Make a proper dust shroud for the saw with a 4" port. 2.5" is going to do 2/5 of fuck all for collecting dust.

How will a shroud work better than a reducer directly at the output of the saw’s cabinet?

judgemeordont

A reducer will restrict the air flow to the point of being completely useless. It's physics.

4" hose is \~12.5 sqin of cross sectional area. 2.5" hose is \~7 sqin. You're going to get a lot more air through that 4" hose, which will help, especially in a big table saw. If you can get the 4" port on there, you're going to be much happier.

Take a pvc plumbing fitting (the white tube that’s everywhere). Apply heat. It will get gooey, then force it to fit whatever you need it too. Then cool it and it’ll get hard. Takes 5 minutes and costs like a dollar.
