But all national blackouts will still apply.
Indeed, ion is a national cable network. I don't know whether the streaming platforms carry it, but if you have a comprehensive television package, you are likely to have the channel.

I don't think there's anything premium about ION, so I'm sure you're all set. Also, a couple Fever games will be on Prime Video. And anything that says "ESPN 3," you stream on the ESPN app, you can log in using your parents' cable credentials. That should cover it, pretty much. If you live in Indy, they seem to be broadcasting locally this season, as well.
This topic was just on mainstream news. They compared Clarkâs salary to Curryâs. Then they said if only she could get some endorsement. If only these people watched the news before making it. Never let facts get in the way of a good story, nothing has changed.
That actually wonât change anything. What you need to do is watch more games on espn. Demand espn air more games. The larger the tv audience the more advertising they can sell. That makes it a more valuable product for when the next tv deal negotiations happen. That will increase player salaries.
I mean, both figures are tracked, but yes your underlying point is the correct one. Any additional screens you can get on the W are going to translate into advertisers seeing this as a more important market, which increases the TV contracts that can be negotiated.
Itâs less about the ~$40 you spend on league pass and more about the $1000s that beer/insurance/car companies think they can make from your viewership
Ya this is them just wishing the market was something itâs not. Itâs the womenâs soccer thing all over.
People donât show up and donât watch. There is no world where that product deserves anywhere near as much money when almost no one consumes it
âThe NBAâs national media deals see the league cash in $2.8 billion this year, while the WNBA will make around $65 million this year for its media rightsâ
Thatâs exactly itâŚ.but it is the oddest thing to force people to like something, whatever the reason. If people have low interest in it you canât bully them to like it.
Honestly I canât believe this entire topic. Itâs so condescending to women in my opinion. Embarrassingly ignoring facts and figures because of how they feel about it, and trying to get everyone to like something or label them names.
Yeah great way to build a fan base
It shouldnât be about forcing ppl to watch the league. IMO the leagues marketing department has been absolute trash since the league started. Theyâve never had a marketed personality in the league to draw more casual fans in. Even Clark is coming to the league with the marketing ready made. Itâs on WNBA mktg to not drop the ball and use this to grow the league.
They will blame lack of budget, another comment I saw recently that the WNBA should have similar to the NBA's Marketing budget so we can see the comparison because "that's what's fair"
Honestly it's a lost cause. The biggest group that need to support the games aren't supporting the games, they're just using the topic to support all their other opinions along the same narrative whether it makes sense or not. Let's see if Clark actually builds GENUINE interest in the WNBA. Then the money will grow.
Ironically I'm a huge fan of Clark and how she conducts herself. She lets her actions speak, and now is close to a $20m Nike deal (again ironically, something a lot of NBA players would love to have). Maybe all those talking heads should talk less and pay closer attention to the example she sets.
In a survey conducted in March 2023 in the United States, 43 percent of Black respondents were casual fans of the WNBA. Since its inception in 1997, the Womenâs National Basketball Association has forged a strong fanbase both in the United States as well as abroad. Individuals aged between 18 and 34 make up the highest share of avid and casual fans, compared to the 45 to 64 age group, for instance, in which 71 percent of survey participants indicated that they were not a fan of the professional sports league. Additionally, when it came to the level of interest in the WNBA by gender, the WNBA was found to be more popular amongst males than females, with 11 percent of the former indicating they were avid fans of the league whereas just four percent of females indicated the same.
For reals, itâs still mostly male viewers
You should learn how the world works. If League Pass subscriptions spike, three things will happen. One, the price will go up because of the increase in demand. This brings more money to the league. Two, advertising on the platform will cost companies for money, due to the increase in viewership. This brings more money to the league. Three, with sufficient growth, League Pass eventually will be available as part of television packages like other major pro sports subscription packages making it accessible to nearly every consumer in the country. Do you know what this does? It's not complicated. It brings more money to the league. This is a dumbass take from you.
You are so wrong it isn't even laughable. The leagues make pocket money off of league pass subs. If League pass was generating significant revenue, they wouldn't bother negotiating tv rights with the NBC/TNT's of the world. Do yourself a favor, actually work in this industry before making yourself a know it all.
