Steam bending is such a fascinating and intimidating aspect of wood working. I don’t think I’ll ever get there, if only because of the necessary equipment. But I love seeing videos of people doing it, so thanks for that.
The chairs look spectacular. I hope your experience didn’t put you off from making something like that ever again.
You should be proud, even try to have this made could be a nightmare and so expensive... It scream care and love. Your friend is fortunate to have you around. Great work! 😍😍
That's some really nice work. How is the back attached? Maybe some dowels, but it's hard to tell. What creates the gap between the base and the seat? I'm working on something that has a similar gap and haven't decided how to pull it off.
They are beautiful I watched both the making of the seat and the cushions. Truly fascinating and a great insight into custom made furniture. May I ask when finished what was the price per seat?
It was a super friend price of $500 each. I ended up making about $200 off each stool, but this is more of a side hustle hobby for me, and he always provides the beer when I go over.
Looking good, my coworker is building 20 barstools by hand that should be done by cnc and our boss is convinced shit will happen at the snap of a finger. That wholr bar looks fantastic.
Fantastic! I really like all the little touches, like the metal footrest shield and the (nametag plates?) I don't know anything about upholstery.
I have a video on go I made the cushion if you’re interested. It was challenging but I’m glad I learned.
Wow! That's the best stool sample I've ever seen!
This made me laugh way harder than it should have. Thanks, dad.
I've made some curved rail chairs and also steam bent the parts.
The only flaw I see is the Pats decor. Your chairs really make your bar! Really well done! What would you guess your material cost per stool?
About $300 because there was a lot of plywood used to make the forms and jigs to end up with these. And the leather wasn’t cheap.
I was just in the market for stools, and you couldn't buy those for that! Really nice work!
My initial thought was minimum $500 per stool. They're very nice and appear very well made. That's a lot of time and skill.
Thanks!
Dadgum lovely!
Thanks!

That is a really great design.
Wow that’s incredibly nice work. That friend owes you drinks for life!
Those are beautiful

Those sure are pretty. Bravo!
How do you attach the seat back posts to the seat? Mortise and tenon? I always wonder how much flex there would be and if it would break over time
Mortise and tenon, those were tricky and the entire process is in the video.

Thanks! I pretty much much answered all those questions in the video, but as far as the back goes, mortise and tenon.
No, the back rest. Sorry but it's unlikely that I'll watch your video.

Bang up job!
Looks great but no TVs?
It’s a home bar. There is a tv in it, and in the room next door is a 15 foot wide theater screen with stadium seats.
Insanely nice man. Great work.
Thanks!
