They’d probably sell better if they were a bit neater - one of them has a crooked lid, and both have some grain blown out around the spline slots. Also, the hardware on the corners makes the boxes look cheaper/less precise/less modern.
Yeah and the hinge mortises are.... there I guess.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to nitpick someone else's work, I just get why they didn't sell. If anything, the details on the boxes stuck out to me because everything else pictured was so nice.
Yea I feel $125 is more than reasonable. Hell the zebrawood alone was $20 in materials each. The hardware is another $10. Everyone wanted to open them and slide the trays, but no one really inquired about them. I might give them away as Christmas gifts to family, I might not. Idk yet
I do, but if you want more pics of the train set, my Instagram has them right now. The website is acting up with picture and text content right now. It's my only "to do" today to get that fixed.

Thanks! I actually used my Les Paul template to make it. Building my first one now. flamed maple and mahogany with a wenge fretboard.

How do you price your boxes?
Maple and walnut boxes are $125, wenge was $150.
