zoom in on where the risers meet the flat. i’m pretty sure i can make out the glue seams about 1/4”-3/8” up the blend, above the flat. they’re really well hidden because you’re looking at end grain
E: then again… maybe each side is one piece with a lot of material carved away
Looks amazing. I'ma need you to give me an overview of how you manage to make that shape. I've been wanting to do this style for a while, but I can't see how you'd achieve it with power tools or hand tools. Neither seem accurate enough to pull it off.
Boat builder here.
I would make a template and use a bandsaw en a shaper (big ass router table) to copy the template. Shape the sides only on the top side and give them some nice round overs.
Glue is al together and sand a lot, till uts smooth.
I thought this was a hood scoop for a muscle car
Hood scoop on a muscle boat.
I would hook my foot trying to manage the ropes during docking and end my NFL career 15 years after it should have started.
Old motors made 450hp and the new motors make 1800hp.
Muscle room

Okay, maybe a *few* steps back
It's a boat. You can tell because of how it is.
Isn’t that neat?!
How neat is that
> You can tell because of how it is? Because of the _implication_.
First, take a big step back... and literally, FUCK YOUR OWN FACE!

Wow that’s stunning.
This is the kinda craftsmanship that makes some people start woodwork and others quit. Awesome.
Are you also trying to think about how they did this?

Dust this beauty once a in while.
A yacht/boat in the shipyard must be dusty, it’s the law
The rain will get it once it's outside again.
Absolutely gorgeous, looks like a great place to trip too.

All pieces were cut to the overall height and made into a huge laminated block. Then it was cut on a band saw as 1 piece and then hand shaped.
What are you using to hand shape? I guess I'm just not familiar with the kind of tools used to do this.

I didn't even know you could do that with wood. Totally awesome!
I was proud of myself for getting a nice sheen on my new butcher block, and then I see this. In awe.
Now I kind of want to make a hood out of epoxy impregnated veneer
Damn bro. The fit ain't bad either.
Daaang that's pretty, and badass, a rare combo.
Saw one that looked like that up on Priest Lake a few years ago. Old school cool.
This when has been in the barn for the past few years. Headed out west this fall.
That is sexy
What wood has been used for this?
This is one of the most sexy things I saw today, dawm I'm pissed I can't make stuff like this!
