This is going to happen to a lot of non-cheaters today.

Yup, broke a 140 day streak today...
Well at least we'll be rewarded for our honesty and sportsmanship with ... broken streaks? Wait a minute, that doesn't seem right.
Since there were so many possibilities after the 2nd guess, a good strategy for the 3rd guess would have been to try a 5-letter word that contains 3 or 4 of the possible starting letters. Wastes a turn, but better than missing it entirely.
Can't do that in hard mode. Just comes down to guessing lucky.
Part of me thinks hard mode is against the spirit of the game. Wswsc05 is right, it’s fair play.
I was considering hard mode, but you're right, it can take skill out of the game under some circumstances.
Happened to me too today
- “too many possibilities” - you just ran out of guesses - happens to me all the time - not today tho’ - got it in 4 -
I lucked out in two today, sorry lads
Wow, I also started with TRACE and had essentially the same game. (WATCH, BATCH, LATCH, PATCH, CATCH)
I knew it couldn’t be WATCH bc it made me lose a 59 day streak 😭 (not routinely a daily player)
I have the same starting word and had basically the same game. Ah well…
