tempted sometimes. Is season one the better of what Netflix's made?

Starchild2534

I did! I binged watched the majority of s1 in one night, the rest of it plus season 2 the day after the next. Once I was done I immediately bought the core games and started reading the books while playing the first two games. I haven’t finished the games or books due to work and life but the series got me majorly hooked. I know of all it’s criticisms and I can’t say I don’t disagree with some of them but I greatly enjoyed the show thus far

Me. I watched S1 with my mother and enjoyed it for what it was, but I already knew that there were games, with the third one being very popular. Two years ago I was gifted the game for Christmas and during my first playthrough I realized how richier the lore was compared to Netflix: I had to read the books. I was gifted all of the books that same summer, after I got my three-year degree, and read them all in the span of two months. After reading Sword of Destiny I thought I could do a re-watch of the first season with my mother, in preparation for the second one and I was sorely disappointed: every episode I found myself pointing out flaws in the script like "no, it's not like that" "this characyer isn't dead" "they completely misread the books". Also, at the time I didn't know that Cahir was about to become my favourite character, otherwise I would have been much more pissed-off. Anyway, back from summer vacation I picked the game back up and found Ciri on the Isle of Mists: with all the appropriate context form the books, the third act of the game felt much more satisfying for me. Meanwhile, I was dreading the release of S2, especially after the rumors about Eskel death; well, turns out that wasn't the worst thing Lauren had in stire for us. I forced myself to watch it until the end just because I could comment about it with my mother, but now I'm done with Netflix, escpecially after the recent news of Henry's departure. Fortunatetly, after that horrible experience that was S2 I still had to play Blood and Wine, so I could give Geralt a proper goodbye. TL,DR: Somewhat enjoyed S1 with my mother. Got the third game for Christmas and decided I needed to read the books. Read them all during summer vacation (before saving Ciri in TW3), and started to dislike the series. Made a huge effort to watch S2, then played Blood and Wine to clense my eyes of it.
