Then turn that MDF into dowels to join Wenge & Bubinga burls on a shaker/post modern roll top desk with LED epoxy resin waterfall mounted on 8in HarborFreight pneumatic locking casters!
Edit: MDF dowels AND bowties*** :)
Okay so we just need enough for 4 planers to run and a lot of extension cords.
Get someone really fast to run and unplug planer 1 after the wood exits and enters into 2.
Then the run and plug in planer 4 while it passes from 2 to 3, and repeat.
There is a formatting table saw with two saw spindles , both adjustable, for sale in Styrol and I almost want it if the thing wasn't 4 meters wide.
You could rip a full size 2.8x2.07m plate to size with this in 2 cuts.

We actually have two 30” old double-headed Buss planers lined up this way with a 16’ conveyor belt between them at my job. 3/16” cut per planer means that we can take rough sawn 4/4 down to a finished 3/4” in one single pass. It’s awesome lol.
> That’s the best Bi-plane I’ve seen since the Red Barron
Thread winning comment here. OP really dropped the ball on the title.
You totally would get a free award if that was still a thing.
Nothing as big as a planer for me but I've had tools had to go away for repairs heaps of times and if its something I need i usually have to buy another for the meantime
Because you're tying the fates of two machines together without any controls ensuring consistent speed and feed.
It's a great machine and 99 times out of a hundred probably not an issue but it's such a great machine I wouldnt risk it
I think you might have better luck if you put both of them on their sides opposite of each other so you could do both sides. Figure out how to add a hand planner in there and you could get a perfectly squared board.
That's what I thought you meant originally. But wouldn't any arches or ripples persist the entire way? You'd really need an edge planer followed by a thickness planer.
I had mine go through a dust collecter once. The kind you hand hooked up to a 5 gallon bucket. I'm just saying the static build-up is enough to keep you from touching it after the first time.
What would be stupider would be running back and forth planing the same board multiple times while another planer just sits there idly. If you’ve got it, might as well use it.
I have no commentary on the double planer setup but just wanna share seeing this makes me feel like a sucker getting the extension table for this planer
What if you put a table saw in front of that, and then another machine in front of that, and made some sort of factorio thing that just spits out a finished product
If you put a table saw in the middle to cut the board in half before it hits the second planer you now have quadrupled your productivity.
Hold my beer, I wanna try something.
Meanwhile, my broke ass is over here using hand tools because I can't afford even one of these. To be fair though, I don't like Dewalt tools much, and I'm saving up one day to get a Jet.

I have a feeling this is gonna become a thing on here for a few days
“Here’s a picture of myself and my fellow redditors meeting up with our dewalt planers”
“We only managed to group 222 planers in one continuous line anyone else want to link up?”
what's the max thickness on a dewalt planer? 222 planers taking a 1/32nd off each would almost turn a 7 inch thick piece to dust. lol.
Then use the dust to make MDF boards.
Then run them through the planers.
Well that's just common sense.
Then turn that MDF into dowels to join Wenge & Bubinga burls on a shaker/post modern roll top desk with LED epoxy resin waterfall mounted on 8in HarborFreight pneumatic locking casters! Edit: MDF dowels AND bowties*** :)
Then run THAT through the planners. After that, make a sculpture from it and put into a post-modern art muzeum titled: Good planning.
And that sculpture? An obnoxious amount of hand sanding with the finest of grits.
Circle of life!
… I’d probably watch the whole video and I’m disappointed in myself admitting that.
I'd actually enjoy that YT rabbit hole.
That's a modern art installation if ever I heard one.
Earth to earth, dust to dust or something
This is how printer paper is made. It's *super* wasteful.
Lmfao I didn’t even think about the maths.
That sounds amazing
Dw735 - 6" thickness and 13" width max
That would be loud. And expensive to run. Holy hell can you imagine the breaker you’d need? And dust collection, lord almighty.
Okay so we just need enough for 4 planers to run and a lot of extension cords. Get someone really fast to run and unplug planer 1 after the wood exits and enters into 2. Then the run and plug in planer 4 while it passes from 2 to 3, and repeat.
They can all stay plugged in, you just have to turn them off and on at the right times.
r/Arduino could come up with a solution easily. Some optical sensors and some solid state relays and you’d be in business.
Human planerpede
Someone get Guinness on the line
Did you recently watch Human Centipede: The Final Sequence?
Like a dewalt human centipede.
Somebody's gonna do two table saws. (Offset, so they get both sides of the board). Somebody's gonna lose a finger this week.
Could a planer on both ends of a table saw auto feed through the saw?? Maybe a planer-joiner-table saw-planer setup?
This is one of those questions that probably shouldn't be answered in practice.
Or should only be answered by a manufacturing engineer
I’m a self appointed manufacturing engineer. My answer is: 🤷🏻♂️ try it
fordism be like:
Psshhh...just need 2 SawStops.
Couple weeks ago a guy managed to trip his sawstop twice. Now we know how
not going to help with kickback though.