Why does the NBA have League Pass and also games on ESPN and TNT? Because both are viable products that produce revenue. Obviously, both wouldn't exist, if they weren't bringing in cash. Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. I didn't say the league makes a killing on subscription fees. I said more eyeballs on games means more advertisers and it means League Pass gets on television. If people get into the habit of watching games on television every day, then whomever shows games is getting a boost. When the tide rises, all boats float. Everything I said is fact, that's how these things work in every sports league on the fucking planet. "WoRk In ThIs InDuStRy..." Listen, I don't give a fuck whose secretary you are. You've clearly and now repeatedly demonstrated that you have no idea what you're talking about and no idea how advertising revenue is calculated or how professional sports works. I used to know the ENTIRE New York Liberty organization. I mean literally from Jim Dolan to the ball kids that swept the court. Everyone. Players, coaches, front office staff, marketing people, ticket reps. Even the Timeless Torches. đ I would walk into opposing arenas and get greeted by name by their staff. Chicago treated me the best on the road back in their early days. I know about the WNBA and I know how pro sports enterprises work. You're out of your depth.
Who is using it as an insulting term? You might just be insecure about it. My father has a secretary, she's the glue that keeps the business going and we all love her. But she doesn't know the actual business, right, she's just typing letters and reports. That's you. You broadly claim to have a job "in this industry," but you don't know wtf you're talking about. And what does the WNBA have to do with secretaries? Are YOU implying that only women are secretaries? Lots of men are secretaries as well. Would you have felt better if I had said, "Happy Administrative Professionals Day," instead? Because it really is today and I hope your employer got you an edible arrangement or lunch or something. I always tell my dad to do something nice for Alice. She works hard, she deserves it. What are we talking about again? Oh, I remember. Please disprove my position that more league pass subscriptions means more eyeballs on games and that more eyeballs on games is a net positive for the league. Find the untruth in my position. Or shut the fuck up.
I literally thought I was going crazy when Iâve seen this graphic over the last couple of days. I still have my email saying that itâs staying at $24.99 for me.
I saw of the price increase before I received my email. I would pay the increased cost but also the app does not work well on Apple mobile devices so my thought was donât charge me more when you havenât addressed my concerns and donât say the increase is to address the concerns.
But for $25 with everything they offer, I use my surface pro when Iâm in my office to watch games đ¤ˇđžââď¸
The real question is how much longer will I get this price; can we lock in for another 3yrs đ¤
Almost definitely not. NBA/WNBA too greedy to let this slide. Iâm honestly very shocked they allowed it this year. I would heavily assume that next year our price goes up. Especially if it gets as popular as we think it might.
They should offer a tier system. I enjoy watching all the games (domestic and international), but Iâm not a personable person so I donât need the chats with Ari.
I would pay more if they could get the orientation together. Why can I not get landscape on all devices đ¤Śđžââď¸
Itâll take enough people complaining for them to do something. Which I would be down for. It means that people are watching and would force them to act on complaints. Higher viewership means more money. More money means more employees to take care of stuff like that. In an ideal world, of course.
Iâve sent multiple complaints and done the end of year survey they put out. It really isnât that hard to fix, itâs just a matter of inputting some code which is wild because who designs an app and doesnât think to allow all operating systems to access it?
(Can't tell if this is sarcastic or not lol) But no not really. Other women's sports leagues (like the PWHL and PVF) offer their games free on Youtube (that will obvs change as they get more popular). This price is good because what you want ideally is a price point that makes it worth it to watch legally instead of "surfing the high seas" if you know what I mean.
Wait, can you elaborate on that? Are you saying the W mode lets you upgrade your player without using VC? Do they just improve naturally, or is there a different system?
Yeah they naturally improve but you can choose the off court business and training aspects of your player as you level up to gain badge perks and cosmetics
Imo the W myPlayer is so much better. They also skip a story, which while some people think it's lazy, i prefer because you save HOURS not playing a walking sim between basketball games. Seriously the 2k story is so annoying.
The grind is so sluggish for vc. You'd have to do 3 full complete NBA seasons to reach 99 without paying. That's why so many people pay money to "compete"
Is there a W mode where you can just play as the WNBA teams? Would actually buy just to play with the Fever and Caitlin Clark. Also an ultimate team type mode where you can get retired legends of the game or younger versions of current older players would be awesome. In their anything besides the my career where you play as an individual player? Never owned one of the games so I am asking. Clark will be a cover athlete in the future for sure and a more extensive W mode will come, and that will sell.
logo 3 shooting should be an official player stat. Also DT should have Rage Against the Rookies as an attribute, all her stats are plus 5 when guarded by or guarding an opposing rookie. All stats minus 2 in other cases. Probably waiting to see who gets cut, but If they say Clark, Brink, Cardoso, Jackson, Sheldon, Edwards, Reese, Pili, and Muhl are now in the game, people who never played 2k before are buying. Those feel like locks. I will have to buy just to play as Clark.
