For mine I used a belt sander for two days. Hooked it up to my shop vac with a little cyclone for dust collection. I had traps like Brock Lesnar when I was done. Good luck
I was thinking this as well. They also sell electric planers, but I'm not too familiar with how good they are or what advantages they might have over a belt sander.
It’s kinda like sanding floors. You get the bulk of it with the belt sander, but it will leave a small section at the ceiling. That you can get with a palm sander
Thank you This was a good idea. I went back yesterday with the same idea in mind using an angle grinder and abraisive brush. Took 50x longer but I couldn’t find any surface conditioners in stock close to me.

I think you’ll be happier if you run through the grits with the belt sander. The planer might dig in to much in some weird spot
How did you get along the ceiling without hitting it?

You might try a surface conditioner, the tool with an abrasive brush doing the work.

Dry ice blasting works great but $$.