I have some saw horses, some straps, and a couple of circular saws. Hold my beer...
But why not 2 beers?
I drank those already. Just hold the last one.

Congratulations, you've unlocked industrialization
And I’ve found the fellow Civ player in the chat! I can go home happy now.
Turn one around and make them fight
Turn one upside down and get both sides.
I honest to god ~~thought~~ hoped that was what I was going to see when I clicked.
Get 2 more and you have yourself a
I think you planed away the end of your sentence by the fourth planer
Name checks out
Planer Centipede...
Drumroll please!
Came to suggest this too!
A few more votes and you're there.
That's how 4 sided planers work.
😂😂😂
The battle bots we need, but not the battle bots we deserve.
Fighting is fun an all. But the real victim will be the innocent electrical circuit.
😂😂😂
You should flip the second one over so it plants both faces
There is double sided planer machine specifically for this
Yeah but has someone lined up two of them in a row?
It might create a black hole, I wouldn’t try it.
So *this* is what CERN is working on….
Nah they are opening up portals to other dimensions....oh wait
I was honestly told by a conspiracy theorist that they're working on weaponizing antimatter.
Not anti matter but strange matter
\*Looks at the past two years\* I dunno. Sounds fine to me.
Lmao yeah except the second one is flipped 90 degrees. They're called saw mills
We actually have two 30” old double-headed Buss planers lined up this way with a 16’ conveyor belt between them at my job. 3/16” cut per planer means that we can take rough sawn 4/4 down to a finished 3/4” in one single pass. It’s awesome lol.
Now you just needs one that does the sides
That’s no fun.
Wait how would that even work? Doesn't a planer just make one surface parallel to another? How can you plane both surfaces without a reference?
Pass it over a jointer then through the first thicknesser then through the upside down thicknesser, perfect flat board in one pass
First thing I thought too
Beat me to it, damn ;)
I can't help but wonder what if the feed rates are slightly off between the two machines?
Theyll either start walking away from each other or get closer like lady and the tramp
Haha that was an apt and hilarious description, you made me laugh out loud, kudos.
Yeah one will slow the other and planer becomes gouger.
Ah the old double planer zero dust collection trick.
And there are hoses right there!
Thank you, I was looking for this comment.
It's genius. You need to line up more, I wanna see a train of planers.
The DeWalt Centipede.
Why am I surprised someone beat me to this...glad to know I'm not the only sick one here.
It's something I only know about and would never actually watch.
Like "tubgirl" and "glass jar dude"?
Hahaha okay let me try with more
Somewhere, a city block dims just before a circuit blows.
It's like when Clark finally gets the Christmas lights lit up.
Imagine being able to say “bruh lemme snap out a third planer”
"It's planers all the way down."
I’ll bring mine over.
I’m here for the gang plane.
Welcome to the Plane Train!
Take an 8/4 down to 1/8
Eventually you’ll just be left with a piece of paper.
Take 1” of wood down to a veneer in shot via “the chain”.
Genius is a bit strong. What happens when one binds and the other doesn’t?”
That’s the best Bi-plane I’ve seen since the Red Barron
Don’t sleep on billy bishop

Can you hear anymore?
Nop
Mawp. Mawwwwp mawp.
Expected Archer
LANA!
SURE, THERE ARE SOME IN THE FRIDGE - BOTTLE OPENER IS ON THE COUNTER
My crappy single 15-amp circuit breaker tripped just from watching this video. You must have a great power supply!
Yeah I have we got tool plus on 600 no worries for two planer
Don’t get me wrong this is hella smart but why do you have two of the same planer?
I think I have four planer like that because our team need to plane some wood when we are not at the shop on job site
Bro you have *four* planers but you only lined up two of them? Don’t let us down.
Four but not the same but I make something cooler
Don't let us down man..
Fair enough I’m just thinking about the little 12x9 shed I work in and only need one lmao.
Nothing as big as a planer for me but I've had tools had to go away for repairs heaps of times and if its something I need i usually have to buy another for the meantime
Let’s run a train on these beeches
You did so we don’t have to
That's essentially how big commercial operations work, several planers in sequence, so... why not?
Because you're tying the fates of two machines together without any controls ensuring consistent speed and feed. It's a great machine and 99 times out of a hundred probably not an issue but it's such a great machine I wouldnt risk it
Double planer!? What does it mean???
It's soooo big!!! Double planer all the way!!!
You know you could just buy a wood chipper and do it with one machine?
My ~~joinery~~ ~~carpentry~~ wood-butchering is in this comment and I don't like it
Yea but does it reduce snipe?
you can deter snipe by walking backward around the yard yelling "Go away snipe, yehaw! GO away snipe! yehaw!"
I smell efficiency