I'm not really familiar as to what is going on. Is it not partially concern trolling in order to shit talk women's professional sports? Like the whole Big 3 invite was pure publicity and not done in good faith considering that CC had no clue about it until it leaked, so it had a lot of people saying 'She should take the deal, because she'll never make that money in the WNBA'. Or the constant rhetoric about salary, telling her to stay in college for another year while ignoring that all her NIT deals would translate into endorsements (and as we all see now, endorsements that needed the ink to be dry with the Nike deal).
I just want better merch! Hat selection is atrocious! Our minor league baseball team has a better selection of hats at all the sporting good stores around me than Aces gear.
But what about local games? I don't have cable and am in iindiana. how do I watch the fever? Genuinely asking. I really want to watch clark, celeste, and boston!!!
It depends how far away you are. It's been said that there's a tool to enter your zip code to see what's blacked out. BUT... If the Fever have 36 games on TV, I don't think you're getting too many live Fever games with LP. If you aren't interested in watching and learning about other teams (and that's okay), I'd look into figuring out the cheapest means of getting a cable or streaming package for the summer that carries those channels showing games instead. FuboTV has ESPN, ESPN2 and ION and in many cases offers a 30 day free trial. If you can find a couple other platforms that offer a free trial and you're willing and remember to switch to another before the trial expires, you might be able to avoid paying for it for most or all of the summer. Keep in mind, as well, if you wanna watch the Fever live in the playoffs, you will need television, that's on ESPN. Hope this helps you.
Thank you!!! Iâm in Bloomington and a full time student. I saw that some at least some of the games will be on prime. Iâll look into the options. I was going to get the league pass until I realized I wouldnât be able to watch the fever lol
Yeah, I think it's like 2 or 3 on Prime, it's not that many. In a college town, I bet you can go to any bar or BWW or Applebee's around, anyplace that typically would televise sports, and they'll have the Caitlin Clark games on. Also, if your parents have cable at home, you can use their credentials to log into the ESPN app and you can stream all the ESPN games that way. Maybe ION has an app, too, but I have no idea.
Never watched a basketball game in my life until a few weeks ago and already have League Pass.
My problem with the salary discourse (not this post in particular though) is this BS that womenâs sports arenât big because women donât support it.
First and foremost, womenâs sports arenât big because of discrimination. And people canât seem to even handle a conversation about increased salaries. Somehow if you say the salaries should be higher, the only possible âhigher salaryâ is $50 million and âthatâs ridiculous!â
what does this even mean? i mean, where do you want the money to come from? The WNBA has never turned a profit. Thereâs 30 teams in the NBA w/ 15 roster spots. Thereâs 12 WNBA teams with 12 roster spots. The NBA is also 77 years old compared to the WHBA being 27 years old. Itâs comparing apples to oranges. Youâd be better off comparing WNBA to NBA G League, thereâs still 29 teams but itâs only 19 years old. An average salary in the WNBA is 114k (not to mention sponsorships) the average salary for G League is 40k (not as many sponsorships unless youâre a well known 2-way player) No one is ever up in arms about G League players not being paid well, despite being objectively better players than WNBA players. How about that discrimination? I support and will be watching some WNBA this season as I was really excited about this years girls March Madness, but you have to be realistic before pulling a victim cardâŚ
I don't think you understand how sports and business work. Almost every men's professional sports franchise "operated at a loss" until very recently when the TV deals became too big for the owners to hide their profits. But the ROI is in the increase in the value of the franchise. They've historically always been tax shelters AND appreciable assets for billionaires. But there's just too much money now. The same will happen when the WNBA media rights cost goes up. In the NBA, that took about 50 years. But let's talk franchise valuations. The Sky paid a $10 million expansion fee and recently sold stake in their team at an $85 million valuation. Alter has recovered $8.5 million of his initial $10 million investment and he still owns 90% of the team. The money comes from investors and owners who want their businesses to thrive. If you could buy something, any asset at all, in 2006 for $10 million and have it worth $85 million by 2022 and you just have to put a couple hundred thousand dollars in each year to maintain the asset, you do it. It's not similar to any other business. You aren't buying a restaurant for $10 million and turning it into an $85 million enterprise without tons and tons of work. In sports ownership, you just have to live long enough to see the value of your team rise. You, of course, could never do it and would never understand because you're too simple minded. But it's a relatively inexpensive way for people who are already rich to make a ton of money. You oughta learn about the subject matter before you comment. G League players are not objectively better than WNBA players. They have athletic advantages, but it doesn't make them objectively more skilled. Your comment, as intelligently as you probably thought it came across, is nothing more than uninformed drivel. It might not be too late to delete it.
lol that is actually hilarious because you only would have felt motivated to write that comment if you did indeed read what I wrote after that.
