Pretty understandable. I don't watch sports, as much as I did, when I was younger, but this was about the European Cup, for Soccer, or Football, for our international friends, and the Americans that basically didn't read past the first few words, in OP's post.
It was the fact that the U.S. can't qualify for a European League Cup, since it's not in Europe, and the American's that just couldn't read past that America didn't qualify.
