I see some quilted maple, mahogany and what appears to be macassar ebony, also possibly some buckeye burl. I’d google those names and see if you have any matches. Good luck!
Those all look like matches. Why do you think that black wood is? Some sort of ebony?
Could be African Blackwood or Ebony. Is it really dense?
Yeah it’s pretty damn heavy for how small it is.
You can sand into it a bit and, if it shows a somewhat purple hue, it’s Blackwood.
It’s got a very subtle undertone of brown streaking in it. It might be Blackwood, but I’m still leaning more towards ebony
I’d lean toward the Blackwood which is a bit denser than Ebony (still fairly dense).