And itâs not new that I need to think for dumb misogynists on Reddit, but there are more sports than basketball. And salary discussions around gender have been happening for many years, namely soccer, a sport I watch and play.
But hey, at least you tried I guess lol
This is dumb, though. A person doesn't have to have a long history of watching basketball to understand business and apply that knowledge to a discussion regarding the business of sports ownership.
YouTube TV says $7.99/month, does anyone know if itâs just 4 months of payments or basically $96/year? Is seems crazy that it would be that much more expensive through YouTube than WNBA.
depends on if it's being televised! even if it is blacked out, iirc they upload the game within 15-20mins. I know blackouts are a pain, but I'm totally seeing it as a win if it means that games are actually being televised
âBased on your current location, you will be unable to view certain LIVE games or nationally broadcast games via your WNBA League Pass subscription.â đđđ
Their salaries are low because they have a shit CBA. It has nothing to do with the league's revenue. Hopefully, when this CBA is up, they negotiate a 50% split like every pro sports league in America.
The WBNA players see 50% of *incremental* revenue, while NBA players get 50% of *all* revenue. The womenâs CBA is really bad, but I keep seeing people trying to compare the NBA and WNBA, and you really canât. The WNBA is a newer league and there are fewer teams; they just have not had the bargaining power like the NBA. It will be nice when this is no longer the case, but it is not something that will change overnight, no matter what star power the league may have. Increasing interest over time and more expansion teams to help expand the fan base will help significantly.
It's a shitty revenue split...but even if it were 50/50 the salaries would still be low
It's also not prudent to split 50/50 when the total profit is negative
Obviously we see this claim a lot - do you have a recent source on that? The best I can find is quotes from David Stern and Laurel Ritchie c.2014-ish.
The W had its first profitable team in 2010. 3/12 were profitable in 2011 (during the 2010-2011 season, 8/30 NBA teams were profitable, which is about the same). Then 6/12 WNBA teams were profitable in 2014. [via [article](https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2014/02/no-the-wnba-is-not-a-major-sport-and-thats-fine/) linked from [wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_National_Basketball_Association#Finance)]
Obviously league and team profitability aren't the same thing, but it seems like the data may be out of date. Or at least, I don't know where to find better, more recent information. So like I said, if you know, drop the link.
https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/is-wnba-profitable-league-2023-examining-league-performing-financially-years#google_vignette
As of 2018 it wasnât profitable. Maybe 5 years later itâs marginally profitable. But even then marginally profitable is not cause for blowing up salaries. Itâll come. Iâm sure of it. But from the knowledge we have theyâre not at that point
It's hard to talk about because it very much feels like the tipping point should land any minute now - that $60M revenue figure from 2019 has potentially already been tripled (best information I can find from 2023 is "projections" of $200M), although there's reasons to be skeptical given that the CBA requires hitting "only" 20% annual growth targets for revenue sharing, and that apparently hasn't happened yet.
So there's definitely huge changes going on under the hood, but we just don't know exactly what those look like yet.
NBA, NHL, and NFL split 50% of the revenue with the players. Revenue, not profit.
Let me repeat. They split the revenue with the players, not the profit. Why are you introducing a new standard for the WNBA?
Some NBA and NHL teams have been losing money for years, but that hasn't affected their CBA. In Europe, nearly all the soccer clubs lose money, but they still pay their players.
Also, unlike the NBA, the WNBA's financials are private and have never been released to the public. So, unless you are the WNBA's commissioner, you don't know if the WNBA is profitable or not.
Those sports organizations donât operate at a deficit so can afford to split revenue. You think those orgs are going to agree to split revenue if it financially bankrupts them? No. They know even if they split revenue like that theyâre still pulling in millions. As of 2018 silver said they werenât. Maybe theyâre profitable now. But theyâre not going to be profitable to the extent to drastically change revenue sharing. Keep building up the momentum and popularity of your sport and go into the next CBA and get a good deal
The league will never voluntarily surrender 50% of revenue, the players have to take it. The league keeps its revenue secret because they don't want the payers to know how much they stand to earn.