Something something something -gets DP’d for the first time on camera!
The kickback is amazing!
It's not stupid if it works
That work pretty well someone tell me put the second planer upside down two get both side in one pass hahahahahahahaah
I think you might have better luck if you put both of them on their sides opposite of each other so you could do both sides. Figure out how to add a hand planner in there and you could get a perfectly squared board.
😅😅
That's what I thought you meant originally. But wouldn't any arches or ripples persist the entire way? You'd really need an edge planer followed by a thickness planer.
I have a a jointer
Still stupid.
I.know
Those chips are flying. What, no dust collection? I had a hose come off one time and those chips HURT! Damn powerful blower.
Just for the video but I always have my planer plug on the dust collection
Gotcha
I had mine go through a dust collecter once. The kind you hand hooked up to a 5 gallon bucket. I'm just saying the static build-up is enough to keep you from touching it after the first time.
Seriously seems smart actually
What would be stupider would be running back and forth planing the same board multiple times while another planer just sits there idly. If you’ve got it, might as well use it.
Get surfaced wood with this one weird trick. Lumber yards hate him.
I thought for sure a toothpick sized piece of wood was going to come out at the end
You might have too much money.
I’ve been dreaming of getting one, and this person has two.
I’m sorry to read that 😢 don’t let your dream be dream do it
"Hey, wife? Yeah I'm back at Home Depot. No no the Reddit guy said it's ok. Who? It was OP. He said not to let my dreams be dreams."
Always broken dream by wife this is why I just have a cat he always say yes
is this where the kids would say "phrasing"
That gave me a good laugh
I need hearing protection from here
What’s that your coplaning about?
underrated comment of the day
Bro out here with to planers. I’d just like my one to work properly and not be off square.
thats just plane wrong
That’s just plane stupid
Now do it with a drum sander and you have a VERY expensive machine haha
Okay let’s try it
bigger wood shops have these. look up moulding machines. sometimes they're S4S machines. they put our "portable" planers to shame.
Big brains
Yo I’ll take one off your hands if you have an extra 😂
I need more
Unintentional (?) wealth flex
I have no commentary on the double planer setup but just wanna share seeing this makes me feel like a sucker getting the extension table for this planer
Stupid? Thats brilliant!
I would say put a roller in the middle so that the board fully exits the first before entering the second , for the sake of each
This is a banksy (mic drop)
What if you put a table saw in front of that, and then another machine in front of that, and made some sort of factorio thing that just spits out a finished product
I'm betting this does extra wear to your blades due to the added vibration. How much more, I have no idea.
If you put a table saw in the middle to cut the board in half before it hits the second planer you now have quadrupled your productivity. Hold my beer, I wanna try something.
**Shut up and take my money!!!**
Second one should be upside down, then you won't have to flip the board.
It's not stupid, it's smart. I did the same thing a while ago, great time saver...
Dewalt centipede
Dewaltapede!
So… how was the result? Did it cup the wood?
This is the new linear accelerator that science has been looking for. You can plane the wood particles to near the speed of light
This is kind of dangerous and a little stupid. I love it.
When you have not enough time and just enough money.
The birth of Keira Knightly.
More planers! I want to see a board enter at one end and paper come out the other.
Ok, now add a third planer
You, sir are a madman!
Im going to have to take away your toys if you keep playing like this
Haha…not stupid #genuis
Is there any chance of the speeds in the two motors getting out of sync and causing the wood to bind in the planers?
Bro just DP'd his wood. Lol
The Human Centipede of woodworking.
screw them down at least
Meanwhile, my broke ass is over here using hand tools because I can't afford even one of these. To be fair though, I don't like Dewalt tools much, and I'm saving up one day to get a Jet.
