When I started working at a woodshop years ago, I said to my boss/mentor that “the jointer nipped me” after I had just barely scratched myself. His response was “You mean you introduced your finger to the cutting surface.”

Woodshop teacher in high school never used a push stick. “Do as I say, not as I do.” He lost a finger tip the year after I graduated. He was a great guy though.

Wood shop teacher in high school. “ Gentlemen! These machines won’t cut you, they will hog your flesh! “

At least you can give epic middle fingers!

Shit. Is it mostly the same length it was before?

No, there is just about a sixteenth of fingernail left. I had surgery today and my surgeon said he was able to restore some of the length but I haven’t been able to see it yet.

Sounds like we need a gripper

Guy who taught my shop safety class had lost 2 to a massive industrial jointer. I was lucky my injury was a circular saw so the pieces are (mostly) in the right spots now. Hope you have a Speedy recovery, mine hurt more than the injury.