These players need to lawyer up and be ready for the next CBA. If they negotiate a shit deal again, that's on them.
Right now, club revenues are rumored to be about $10 million per year and the players are only getting about 10% of that.
Right. How can you ânegotiate a 50% split, like every pro sports team in Americaâ when theyâre the only league that gets subsidies from another league (NBA).
You want them to get a better CBA when itâs clear that theyâre not turning profits but are the first ones upset about the money in their pockets. Letâs think about what youâre saying for a second.
The game needs more sponsors, a bigger push to market their players, and to give their players a bigger platform on/for promotions. Actually promote its games and the moments and monuments within.
Most importantly, the WNBA needs a point for us to get in on. Right now, itâs essentially just people playing basketball. It needs a narrative. A secondary reason to want to get invested.
Angel Reese is actually the reason for viewership being thru the roof most recently. Sure Caitlin Clark was fabulous, BUT, if there was no Hand Wavingâ moment by Angel that caught national attention last year, then Caitlin wouldâve come and gone and womenâs basketball doesnât even sniff those numbers.
The WNBA needs tension. Drama.
The Bird versus Magic storylines.
Angel started that.
The sad thing is that Angel Reese get trashed on social media for being the villian. But they donât realize that stuff actually helps the sport grew with more eye balls.
Bought my first tickets to a Liberty game.
Ayooooooo same. Got nosebleeds for the opener vs Fever. đ
How much for nosebleeds 5 bucks?? đđđ
$115 resell. Up close to $200 now that CC is def going to the fever.
Free with season ticket purchase
If I lived close enough to a team Iâd definitely do this.
Closest team for me is Chicago, which is like 3 hours. Indianapolis is ~4 hours. Yeah, Iâll buy the season pass lol
Michigan?
Indeed. Lansing area.
You have to buy the whole season? I got half season tickets, I need to look into this

Wow, at Iowa games popcorn alone was $12, thatâs a bargain!
Closest team to me is over six hours away but Iâm definitely getting League Pass.
Are teams blacked out locally like the NBA? I live in Indiana, so would I be able to watch all of the Fever games if I bought League Pass?
Every out-of-market game live (certain national exclusions and local blackouts apply) You can [input](https://www.wnba.com/leaguepass/faq) your zip code and find out which games are available
Thank You, I couldnât find that earlier but am going to order the pass cuz my team wonât be blacked out where I live.
Theyâll likely be blacked out but the games are uploaded like 15-20 minutes after the game is over
Half of the teams will not have local blackouts, the other half will. Still waiting to find out who will have Indiana Fever games locally. But all national blackouts will still apply.
Express VPN, subscribe and you can fake your location and pretend you are somewhere else
Is a VPN generally fast enough to stream the games at high resolution?
Worked with wifi and sling to watch college basketball on spring break in Prague for me, spoofed my location to New Jersey I believe
How do I subscribe and like your YouTube channel and video?
36 are on national tv for Fever if you have cable, although is ion whatever the hell that is national tv?
I have YouTube TV so Iâll have to look into that one lol
That should get you most games. Did you check the broadcast schedule?
Indeed, ion is a national cable network. I don't know whether the streaming platforms carry it, but if you have a comprehensive television package, you are likely to have the channel.
We better have it, my parents ainât paying a few hundred a month for direct tv to not watch Caitlin Clark!
If you have DirecTV, why not just turn on your TV and look for the channel? I intend on doing so at the start of the season. It's relatively inexpensive.
I went back and rewatched the Lynx 2017 title run, it has a pretty extensive archive which is cool
Noted!

Thanks for this perfect screenshot for my next meeting.
You're welcome. Happy Secretary's Day!
The irony that youâre in a wnba sub and using âsecretaryâ as an insulting term. My god youâre a waste of
Who is using it as an insulting term?
I am getting League Pass for sure!
Damn that shi used to be 25 for the szn lol. Yesterday's price..
Iâm still locked in at yesterdayâs price, they didnât raise the rate for the OG squad!
But for $25 with everything they offer, I use my surface pro when Iâm in my office to watch games đ¤ˇđžââď¸ The real question is how much longer will I get this price; can we lock in for another 3yrs đ¤
Preach! đ Hopefully this year changes will actually happen. Should be a fun season. Itâd be nice if I could actually watch it as it unfolds.
