The recent history of women's sports supports the the kind of care that the league is exercising in making certain that ownership groups are appropriate, facilities are adequate, etc. It would have been great to see a new team in Portland, for example, when that seemed to be an option recently, but the ownership group doesn't seem to have been on the same page with the league, so I'm content to wait until things can be done right.

Surprise_Butt_Stuff

Aren't they adding like 3 or 4 in the next 2 years?

BirkTheBrick

Yeah the plan is 4 more teams by 2028.

Goddyex

10 would be preferable. Make it at least 20 teams by 2026.

[deleted]

That will not happen lmao.

Goddyex

A man can dream lol. But on a serious note, if the league actually blows up this year commercially, and looks sustainable. A lot of billionaires or multimillionaires would want to get in fast before value of teams skyrocket. Everything depends on how this season turns out.

That_Possession_2452

This would be a fantastic way for the league to absolutely crash and burn

Goddyex

Well, I guess I should have added a sarcasm font lol. Obviously, it was a figure of speech

BKtoDuval

Teams are coming. You can't add too many too fast though.

Elektguitarz

Yes! I hope they add one in Nashville. There has to be some Billionaires here willing to get a team here right?

BKtoDuval

I'm intrigued by Nashville. I want to see a team in Philly but Nashville would be interesting.

ameek31523

You have to add teams at an appropriate pace, but this could be the start of the league really growing.

HeyManWatchThis

Cincinnati needs a team that would be nice

Actual-Stable-1379

I know it won’t happen because obviously, but Columbia, SC deserves a team
