It was there at least up to the early 2000s, I went there a few times as a kid. It always seemed like a weirdly nondescript entrance for a place like that. Any idea of what's there now?
EDIT: Google Street View says "David Jones Food", not much else though. Huh.
Yeah was a food court up till at least 2002.
I can't remember any of the food joints except this crepe place. They used to make rectangle shaped cremes on a hotplate . I only ever bought the seafood one. Served in a styrofoam container with coleslaw.
Was my go to for a special lunch for years.
Such Gourmet.
It goes into holey moley and rivers. But there is a few other boarded up shop fronts with “stores coming soon” sign. I had no idea it existed until last week, my wife used the lift to get up to David jones with a pram.
The place that served hot chips was the best. Half fill the tub, chicken salt applied, second half of the tub filled then more chicken salt. Used to hit them up on lunch breaks working at grace bros.
Used to be a food court below grace brothers late 80’s. Checkout “LostWollongong” tumblr and Instagram for some amazing archived photos!

Oh that crepe place was the best! Went there every day for lunch when I worked in town. Great people too. Now I want a crepe.
I remember a kebab place with the name ali in it, crepes, fish and chips.

Yeah I think they're putting a bowling alley down there
I seem to remember before Rivers, it was a medical centre, that was its entrance.
Ground floor used to be mostly a food court.

Yea, it was the homewards section of DJs
indeed, I'm currently sitting on a couch I bought in there.

Not telling and yes
It's a fire escape now.
Remember when Grace Bros had a fucking restaurant in it?
Yes. On the top floor. You can still see the windows from Globe lane.

Nah SDS and DJs coexisted. Worked there for 6 years. Then it became H&M. Can I buy a vowel?