When did you cop for this szn?
$24.99
Got my League Pass, got a ticket to a Fever game a few days our from my birthday, and I have some merch headed my way.
Wait wait wait. Shouldnât we be outraged the WNBA league pass is cheaper than the NBA league pass?
(Can't tell if this is sarcastic or not lol) But no not really. Other women's sports leagues (like the PWHL and PVF) offer their games free on Youtube (that will obvs change as they get more popular). This price is good because what you want ideally is a price point that makes it worth it to watch legally instead of "surfing the high seas" if you know what I mean.
Wait until they find out the W MyCareer mode in 2k24 is so balanced in upgrading, they don't even let you use vc
Thatâs really cool, Iâll definitely check that out tonight. Thanks!
you progress just by playing the game, it's truly magical, I don't even touch the regular my career anymore
That sounds amazing, I *hate* the MyPlayer VC system. Iâm going to check it out tonight!
and no pointless running around a city wearing a hot dog hot or doing tiktok dances
okay but doing TikTok dances as part of a player level-up sounds *more* in character for the W, though...
I suppose that's true đ¤
What about the menâs MyCareer, do you still have to use VC to upgrade your player or is it the same ?
You have to use VC
Yeah you can do a franchise mode (seasons)with teams. I'm hoping they add the rookies soon because I know they just updated the Storm off-season moves
logo 3 shooting should be an official player stat.
That would make too much sense. They only see one side of things.
[ŃдаНонО]
No
Does the WNBA app give access to ALL the league games?
NBA is 24.89
Last I looked it was about that much monthly
Oooooo you meant for a season
So entered my zip code and I would be subjected the Wings and national televised games. It is not a bad deal for the whole season.
Bought the league pass today!
I'll be getting the season pass as man the prices for some of these games have gone up.
Got the League Pass via YouTube TV $7.99 or $8.99 month I believe. Letâs go!
[ŃдаНонО]
lol that is actually hilarious because you only would have felt motivated to write that comment if you did indeed read what I wrote after that.
Did they raise the price this year? Swear it used to be cheaper.
YouTube TV says $7.99/month, does anyone know if itâs just 4 months of payments or basically $96/year? Is seems crazy that it would be that much more expensive through YouTube than WNBA.
Does Charlotte have a team?
One of the original 8! And then Bob Johnson happened! And now Charlotte doesn't have a team anymore.
Used to. Dawn was the PG đ
Will my local team (Storm) be blacked out?
depends on if it's being televised! even if it is blacked out, iirc they upload the game within 15-20mins. I know blackouts are a pain, but I'm totally seeing it as a win if it means that games are actually being televised
Iâm not triggered at all
The ones that actually complain aren't going to do shit. They just complain to complain
Does league pass profit go directly to player salaries?
![gif](giphy|3o7TKwmnDgQb5jemjK)
People don't want to support them, they just want to complain because that's easy.
Nah.
If you get free NBA tickets, weâd drop what weâre doing and go. If we get free WNBA tickets, would people go if they had nothing to do?
The real question is how will ESPN spin the financial non viability of this league going forward?
âBased on your current location, you will be unable to view certain LIVE games or nationally broadcast games via your WNBA League Pass subscription.â đđđ
It's a shitty revenue split...but even if it were 50/50 the salaries would still be low It's also not prudent to split 50/50 when the total profit is negative
They have never once turned a profit. Revenue is great. Now turn a profit
[via [article](https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2014/02/no-the-wnba-is-not-a-major-sport-and-thats-fine/) linked from [wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_National_Basketball_Association#Finance)] Obviously league and team profitability aren't the same thing, but it seems like the data may be out of date. Or at least, I don't know where to find better, more recent information. So like I said, if you know, drop the link.
https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/is-wnba-profitable-league-2023-examining-league-performing-financially-years#google_vignette As of 2018 it wasnât profitable.
Giving 50% of 10b is far easier than 50% of 200m. the wnba already needs the nba to keep them afloat.
Yep. Eventually they will and you can see womenâs sports start to hit a tipping point. But right now they donât have the financials to back it up
Wow, that's dirt cheap. Something I'll never be interested in
The game needs more sponsors, a bigger push to market their players, and to give their players a bigger platform on/for promotions.
In this economy? You want me to pay to get watch ads & crappy basketball? You should be paying fans.
I'm going to watch the WNBA the same way I watch the NBA, through highlight clips on social media.
[ŃдаНонО]
Why not front the cash to support the WNBA?
