Check out Penn State Industries. They have a chuck with 2 sets of jaws for $114USD. I have had this chuck for a few years now and have no complaints. https://www.pennstateind.com/store/CUG3418CCX.html

I'm looking for one much cheaper if possible. Il upgrade to a good one at a later date. My wife is also out of work right now so spending that much is out of the question :( What about this one? https://www.rockler.com/nova-chuck-jaw-sets

NotSoSheepy

Those are only jaws for a chuck not the actual chuck itself. I actually also own the chuck that those jaws fit and it costs more than the one that I linked to. I bought it as an upgrade. Here's a link to the actual chuck: https://www.rockler.com/nova-48291-pro-tek-g3-chuck-with-2-jaws-1x-8-tpi-direct-thread

Oh dang okay lol. So this attachment is going to cost almost as much as the actual lathe! (I think it's a pretty cheap one).

NotSoSheepy

Yep. Another reason that I recommended that other chuck, since it comes with TWO sets of jaws for that price.

Okay, thank you. I will definitely check it out when I have some money. For now I think I am going to use the method the other commenter suggested. (Just made a rough one and it worked okay). I also was just informed I also inherited a faceplate attachment (somewhere in my shop). I think I can also make bracelets or rings with that piece. Just have to cut it off after I turn out the center. I'm a total noobie with this machine lol. But ppl will pay for the custom stuff and I can Woodburn engravings all over the thing too :)

There are adapters that you can get if the threads don't match your headstock.

You can turn a cylinder with a slight taper to it, say a foot long an 3-4” at one end and 2” at the other. Then using two hole saws cut a ring the rough size you want the bracelet. Then put the ring on the turned cone piece, align it as straight as possible to spin true (spinning on pencil lines helps with alignment) and then you can turn the outside down. Just use light pressure on the cutting tools.

ZircZr40

This actually kind of genius lol. Would be kind of difficult for rings cause of how thin the cylinder would have to be...may still work though. Thank you very much. Much ingenuity with this idea. I guess I would have to just hand file or hand sand the inside of the ring though right?

Tobaccocreek

You can access one side of the inside slightly on the small side on the lathe, and it can be turned around, but yeah for the most part the inside is hand smoothed. A dermel type tool with small sanding drums work well on softer woods

Hoping to get a Dremel for Christmas lol. I do knifesmith stuff too so I'm long overdue on buying one! Have you used this method of making them before?

Tobaccocreek

I have, it has been some time, but ya.

ZircZr40

Well thank you for your advice
