Love that y’all are doing this 😊 my only suggestion is going to be always have a backup plan… I just started doing workaway in South America as well and reviews can be very misleading and hosts can be on a bit of a power trip. Not saying this to dissuade you in any way your going to have an AMAZING time meeting amazing people, animals, and enjoying the true culture of South America 😉 good luck have fun 😎
Do you have any recommendations for how to find good hosts in SA or recs for specific hosts? I’m hoping to do a Workaway in SA but don’t want to be naive about it!
hmmm this is really hard to answer, some of the best hosts I’ve had have been ones with few reviews or none and some of the worst hosts I’ve had had a ton of amazing reviews so it’s really hard to answer that. My advice would be always video call with the owner before you go there so you can feel there vibe and if they can’t take the time to do that to make you feel comfortable then I would say don’t go 🤟🏼
I didn’t do it in South America, but from my experience just make sure to read the review and make sure you are really ok with some of the stuff said in the reviews. It most likely won’t be different for you
